I'm sorry about your surgical complications, but I'm not so sure it was caused by the caffeine. It could have just been one of those unfortunate things. My doctor didn't prohibit or limit my caffeine post-op at any point.

It's a good thing; it means your kidneys are working well. Keep sipping, sipping, sipping all day long.

Slip-ups are normal because we're human and we didn't get to our larger sizes by eating too much salad. LOL! Stick to the program of focusing on protein, get your water in, and have healthy snacks available.

MyFitnessPal doesn't count as a structured, professionally supervised weight loss program.

Glad you enjoyed them.

Hard to take a deep breath

It just resolves itself in time. Hang in there. -
Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat as a breakfast food
GradyCat replied to Ginanatucci's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I think they're healthy, although they do have some carbs, but they're definitely not a poor choice. -
It's okay, just don't do it again. I'm battling a chocolate addiction myself.

Yeah, people treat you like a human being instead of a fat blob.

Happy Dance, the scale finally moved!
GradyCat replied to Lynda486's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hooray for lower scale readings! Happy Dance! -
Should I be “excited?”
GradyCat replied to fiddlinjellybean's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I completely understand how you're feeling. I've struggled with my weight for 30 years. -
***UGH I am so effing hungry!!
GradyCat replied to tal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get hungry every 3 hours and "snack" on something like almonds or a protein bar, but I also track all my food every day in MyFitnessPal.com and watch my calories to make sure I'm not overeating so many times a day. I stay at 1200 and under. -
Done and Done!

How do you psychologically deal?
GradyCat replied to TheAngryMeow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's definitely an adjustment, but you can do this, you've got this. -
My rule of thumb is that I have to get the same number on the scale for three days in a row for it to be a "real" reading

Cheated on Liver Shrinking Diet
GradyCat replied to Xolosing's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just don't do it again. It's not the end of the world, but you need to follow the liver shrinking diet fully so that you'll be able to have your surgery on time and without a delay if your liver is too big. -
Buzzing Through Life No More!
GradyCat replied to Cia2020's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to this forum and good luck on your weight loss journey. -
I deal with migraines, but they're not related to my weight loss surgery. I take Cambria powder (prescription from Neurologist) whenever I feel a migraine coming on. I think I'm getting one this morning. Yuck. They're debilitating.

I'm pretty sure it's just the weather affecting you. There shoulnd't be any correlation to the weight loss surgery.

Extra meal replacement shake on preop
GradyCat replied to Celeste kimberly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Each doctor has a different requirement. Mine was < 1500 calories/day, so the # of shakes could add up to that total. -
I didn't have to do that one.

It's okay to drink a lot of water. Your body needs it. You need to stay hydrated. Just sip, sip, sip all day long.
-
Sounds like neither one of you are happy with the other one's choice for weight loss efforts. That's going to make it hard for each of you to support each other along with journey together. I hope you two can work it out.

I am one year post-op sleeve. I struggled with losing weight for the last six months, was constantly stalled. But I didn't gain weight (except for 3 1/2 pounds during holidays, which I've already lost). So starting January 1st I started eating MORE calories, like a LOT, like 1300/day and guess what? I'm LOSING weight again. My guess is my body had adjusted to the lower number of calories and was holding on to everything it was getting. Or maybe my body just needed a rest. But I feel like I had the longest stall in weight loss surgery history. Happy now to see the scale going down daily!

Sounds like you're following a good program. 1 1/2 lbs a week is good. No worries there.
