Doing well. Just trying to make it through 2 weeks of liquid. It helps that March Madness is on during the day, lol

ajmitchener got a reaction from Frustr8 in United Healthcare - question about the 6 month supervised diet req.
You mentioned that all you have to do is weigh in once a month? Is that a hard requirement? I too have UHC and I have been seeing a nutritionist for ~9 months, but there was like a 2 month window where I didn't attend a session. Hoping I don't have to restart the 6-months.

I just realized that your surgery is today. Prayers up for a speedy recovery. I too was anxious about going under... oh and it was so much better after I took the drugs the hospital offered lol

I’m glad you’re feeling well! March Madness definitely helps. I’m back to work tomorrow so I have no choice but to be distracted from the liquid diet. At least the time will pass faster!

look for "March 2019 sleepers" original poster's phone messed up the title but it has a lot of people on it already and I think there maybe a Generic March 2019 one also. Trusting everything will go well for you!

DO NOT MISS A WEIGH IN! If you your weigh ins have to start all over again. They need CONSECUTIVE weigh ins.

ajmitchener reacted to Dashofpixiedust8 in Before and After pics Panniculectomy
Hey everyone! I had my panniculectomy on June 5th and here are my before and afters!
Stats:
Highest: 540 Size 38
Surgery: 480 Size 32
Panni: 275 Size 24 pant 18 top
Current: 248 Size 16 bottom and 14 top
15 pounds of skin removed
I am soooo incredibly happy with the results! I don't care about scars. I went from a size 24 before surgery to a size 16. AMAZING!
I want to have more surgeries done but I need to wait to get to goal first. My panni was so bad I had to get it removed before getting to goal.
My thighs will be first. Ugh I hate them!

ajmitchener reacted to Healthy_life in help with post op diet
All of us here have struggled with our weight. Diets did not work for us long term. This is the reason we had surgery....... Some things to think about and try .
Pre -operation weight loss:
I had a six month weight loss requirement by my insurance. Many people here are also losing weight without surgery to get approval. It's a more realistic diet plan. People in pre op phase can relate to what you are going through. They will be a great support system.
Pre op weight loss for me was 1000 to 1200 calories 60 to 100 grams Protein - 50 to 80 grams carbs - Carbs came from mostly plant based sources-( no bread, rice Pasta or processed food)
My dieticians bariatric recipes - Nutrition should be flavorful to sustain it long term:

Food log and drink plenty of water:
Log your food in myfitnesspal or lose it . It becomes habit and much easier to do over time- If you are not logging you have no idea where your calories actually are. You can't out exercise a poor diet - Knowing your calories and macros will make a difference.

I don't have UHC...(Anthem Blue Cross). I also have to have 6 dietician visits, which are all done over the phone once per month. My RD told me whatever I do, do NOT miss a visit because I'll have to start all over again. You might want to check on your policy requirements
