Except for my immediate supervisor, I think that might work. But I'm also afraid that would start a big rumor/gossip/guessing thing going. Unfortunately, the people I work with can be very intrusive. I already go against the norm for not sharing all details of my life..haha!

Surgery was on 5/13/2019 and came home yesterday from the hospital. Dr. said everything went well and no issues at all.. As soon as I came home I drank a big gulp of G2 not thinking of the ramifications of gulping. We'll I know the ramification now, straight to the sink and it is not very delightful to throw up with 85% of your stomach gone. So I got it now. Overall, feeling good but still some pain and still have some gas to get out. Popsicles, Premier Protein, broth, G2 (slowly), and Jello for the next 10days til I see my surgeon on 5/23/2019 to hopefully move on to Phase 2. But, let me tell you guy something, this ain't no joke pain wise when u wake up in recovery and you first night in the hospital. So don't think this is a joke and u will be running marathons any time soon. Just give yourself sometime to heal, that's what I am doing... Best of luck guys and if you have any questions let me know....

OMG! I'm so happy I could dance down the street naked! I FINALLY made it to Onederland today, 5 months post-op sleeve.
I've been stuck in a stall for five weeks, teasing me at 202 and so close but so stuck and I thought I was never going to lose another ounce for a minute or two.
But now I'm finally a LOSER! Yay! So excited! Now I feel like the scale will keep moving and it can go down to meet my goal.
So glad to be in the 100's again!

I'm in HR. Tell your local HR person that you need to apply for a medical leave of absence (MLOA). If you are in the US, there are privacy laws that protect your medical information. Your company would be at risk of violating the HIPPA laws if someone at the supervisor level pressed for medical details. All they need to know is you need MLOA for a procedure and that you expect to be out from x/xx/19 through x/xx/19.

Make sure and walk as much as you can.....it's really the only way to get rid of the gas pains. They linger but get less and less everyday. In between walks, do as little up and down out of the bed as possible. You need to heal
Sip your Water in TINY sips and slowly. I am 2 weeks out and my incisions are still a little sore and I still have a little gas every now and then, but I admit I'm not walking as much as I should since the weather stinks right now.
You did it! Good luck on this great adventure you are beginning!

I'll put it down as normal for now then. I just don't want the anal leakage continue too long. Been alright since it must have been the small yogart didn't like my belly. Had a good sleep after though nurse rang and said it could be too much sugar in the yogart
Might not help they told me take lactuloose too

Thanks everyone. Coming out of Anesthesia took awhile. Kept dozing off all afternoon( surgery was noon:30) Lots of pain, nurses said it was gas pain. Started walking yesterday. Got to eat ice chips around 10pm. Starting me on my liquid diet today and just sipping Water hurts. I wonder how long the pain from that is going to last?

I'm not sure how people returned to work right away. It seemed like my only focus the first 2 weeks was to sip sip sip to get all my Fluid and Protein in. I managed but I literally sat in my recliner all day with a variety of fluids next to me.

Thank you for your message. It totally makes sense and I appreciate your thoughts and your support. I’m thankful for dialogue like this. It’s helping me keep focus on the facts and to remember that not two experiences are the same but it is in big part what we decide to make of it.

I had my surgery 3/26. Everyone is different, as I found out. While some have no hunger and no cravings, others still do. I happen to be the unfortunate one that woke up hungry still crave food. However, when you are recovering from surgery, perhaps watching more TV than usual including all the food commercials, it's kinda hard. At least for me. The full liquid is probably the hardest part, and I have confidence that as I get to the next stage, it will get easier.
I might still get hungry, but I also get full with very little. After a few months, if I have a tremendous craving for something, I will be able to eat it, but only a very small amount. Portion Control is a huge help.
Bottom line, imo, is that no. The surgery may not rid you of obsessive thoughts, but again it could! If not, what it will do is give you time and tools and a head start to tame those thoughts. After all, you may want a big fat cheesburger, but your stomach will make you pay dearly if you have it! So it's not so much 'you shouldn't', but more 'you physically can't'.
