    💜 SEP 2019 CHALLENGE 💜

Good morning. I've been to the gym. I haven't done any squats as it's a rest day. I have a bag of clothes I've been filling because they are too big! It will be donated when full. Probably pretty soon as I begin transitioning from summer clothes to fall. I did complete arrangements to meet my friends on Saturday morning so something fun was scheduled! Happy Wednesday!

    💜 SEP 2019 CHALLENGE 💜

Hi I'm home! So, here's my first post of the month: 1. Posting your personal goal - Onederland! 2. Add your surgery type, status (pre/post op, losing/maintenance) - Gastric Sleeve 3. Weight and BMI (not necessary but encouraged) - 206 this morning 4. Choose between the easy or advance squat routine - advance 5. Tell us your favorite flaw - I can't think....hmmm, throwing my dirty clothes on the laundry room floor? I keep the room gated because the cats' food and litter box are in there so I have to step over the gate (they have a hatch) when I need to go in the room. So, I will toss my laundry in there until I go in when I do pick them up and put them in the washer until I'm ready to start a load. Day 1: Well, I did happen to do 10 squats that day. I also went hiking and I did stop and sit on a rock and meditate and breathe. Day 2: Travel all day...but spent time with family that I hadn't seen in 8 years over the weekend so I'll count that as my friends catching up. Day 3: Just did 50 squats (day 2 & 3 combined). I just texted a couple of my friends to see if we want to meet up this weekend. I think I'm caught up. I have to say, somewhere between last Thursday and this morning I dropped 3 more lbs which put me in a much better place to make my onederland goal this month so I'm very excited about that! Oh, whoops...B-sides. Love exercise - it makes me feel good. I enjoy feeling my muscles work and stretch. I don't know about the complexion but some folks have said I look a lot younger.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    29. I expect this is my last entry for the month as I will be travelling tomorrow. Anyway, got up early and dropped the dogs off at their resort and headed to the gym. I had extra time so I did 40 minutes of cardio and then my weights for 15 minutes. I'm going to bed early tonight because I have to get up in the wee hours to bus to the airport etc. I will practice meditation while sitting around waiting for flights. I have a four hour layover tomorrow so I'm thinking that could become some good walking time but I have it mind to go to the gym once I arrive at my destination to get the kinks out. Anyway, I can claim a 3.5 lb weight loss for this month. Again not as much as I hoped for but I'll still take it as a win as progress is progress. Have a happy Labor Day Weekend!!! See you at the next challenge.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    28. Ok, so yesterday, someone didn't show for their appointment so I dashed to the gym and did some cardio and weights which was a nice boost. I also drank a lot of water yesterday. Today has been a bit like yesterday because I started with Body Groove again before work and then when someone didn't show up, I dashed to the gym and did a bit more cardio and some more weights. I'm thinking I'd like to do some yoga tonight to stretch things out but that can also have a strength focus. I don't know if I will because the last time, the puppy kept trying to be a part of it and it's raining really hard out which means indoor time for the dogs. I'm also drinking a lot of water again today. As far as gardening...well the rain is happening...but when I went home at lunch, I did dead head my geraniums so that will have to count for today. And yes to September Challenge!!! And, things are moving again per the scale this morning so I will keep on trucking and do my best to hit onederland next September.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    27. Good morning! Last night, I watched "Juanita" which I thoroughly enjoyed. This morning, I stayed in bed an extra hour (so I'll count that as my relax time) and ended up doing Body Groove for my cardio before breakfast instead of going to the gym. I'm not sure yet what else I will do today on the exercise front but gym or PIYO or yoga are options. Have a happy Tuesday!!! PS. Something popped during the night and whatever was out of alignment seems to have resolved itself. Yay!!

    What’s your favorite protein shake

I liked Orgain. The banana was a favorite but then chocolate flavor won. I also used 310 shakes with almond milk.

@Cheeseburgh, No, I go to Planet Fitness...they have a lot but not a foam roller. I had a massage therapist suggest a tennis ball once for when I felt super tight.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    26. I made it to the gym yesterday and found that some of the tightness loosened up. I self-massaged and stretched in between sets and that seemed to help a lot. I'm still sore but much better than before. So, I went to the gym this morning and did my usual. I guess I'll have to save the rest day for another time. I will try to remember to choose a movie to watch tonight...Happy Monday folks. I'm not sure what my most spontaneous thing is...there have been a few for sure. I suppose one of my favorite's was deciding to go on a road trip with my best friend without any particular destination. We went from PA to DC to Florida (but were supposed to stop in Savannah) and then up to Canada and ended in Massachusetts because of car problems. We were on our way to NH. I was about 21 at the time.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Day 25. Well, I had a good time with my cousin and her son yesterday and the puppy did very well with riding the bus and the ferry and meeting lots of people. Somehow, I pulled off over 10,000 steps despite the muscle/sciatica issue. I realized last night that the cramping felt like Charlie horses. Sometimes in my butt and sometimes in my inner thigh and...ouch! Still, there seems to be improvement. I'm out of sync with the fitness challenge. I'm dressed to go to the gym and I thought I'd see how doing cardio feels and maybe do some weights for my upper body. I've really been enjoying that I can feel my muscle definition even if it's not visible. But, if it's too uncomfortable, I'll call it quits. I suppose part of my push is that the scale seems stuck this week and it seems a slower month over all so far. I did do a little bit of yoga/stretch earlier and may do some more later. Mostly, enjoying a relaxed, no agenda, Sunday. Oh and no new restaurant/café today...I'll leave that for next week when I go visit my brother in Colorado...I'm sure to go someplace I've never been somewhere in my travels then.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

