Anyone using the Baritastic App to track nutrition?

Agreed, it was one of the recommended apps by my nutritionist a few months ago. I'm 49 days post-op and it is a central part of my journey. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

How long until you could tolerate meat?

I was very fortunate with meat tolerance. My program has you on soft foods (fish/shellfish, ground meats, stewed meats) after 1 week post-Op. You continue this for 3 weeks and starting week 5, start introducing regular foods. I was able to handle that schedule with no problems. I'm 49 days post-op and had a filet mignon and flank steak last week. Have been eating seafood, chicken, and turkey for weeks. My program suggests, trying a food per schedule and if it doesn't agree with you then reintroduce in a couple weeks. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    DRIVING AFTER SURGERY

My surgeon was okay with driving as long as you were no longer taking meds. Fortunately I was never in pain and didn't have to take the prescribed pain medication or Tylenol. However, I waited 10+ days after surgery before driving because I was so lightheaded/dizzy due to dehydration. Once I got that under control, I was ready. Make DS public or not?

Wow, I'm shocked your boss asked you that considering HIPA laws. I work for a fortune 100 company, had VSG on 10/17/18, and was out 4 works also. Global HR specifically told me NOT to share with company why I was going to be out. The determination of paid medical leave (short term disability) and unpaid leave (FMLA) is handled completely separate by MetLife who then informs my employer when I will be out and come back. Of course, I was to coordinate workload coverage with my manager. Co-workers provided sentiment and encouragement but no specific questions. I've told a few close friends, journeying, and making videos so I can keep track of my personal journey and may upload sometime in the future but for now I've chosen to put my energy into my recovery/journey with the option to share later if/when I desire. It's the best balance for me. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

soft food 2 weeks after surgery?

Oops, forgot to mention....Soft food also included grounded meats ( think hamburger, sausage), and chicken. However, I add beef and chicken from meals in the Instant Pot. Also, no liquid pre-op diet except for clears the day before surgery. Pre-op liquids was only for patients with a BMI >50. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

soft food 2 weeks after surgery?

Hi, new to the forum. I had my surgery 10/17/18 and was on liquids (3 protein shakes and water with broth, SF popecycles and SF Jello for snakes) week one with soft foods for the next 3 weeks then reg food starting week 5. Soft food consisted of seafood (fish, crab, etc), soft cooked veggies (but no asparagus yet), and the usual sliders. Pureed stage was only for Bypass patients. I ate all the above with no issues. Down 30lbs as of this morning. I'd advise to follow your program but listen to your body. As they advised, if u try something that doesn't work initially then stop and reintroduce the food a couple weeks later. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
