    Hello, question.

Hi! I just cleaned out some of those sizes from my closet. It's mostly shirts. I haven't worn jeans in years. Looking forward to that again. You can e-mail me at this address and we can work out the details. tammiesanders@marykay.com I've been hoping to find someone that could use these.

    Help!!! Have i failed???

Mind you, I'm not a doctor...but I think that waiting 6 weeks for your first fill is way too long. Maybe that's why my doctor does first fills at 3 weeks post op...because that's about the time you get to the point where your appetite is coming back and you have no restriction. I'm 7 weeks post op now and am going back tomorrow for fill #3. And even after 2 fills I feel like I'm still working from sheer will-power and not band restriction. Go get that fill and it'll be like a mental victory if nothing else. Good luck!

How many pokes with a fill?

Had my first fill two weeks ago...Hurt like heck! Doc said that there was still swelling from the surgery since I was only 3 weeks post op. Got stuck twice and the second time I thought I was going to come off the table. And that's with a fluoroscope. Had my second fill yesterday...totally opposite...one stick and it was done...easy!
  6. Personally, I live on sugar free popsicles. I think there are 15 calories in each one.

starting BMI over 50? come on in!

I had my first adjustment yesterday. OUCH! I thought I was gonna come off that table. They said the first adj is the worst, because I still had swelling from surgery. Not happy with being back on clear liquids to full liquids to soft foods again. But I sure needed to be...and it showed in my weight loss. Last week I was eating way more than I should have. So going back to the beginning is good for me. I got 1.88 cc's yesterday. Going back in two weeks for another adj. I can't really tell if I feel different. I guess when I'm actually eating food again I should be able to tell. I hope so.

It's definitely pre-op jitters. I kept trying to talk myself out of it up until the anesthesia kicked in. I worried about anesthesia, though. But I decided that I do riskier things just by driving in my car every day. You'll be just fine. I'm all nervous about my first fill today. Don't know what that's going to feel like. But I do know that I need one! It's all about the journey. Take care and keep us posted.

    Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!

Hi! I'm 3 weeks post-op and have my first fill tomorrow. I'm really nervous about it. I want it because I've really got no restriction now and old habits die hard. But I'm afraid of PBs and not chewing enough and PAIN! Any advice?

Trust me, I know how you feel. I felt the same way all the way until the anesthetic took effect. My big fear about the surgery was the anesthetic. But I told myself that it was no different than putting my head on the pillow each night. I had no guarantees either way but since God has continued to allow me to awaken every morning, I believed that waking up after the surgery would be no different. And now that it's done, I'm excited and confident that it was all worth it. And you will be too.

Sounds like you have a lot to be thankful for! One day I pray that God blesses me with a grandchild. I'm looking forward to chatting with you as the days progress. Hope you're feeling better and stronger every day!

    I am scheduled for May

I know each doctor is different but 14 days is a long time to be on liquids. I had two days clear liquid and 5 days not-clear liquid...then progressively more solid for the next two weeks. I'm 3 weeks post op and I'm eating things I could eat before the surgery. I'm sure glad I'm going for my first adjustment on Wednesday. But in answer to your question, I think you're just going to have to give your body time to heal. And you've got quite an active job too. Take care...hope to hear great reports from you as you get your strength back!

Hi! I'm new to this group! I'm almost 3 weeks post op. I go Wednesday for my first adjustment. I'm sure needing that adjustment too. Had a not so great day yesterday. Emotional eating...I was procrastinating about something I needed to do...so instead I ate...I didn't go crazy with sweet stuff...just more regular stuff than I should have. What the heck is a "DH"????

I am so overwhelmed with nutrition information now and I need help actually translating all this into an actual menu. I'm trying to use mypyramid.gov but I can't figure out how to change the daily calorie requirements to what I need. Has anybody else had success with that site or maybe another one that can help me plan meals and menus?

Thanks Ms. Apple! And happy belated birthday to you. Feeling great! Horrible gas pains early on. Couldn't sleep in my bed for over a week...had to sit up in the chair. I still have a little tenderness around the incisions and most definitely the port. But every day gets a little bit better. I'm really anxious to start some exercising (other than walking). Never thought I'd be saying that! My daughter is looking forward to working out together.
