Good job, way to go! Good luck on your weight loss journey.

TPN anyone.?
I didn't know what TPN was until I read it on somebody else's response to your post. Sorry for what you're going through. I've been taking chewable vitamins since Day 3 after surgery and never had an absorption problem, my vitamin levels are good.

1 month out progress
Mine was about the same at one month - 30 lbs

Is this a stall?
You're at the right time for a stall, they happen around that time, so it could be that and it lasts a couple of weeks. 800 calories really sounds like where you should be at this point.

Waiting sucks
Waiting is hard. Could you call your insurance company to check status and make sure it hasn't fallen through a gap? Good luck.

So Ready ... But Yet Another Wait
That's good that the insurance approval came through so quickly. I think mine took 2 weeks. But my surgeon was already booked out 6 weeks, so I had to wait for her next available date for surgery.

Calories after VSG

HELP - Drank Water w/ Meals Post Op
Don't beat yourself up, it's not the end of the world. Go back to not drinking while eating. It's a rule forever going forward. In terms of fullness, it's a natural progression that you're going to start getting some hunger back and be able to eat more, but keep portion sizes in mind and stick to the rules even if you feel like you could put more food in your stomach.

Blindsided by an anxiety crisis
I totally hear ya and relate to this post. I "indulged" a little for the holidays and my birthday last week and gained 2 lbs and I know I have a real addiction to cookies, just like an alcoholic has an addiction to alcohol and I must fight it every day to keep it at bay.

CIGNA DENIED
You're entitled to at least one appeal, so appeal it and provide more medical evidence for the necessity and see what happens. Good luck.

Vsg to mgb?!
Good luck with your decision, but it's my understanding that you have to be nicotine free for a certain number of months before they'll do surgery and that you have to quit smoking altogether after surgery. Are you ready to commit to this?

sleeve to rny
Would you qualify for a revision at this weight or does your BMI have to be higher? Would this be self-pay?

Protein shakes and nausea
Have you tried switching protein shakes? Like others said, you may have developed a whey or lactose or gluten intolerance and just need to try one that's lactose-free, not made with whey, etc. They also make clear fruity protein drinks, which might work for you better. You can get them at Sam's Club.

11 month post op bloat, help!
I still can't eat certain foods (fried foods) without getting bloaty and full. Tums or Gas-X might help

Happy!
Keep up the good work.

Did any of you keep your surgery a secret? I have! Please give input!
I only told my husband. It's nobody else's business.

Vacation/Travel/Socializing after surgery
I travel a lot and I bring almonds, protein bars, and protein snacks with me in airports and on cruises and land trips to make sure (1) that I'm getting in enough protein and (2) that I'm snacking on something healthy instead of something bad. It's definitely do-able. Restaurants have plenty of good options.

Slightly Discouraged
Much better to know and take care of this now. Hang in there.
-
Hungry?
It's okay to be a little hungry. Just stick with small portion sizes. Some of it could be head hunger.

sleeve to rny for weight loss?
Good luck with your research and outcome.

Worried I’m making a wrong choice
People can be so insensitive. Don't listen to them. You qualify for the surgery and if that's what makes you happy, then do it. In addition to the weight I lose I also got rid of Sleep Apnea, GERD, and High Blood Pressure, taking 2 fewer pills each day, so it was a win/win for me.

I’m not “fat enough”
I heard that too. "Just lose it on your own" was something my mother would have said. But my husband was very supportive and I did it and I'm happy that I did.
