    June 2019 challenge

Day 3 - I completed 10 push-ups. Seems like a treat after last month! I started thinking about what my ideal day would be like last night....I think it would be one like Memorial Day...perfect weather around 70 degrees, I'd be outside with my dogs and mucking about in the garden, it would be wonderful to include a giggle fit or two with one or more friends and/or family. It would be a quiet peaceful day where one could just enjoy bees humming and birds chirping. But really, I think I have more than one version of an ideal day. I also enjoy days where I take the dogs for long walks off leash so they can run and swim. Most of my ideal days seem to have something to do with being outside. PS. @ Green Tealeal...I did see two whales on Saturday but didn't get any pictures.

    June 2019 challenge

Hello! I'm a day late but here nonetheless. My surgery was 12/12/18 and I got a sleeve. Let's see, my number one goal is to be the best me I can be at any given moment in time and to keep growing as a person. My second goal is to keep going with this journey. Since I seem to be averaging about 8 lbs a month, I want to at least meet that but would, of course, prefer to exceed it. Catching up: I just did the plank and the 20 jumping jacks. With the jumping jacks, I experienced a lot of me jumping along but not quite in sync. Not very comfortable that was for sure. 1. How do I feel in the moment...well this moment, I feel downright awesome and proud of myself. 2. I blew it before I began. I ate my breakfast at the computer but at least I wasn't rushed. B-side: Well, I am a therapist, I believe in therapy, I have had my own therapy and know that I would seek help if I needed it...it's actually harder for me these days because aren't I supposed to be an expert in everything? I do try to practice what I preach and a lot of my friends are therapists so that is a nice support. But yes, I would definitely seek it out as needed. I am also continually learning new and different ways to support mental health which usually benefits me as well as my clients.

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Oh, well, I never got around to yesterdays's pushups although I did do chest press at the gym but I did meet my goal for the month regarding weight loss so that's good. See you at the next challenge.

    30. Oh dear, didn't make it to the gym today. At the same time, I give myself permission to miss one day a week and I haven't missed any in at least two weeks. Today we were practicing CPR compressions and I so wanted to count those as my pushups...but, I did them anyway. I haven't visited a new place today but I have plans to go whale watching on Saturday and that will be a new place for me.

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

    28. 22 push-ups completed. I was trying to think if I had confided in anyone yesterday...the best I could come up with was my future yoga instructor - my goal this fall is to train to be a yoga instructor. We met yesterday and talked about the program and I shared my hopes and concerns. 29. 23 push-ups completed. Well, my job is centered on helping people in need so it is something I hope I do at least five days a week. B-side: I don't really have a goal weight - I suppose my fantasy would be to get back to 130 where I was in high school. I think it would be more realistic to expect a higher number....I made it to 170 once before but I think 150 would be nice. Basically, I'm aiming to go as far as I can go and then maintain that. I haven't really thought about the number so much as wanting to be as healthy as possible and not sure how everything will look with excess skin and whatnot.

    26. Push-ups done. I haven't created a gratitude log but I am grateful every day for my blessings. 27. Push -up rest day! I love seeing the growth I have had over the years and love who and where I am now.

    25. Got the pushups done. Start grooming? Well, I wish I had a horse and I would happily groom it. But, I have had a shower this morning and put on new smaller clothes to wear to the gym! Yay! I do plan to do my weekend facial routine one of these days. I am so happy to have sunny warmer weather to play in and around my house this weekend. Love the lilacs blooming in my yard and having the windows open. I have plants to pot, a yard to mow, and a house to clean so I suppose you could say that this is an inner and outer grooming weekend.

B-side from yesterday - I have both dogs and cats. Once upon a time, I thought I was a cat person but nowadays, I'm a dog person. Also, horses...always loved horses. I'm generally patient but do have my impatient moments. I'd have to say Star Wars over Star Trek. 24. 19 push-ups completed. I'm going out to dinner tonight with friends, so that's a treat. I suspect I'm going to stop at the local nursery this afternoon after my eye dr. appointment so if I shop, that will be my real treat! B-side - I haven't tried the new ice creams. I do have a love of Haagen Daaz and Ben & Jerry's - I don't remember the last time I had any ice cream - might even have been last Summer. I'm sure I'll have a cone at some point this Summer - how can I not? I live on Cape Cod and they are so good after a day at the beach.

23 - Good morning. Push-ups done. I think I learn something new every day - I read the news earlier so I'll count that towards learning something today.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

I like that chart - so validating. Yes, I feel like I'm losing super slow but I just keep doing what I'm supposed to and as long as I make progress, I'm happy. I suppose that's my biggest fear these days...getting stuck and not continuing the weight loss. But, I also have to acknowledge I am super happy with what I have lost and how much more comfortable I am in my body.

