Well sure, you're human. A lot of it, though, is "head hunger" and not stomach hunger, so try to watch out for the difference. It's tricky. The surgery helps the hunger be less demanding, but it's still going to be there.

I don't know about bypass, but for sleeve we were allowed half a cup (4 oz)
-
It was immediate

But I feel just the opposite. Being lighter, starting at 235 pounds, I see people who've lost 100 pounds in six months and I've only lost 35 pounds in 5 months and I get discouraged. I think we all reach our goals at the same amount of time, by percentage, if not by number of pounds.

How soon does one poop post-op?
GradyCat replied to BabettesFeast's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I've pooped every day since the day coming home from the hospital after surgery and never had a problem. -
ScarAway Silicone Scar Sheets
GradyCat replied to justmetj's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good to know. I've been using BioOil and they've definitely faded, but I also have some older scars that I might like to try those on. Thanks. -
I tried a brand called "Low Cow" the other day. YUCK! It was awful. It's the first time I've tried ice cream since the sleeve 5 months ago. I think I'm glad I didn't like it because I really don't need ice cream in my life right now.

600-800 calories is pretty average. You're getting enough. Stalls and hair loss are a normal part of the process. Take some biotin to help with the hair loss.

That's great! Good luck.

I've never heard of such a thing.

How did you decide the sleeve was for you and any regrets?
GradyCat replied to Panda333's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was pretty sure I wanted bypass then when I met with my psychiatrist and therapist, they both suggested the sleeve instead, saying it was "less radical" although it seems to me it's "more radical" because it permanently cuts out part of your stomach, but I listened to them and did the sleeve. No regrets. No complications, No problems. -
Gastric sleeve post op
GradyCat replied to layashmil's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't want to get dehydrated, so please try to get those fluids in. Can you do a sugar-free popsicle to try to get some fluid in? Slip slowly every 15 minutes. Yes, incision site pain is normal. -
Have you attended a seminar at your local weight surgeon's office? They provide really good information and could answer any of your questions.
-
No, I'm 5 months and haven't had that happen. Sorry you're going through this.

Symptoms you were surprised about after surgery.
GradyCat replied to Alikiinz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry you're experiencing that. No, I haven't had anything like that. -
Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery
GradyCat replied to Krestel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad I no longer have to wear chain extenders on my necklaces. -
Anyone switch their addiction?
GradyCat replied to AZhiker's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
No, I can't say that I've picked up any new obsession other than obsessing over whether or not the scale will go down each time I weigh -
I sip mine over about a 45 minute to hour-long period of time

Yes, alcohol is okay, but be aware that you'll get drunker a lot quicker, so you'll want to limit the quantity. Also, remember that alcohol has calories, so watch it.

Have many people not been advised a pre-op diet?
GradyCat replied to Pippa1703's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre-op diet was to limit eating to 1500 calories/day and restrict fats for 2 weeks before surgery. -
That's normal because you're not getting solid foods. No worries. And we can talk about anything here, so there's a lot of "poop talk" 🙂
-
Hooray, you made it! Good luck on your WLS journey and with your recovery.

Sick during surgery
GradyCat replied to VeeAurora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm sorry you are sick so close to your surgery date. I'm sure it is worrisome for you. I think you should call your surgeon's office and ask them. -
Issues hitting protein goal, six weeks out.
GradyCat replied to Ellf's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It's okay to still be doing protein shakes at less than a month out. Don't try to push things too fast. Your body will and is telling you what it's willing to tolerate. -
I only just started getting slight headaches at just a little under 5 months out, but I'm thinking it's Spring allergies instead of anything related to the WLS.