I can't say I have. I ended up not exercising because of the discomfort and I consumed more than usual. Blegh. I'm on Tylenol and hoping the kinks work out soon. Meanwhile on the ferry to the island with puppy.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    23. Well, I ended up mowing the backyard yesterday afternoon and felt darned weak after! Maybe I did too much too soon. Also I think I retweaked a muscle in my lower back into the right butt cheek or is that sciatica? It kept me awake last night and it's still bugging me. Because of that, not sure what I'm going to do for exercise today...most likely something at home...I'm thinking body groove because it's dance and kind to my body and will meet the cardio challenge for today. Also, would like to do some yoga...maybe a nice restorative so that will catch me up with Wednesday. Tomorrow, I'm probably going to be off-grid as I'm going to visit my cousin and her son. We may go kayaking or paddle boarding and I know I'll be doing some walking. I may have to catch up on the strength piece on Sunday. I love visiting museums but that's not in the cards in the near future...I especially enjoy art museums and I do want to get to MFA (Museum of Fine Arts in Boston) as they have a new Pollock for me to check out before that exhibit disappears.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Well, Tuesday, Day 20, I didn't hit the gym. But I did mow the front yard and I did swim. The swimming was in my neighborhood pond so I'll count that and the mowing as being in nature. Yesterday was my rest day. I had a minor surgery (female thing) so that was it for me for the day. I went to the gym this morning and did 30 minutes of cardio and might either yoga later or mow the backyard or it will depend on how I feel. I'm supposed to take it easy for at least a week. Looking forward to the weekend and my daytrip and time with my cousin. Oh yes, no cookie baking here. Bside - more comfortable but that's related to the weight loss. It's much easier to tend to my hygiene so I don't get anxious about where I am.

I'm a PC/Android person. Always have been except for my Ipod...which used to be a Dell Jukebox. I prefer non-Apple products...I think it has to do with feeling like I have a choice about things.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Good morning! So on Saturday, I did the strength training. I did not get a massage much as I love them. Just not in the cards just now but it did make me think of making an appointment. Yesterday I went swimming in the sea for about 45 minutes and also did 70 minutes of yoga. I also took a nap! Yay! For me, one of my number one favorite things to do is be in the sea or by the sea or anything to do with the sea so that is top of the choice list for self-care. Oh yes, I already went to the gym today and got my 30 minutes of cardio in. I'll probably do my rest day on Wednesday.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    16. Well, never painted anything yesterday beyond my face. Went to the gym this morning and got my workout in including weights. I'm going to dinner with friends tonight so I'll call that treating myself. And, I've figured out the day trip...I'm going to ferry over to Martha's Vineyard to see my cousin either tomorrow or next weekend. Turns out she is a fellow sleever (early this Summer) so we will have a nice chat I'm sure.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Day 15. I did make it to the gym this morning and got my 30 minutes of cardio in. I didn't have time for anything else though. Color or paint? Well maybe I'll paint my nails tonight....but funny because I was thinking I really need to work on my office/studio room so that I can paint freely whenever the mood strikes. Or maybe, I'll play with my colored pencils this evening...hmmm. I'll let you know the results tomorrow.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Day 14. Well, went to the gym and chose the strength setting on the cardio machine so that was 30 minutes of that plus approximately 16 minutes of weights. I wanted to see what the cardio setting was like and I actually enjoyed it while getting my sweat on. I'm going to have to try them all now. Well, it's the middle of the week and a work day and not a good day for a day trip. I did make it to the dentist this morning for a crown but I don't suppose that counts. I'll have to think of something for this weekend... Happy halfway day!

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

So, had a rest day yesterday. I thought about doing a Body Groove work out as that could've counted as a dance party but didn't. Does my wagging my butt at someone count? I was imitating the puppy, lol. I went to the gym this morning and did the 35 minutes of cardio. I don't see me listening to a podcast anytime soon. Nothing against them but so many other things have priority. Happy Tuesday!

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

So it turns out I didn't do any exercise yesterday. I did smile at people though. Today I went to the gym and did 40 minutes of weights on top of the usual cardio. And then later, I did 20 minutes of yoga. Haven't listened to tunes today but have been enjoying crickets and birds.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

    9. Did my cardio and did actually manage a couple of extra ounces of water. I didn't think I was going to pull that off but I did. 10. Trying to figure out 40 minutes of strength training. Part of me wants to say since I do some every day, I should just take credit for the days I do it that the challenge doesn't ask me to. LOL. But that's the hitch, since I do some every day, I don't have 40 minutes worth to do today...or maybe I do, I'll have to see how it turns out - if I hit the gym. Mostly what I'd like to do is go swimming. I have a wish to swim across my local pond and back - that's the exercise I would choose today - that and mowing the lawn. If I encounter any people, I'll try to remember to smile. I'm more likely to encounter some ducks.

    8. Well went to the gym. I think I probably did 18 minutes of strength training in addition to cardio. Cook a healthy meal? I think I do that nearly every day. It's all about the protein and then the fruits and veggies.

    7. Ok, 30 minutes of cardio done for today. I did get the strength training completed yesterday. Hmmm, I would love to catch up with an old friend...maybe more than one. I guess I'll have to see who answers the phone today. Happy Wednesday!

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Day 6 - I had a cup of coffee at breakfast this morning. It is so hard to negotiate my morning cuppa (tea or coffee) around eating breakfast. I try to drink it before breakfast....and then finish it before I head out the door. My stomach sometimes say, nope, not now. Finish it later. Heading to the gym shortly so I will do my regular routine and make sure that I do 20 minutes of strength training instead of the usual 15. Thank you for the love for Hazel the puppy!
