  2. Hey Jack Thats the plan (to repair it) and I'm SOOO looking forward to that. As far as a good nutritionist...not sure how good she is. I'll have to get some scoop on her. Thanks for the idea. Anita
  3. I'm pre-banded.... I gotta say that after reading 1 page about the band, I certainly don't see it as a "magic pill". The hardest part about losing weight is getting your mind/brain to realize that you don't need the amount of food that we eat. The band simply enforces that fact but I can't believe that it takes away the fight that goes on in our heads with food. If our mind's had that control over our bodies than most of us wouldn't be in this position. Maybe your experience of weight loss will be easy and that would be great and your friend could have a positive experience through you. But I personally think the argument that I'll have in my head will try to get the better of me and my band will fight back....that's not easy or magic. Food is my comfort even when I don't need it. Have your friend think about "why" she hasn't lost weight on her own...minus a "magic pill". Maybe food is her comfort or her mind can't get around the fact that she must portion control. Non-the-less our thoughts can control us and mine have lead me to the point of needing some help with my weight.:cry Not an easy thing to deal with at all. Anita :puke:
  4. Hey All~ I'm a little nervous about this....found out this year (after 31 yrs) that I'm lactose intollerant and can not eat any pork as it irritates a hiatal hernia and makes me feel sick. I already suffer from being bloated for weeks if I eat this stuff. While this limits my food options big time (I love cheese) of course, I haven't lost any weight. Is there anyone out there with similar issues that has the band? I'm concerned that I may end up vomitting everything I eat after I get banded. :puke: Anita Scheduled 2/18 :guess
  5. Hey From Virginia. I'm scheduled for Feb 18 also. I'm going down to Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey. A little nervous about the surgery but more nervous about what is going to happen after the surgery. I've read alot of the posts and all the pros/cons and feel ready for this. I have a hiatal hernia and am lactose intolerant.:speechles We'll see. We'll have to keep in touch. Anita :nervous
