I've also told everyone. I understand why some people would want to keep it to themselves, as some see it as the easy way out....little do they know. I just don't really give a you know what what anyone thinks though.

LaNueva_Janie reacted to Naughty Glitter Goddess in To snack in between meals or not to snack
My team is pretty low-key with eating instructions. They want me to meet my Water and Protein goals and that's about it. I've been cautioned by psych to really consider what triggers bad eating habits for me and develop and eating schedule/plan that minimizes that.
I define "snacking" as unnecessary and unplanned eating between meals. If you are eating in between meals because you are focusing on trying to meet a protein requirement and aren't able to do it with meals alone - it counts as a mini-meal, not a snack to me.
The healthiest choice mentally for me is to stick to a plan that meets my nutritional needs and to minimize eating any foods that make me wish I could eat more of them. I can eat a lot of calories especially when I'm focusing on just Proteins and fats. I don't worry too much about it because it only happens on days when I'm too tired or unprepared to cook. Other days, I eat a lot fewer calories because I got my crap together and actually cooked a stir fry or made a beautiful salad to enjoy. I do log everything so I can be alerted to any problematic trends and I have had to make myself a hard cutoff for no eating after dinner. Period. If I haven't met my protein for the day, and I can't get it in with the dinner I have planned - I change the plan to a dinner that will meet my goals or I drink my protein instead. That works for me and it works for my team.

@LaNueva_Janie each one has 2 g added sugar. The second ingredient is corn Syrup and the third is sugar. They do taste suspiciously good. haha My plan recommended them and I didn't pay that much attention, honestly. I feel like having a little sugar like that is OK for me, but I certainly understand some people would want to avoid it.

I have one that does irritate me, and I'm sure someone will. bawl me out, but I find all this signing disruptive. Often I am watching a winter commentary, at my age you do still hear but sometimes your mis-interprets what you actually heard So there I am straining to hear what the official is saying, and over to the right, and sometimes it's right in front of the official and here's this ding - a- ling flopping his arms up and down like a fat pelican who can't get off the ground or gyrating like he's touched live electric wires, Either I turn on the closed captioning which peeves Tomkitten or I j7st stop looking and listen only,to the sound. Recently there was a lady singing quite beautifully, really enjoying her presentation, and who should show up but Hector-amos Flopmeyer, bouncing and flippery-flopping all over the place. Dayum, please go back and sit down please! 👈👷👉🙌

Yes... I’ve had it since I was 10 or so. It’s one of those things that I don’t tell people about because it’s too hard to explain and makes me sound either crazy or like a total bitch or both.

It’s hard. It effects relationships. It makes it hard to be out in public.

A specialist about 10 years ago recommended and fitted me for this thing that looks like a hearing aid but is actually a small white noise maker. It helped but eventually broke and was too costly to replace.

So now my life is surrounded by fans ... as in white noise fans, not adoring fans. In a pinch (like in public near a gum chewer that I can’t escape) I slip in ear plugs.

It’s horrible to live with and I pray for relief . So far there has been no miracle healing, but I find ways to cope. Triggers can lead to a serious fight or flight respond - anxiety and repulsion that are unbearable until you can get away from the source. You learn to get creative in avoiding triggers or at least masking them as much as possible.

Yes it’s neurological in nature, but there are some audiologists that help people that suffer with this.

Good luck and I’m sorry to hear so many people have this.

Truth is you can eat anything. All you have to do is chew on it to a soft consistency. But do you really want to do that? [emoji16]
We have a new baby. We have to keep the baby healthy.[emoji4]

I was told no bread/high carbs for a year.
Am i waiting for that year to come?..nope!
Im 5 months post op still learning to eat healthy and focused on no bread at all, no rice, no tortillas, no crackers ect. Id rather fill my pouch with chicken, fish, veggies, salads, Protein ect..

I hope you find this helpful. Be very careful and selective on everything you intake. [emoji4]

You can eat that NOW. But let me tell you. Your anatomy WILL mature. And you will find that bread, crackers, chips, et al WILL act like slider foods and go straight down your gullet without making you feel full. And since you didn't bother to break the habit while it was "easy" and you had your restriction, you will suffer. And will end up trying to "diet" while still continuing to push the rock uphill--rather than taking this time to divorce yourself from the problem foods that got you fat in the first place.

I'm here to tell you that if at 10weeks, you can ALREADY handle getting all your Protein in from food, AND get some veg in, AND eat carby bread? You need to go talk to your doc and RD. Cuz you've got big trouble in River City.
Also this is your HONEYMOON PERIOD. Seriously.
Don't squander the fu*k out of it by going back to the foods that got you all the way to the Obesity Ball the first time!!! Dude! Serious rationalization going down in your head. Own it. Change it. Or be potentially doomed to experience never reaching goal, and regaining your weight.
    The End.
    Live well.
