it was definitely a thing in 2017. I had bypass in 2015 and specifically chose that because I was told there was a risk that VSG could make my reflux worse. I'm very surprised the OP's surgeon wasn't aware of that.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through all of that. I keep seeing mention of VSG causing Acid Reflux, and you mentioned that it wasn't a thing in 2017. Is that a known thing now? What causes it? I had VSG in Dec. 2018 and as far as I can tell it cured my Acid Reflux and I don't have it anymore, but I'm worried because I keep seeing people saying VSG has known Acid Reflux issues.

The only person who can decide your goal weight is you. Others can suggest a reasonable or practical number, but it's ultimately up to you.

It's good you enjoyed some "real food." Just be careful as you venture back into real eating. Good luck on your WLS journey.

Do you drink it it 30 minutes before eating? Because we're not supposed to drink WITH our meals. Just curious.

The doctor's advice just sounds like old school when you've had the flu and been throwing up to just eat Soups and soft bland foods for a day to settle your stomach.
Try GNC soft chew Vitamins. They don't make you sick. Or there's some expensive organic vitamins at Whole Foods that didn't make me sick. Otherwise vitamins generally do cause people to get nauseous and throw up if taken all at once or without food.

Today in my area we were predicted to have an ice storm, sleet, freezing rain, and snow. It hasn't happened yet just before noon but it is still predicted to come.
So I had decided to stay home this morning and not go to the gym because I didn't want to drive on slick roads.
    No worries!
I turned the news on and while the news is on, I do cardio: marching in place, squats, dancing, leg kicks, and knee lifts. While the commercials are on I pick up my 8 lb dumbbell and do bicep curls and rows. Between news segments I switch up what I'm doing.
I made it a whole 30 minutes while watching the news, getting 30 minutes of exercise while not realizing I was doing it/while watching what was going on with local news and weather.
Long story short, there's always an opportunity to exercise, even at home indoors, and I'm still determined to get my 10,000 steps in today no matter what.

I started with all chewables through GNC but they're kinda pricey, so I cheaped out and got generic drugstore Vitamins and they sat too hard on my stomach/made me nauseous, so I'm going back to the GNC soft chews next month. I take Vitamin D, a Multi, Vit B12, and Calcium.

We had 30 inches of snow here this past weekend, so I wasn't going out on Monday (I was in SF over the weekend so enjoyed some glorious walking on Saturday and lots of airplane time Sunday), but I have been doing lots of treadmill this week. I do it in ten minute increments, every time I get too cold. However, I've noticed that my hip pain is starting to come back like the last time I used my treadmill every day, so I might switch to stairstepping or marching in place. We have an indoor pool in my building, but it's so cold and dark when I'm not working!

Walking is the best way to pass the gas, whether it's burping or farting, either way it'll come out.

I really liked the aesthetic look of these dumbbells. But I have some doubts about their practicality. I assume that such small dumbbells will be effective for you for a maximum of 1-2 months, and in addition these are not collapsible dumbbells, so you can't purchase plates separately. Even for cardio, this is too light weight. To save both money and space in your home, I would recommend you to purchase quality professional equipment. The feature is that they have dumbbells that you can put on and take off plates on them, and you can adjust the weight from about 0.5 kg to 30-40 kg. Moreover, at the same time you will have only one pair of dumbbells, and discs that you can stack one on top of the other, this will take up minimum of space.

Find a counselor who deals with weight issues and/or bariatric patients. Both my counselor and my psychiatrist have heavy concentrations working with people who've had WLS, so they understand my issues.

According to my surgeon, it's really hard to stretch out your stomach. It's not as easy as just overeating a few meals, so take that worry off your mind.
She also told me to focus on Protein. If full when done eating protein, don't eat anything else. Then veggies. Then grains. So eat one thing at a time and stop when you're full.

I guess I got lucky, my coordinator was very responsive both by phone and email. Each surgeon in the practice had his/her own coordinator, so one person wasn't doing the entire office.

Yes we did! The opportunity arose for us to go together and we decided to take it. Initially the better half was having the bypass but settled on the sleeve. I am amazed at the doctor and staff in Turkey and have nothing but admiration for them - ours especially. Fears of travelling to another country were totally unfounded and we were cared for very well.
Now the hard work begins! Lots to learn - Not least how big a glass is for a glass of milk!
    Thanks for the welcome

I don't know. In 2015 I was self pay as my company insurance didn't cover bariatric surgery. I'm now retired and the ACA plan I have also doesn't cover anything related to bariatric surgery so if GERD was a side effect of the first surgery they wouldn't likely cover it. I think they will cover the hernia repair but not the bypass, so there might be some partial coverage.

I've read it's because sleeve surgery can cause high-volume pressure on your remaining stomach, whatever that means.

and OP - yes, from what I've heard, the revision can resolve type 2 diabetes and you can lose another 20 lbs or so (most people do lose 20-30 lbs after revision - although some have lost more than that)