    22. Yes to 17 push-ups. Hmmm, get dressed up? Well I dress for work five days a week and that's really the best I can do at the moment. And, I was just realizing as I type this, that I don't believe I have anything more dressy at this point in my weight loss journey. I got rid of the dress I wore to a wedding last year during one of my recent closet purges. I hope I don't need anything dressy for a while (until maintenance) because who wants to spend money on something you wear once?

    December 2018 Sleevers!

Oh yes. I'm expecting I will likely need plastics when all is said and done. There is a whole forum about it. Look under the Weight Loss Surgery Forums ... it's down the page a ways.

    21. 17 pushups - check. Journaling...not happening. I've gone through phases with that but it's been a very long time since I've done it because I want to. Um, B-side: I'm currently reading Tara Brach's 'True Refuge: Finding Peace and Freedom in Your Own Awakened Heart' among other things.

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Oh it's a Monday. Anyway, I took a shower yesterday....I usually take one every morning. There wasn't anything especially relaxing about it though. 15 push ups were also completed. For today, well, my to do list is endless. I did go through my clothes over the weekend and disposed of those that weren't keepers this morning. I made to trips to the local nurseries so I have plants to plant. I'm hoping to work on that after work today. But it was funny because I found my to do list that I made last year and everything still needs to get done project wise...other things are things that are ongoing like chores...well, that's it for me today.

    18. Just did my pushups for today and I'm going to count the contact with my fur babies as my physical contact. B-side: I prefer Salon pedi because it typically includes at least a foot massage and then I feel wonderfully pampered. I believe I prefer a home manicure. It's a gorgeous sunny Saturday … gym/exercise still ahead, maybe the local nursery for plants, a visit to the market, and I think the dogs would love an outing although they do have a nice large yard to play in. Enjoy!

    16. Well, on my way home from seeing Eddie Izzard, I listened to NPR's Ted Radio Hour which is also a podcast. I didn't do my pushups until this morning. B-side - Major Goal - get organized and launch my business. 17. Just completed today's pushups so total of 27 today. Not sure I'll get to it today, but I do have the ambition to transition from winter to summer wardrobe and in the process eliminate the too big stuff. But maybe this weekend. I am wearing clothes I haven't worn in years as I type this though. Hooray! B-side - I'm grateful for these monthly challenges but am not currently interested in organizing one. Really, thank you GT for these and to whomever might step in.

    15. Oh, I read every day - it's been a favorite activity since about 4th grade. Mostly, I read in bed until I fall asleep. 12 pushups also completed. And folks, I meant to share this yesterday but I had to banish my scale. It is such a tease! I know, I know...it's just the daily fluctuations but I don't want it to play with my head every day. So, I will try for a weekly rather than daily weigh in. I kept telling myself that was what I was going to do but there it has been every morning daring me to step on it.

Happy Tuesday! Pushups done for today. Gym is next and then, of course, work. Um, cooking from scratch? Well, I do make most everything for myself most days. So, let's see, I made breakfast. Lunch is leftover brussel sprouts from last night and a chicken sausage. Dinner will be ham. Not a lot of difficulty in my menu today.

Happy Monday folks! Playing with an animal happens every day as I have two dogs and two cats. Love them! And they help keep me sane. Oh and rest day from pushups! Yay! About to head out for the day, starting at the gym and then to work. Have a good one!

    12. Ah well...I chose mowing the lawn yesterday and turns out that was plenty of exercise and steps according to my fitbit. I woke up listening to music this morning and as soon as I post this, I'll do today's pushups. Happy Mom's Day.

    11. All 11 pushups accomplished. I also just completed a puzzle online at JigZone. I do need to get a card table and chairs so that I can do a hands on puzzle...nice to have available for when my mother visits. I haven't made it to the gym yet but it's such a beautiful day and I'll be mowing my lawn. Tomorrow is supposed to be rain. I'm undecided about getting to the gym today but I'm definitely going to move today one way or another.

    10. Ok got push ups in and did Child's pose and downward dog for yoga. Bside - Yes, I'm contemplating plastics. No decision until I hit maintenance and see where I'm at. Most likely tummy, upper thighs, and boobs.

    ❤ MAY 2019 CHALLENGE❤

Day 9. Ok 10 push ups completed and a 5 minute meditation via Calm. Bside - I was told no caffeine initially. Then we were allowed to have 1 caffeinated beverage a day provided we were getting our fluids in. That was about a month post-op. Mostly, I've been decaffeinated. And coffee....that means sugar and cream to me so I haven't been having any...but tea has always been my favorite.
