I’m doing quite well. I walked 70+ laps before discharge and worked all my gas out. I’m post op day 3 today. I was able to take 75 oz today (between Water, Protein Shakes and power aid zero) I also tried 10 spoonfuls of cream of chicken Soup that my nutritionist recommended. That filled me up quickly.

The pain has all but left, and Tylenol is all that I need now. (There is still quite a bit of visceral pain that is very positional though, but it’s very tolerable)

I started this journey having 288 pounds to lose, and, as of today's weigh in, I now have less than 100 pounds to lose to get to goal! I'm very happy!

So I've reached my first goal. I didn't really have a number on the scale in mind, but a jeans size in mind. I want to be at a size 8 and can finally now fit in them. I'm only 4 months out and hope to still lose some weight because of the statistics of people who regain a little. I want to lose more so I when my weight settles, it settles at the weight I'm at now and not 10lbs and a jean size higher. I love my new body and vow to take better care of it from now on so I don't go back!

No it wasnt. You have to remember that your body is really adjusting and recalibrating after a traumatic event. Don't be hard on yourself or be regretful. You have to also remember that you are not taking in a lot of calories and you are exercising on top of that. Your body may be in complete shock. Despite all of this...the scale is moving in the right direction. Now really ask yourself, without this surgery would you have really lost 6 pounds in that short period of time. If your metabolism is anything like mine ..its a whopping hell no!

I was sleeved on 11/28/18...and I know there will be some mental play here...so that is why I decided not to weigh myself. I have been the big girl for so long, I don't want to be in bondage by the scale anymore. That is why I will say to you. You had surgery to free yourself. Dont imprison yourself again with the numbers game. Think about it...the scale will change...but your mindset has to change too. Be patient with you and remember you did this to feel better about you. Whatever is going to out that in jeopardy, stay away from it.

I hope I'm not preaching...but I want you to know that you're journey is just beginning..and if you work your tool and be patient...your weight loss goal will come to fruition.

    Hang in there [emoji8]

The only bad part of a colonoscopy is the prep! I cant drink the stuff they give you to clean you out. My last one I had pills. It was alot...like 40 pills. 4 or 5 huge pills every 5 min! But it was better than drinking the stuff haha

Jean9 reacted to Naughty Glitter Goddess in Who is sick of purees? Some fresh ideas...
Hey! I'm really sick of purees! But it's better than the liquid diet - that was brutal. I wish I never had to look at another Protein Drink as long as I live. I developed some serious food aversions on liquid because I was feeling so nauseous every time I ate something. So lots of things are cancelled. Moving on to purees. I'm doing much better b ut I still prefer to eat a large variety of food so I'm trying to mix it up a bit. Try some of these if you need ideas!
(my favorite continues to be refried Beans but I don't think I need a pic of that here)
GREEK chicken SALAD: rotisserie chicken, Trader Joe's tzatziki dip, black pepper, garnished with mint leaf (I food process the chicken and the sauce separately then mix them together with a spoon - it leaves just enough texture to keep me from going crazy - not a fan of chicken pudding)
I also do regular chicken salad like this with mayo, lemon zest, dijon, salt, pepper; here's a pic of both

For any of you who love oatmeal like I do, and also want to get in your Protein I think that I may have a recipe for you. Today I am 8 Days post op and I am on a full liquid diet. My nutritionist says that watery oatmeal was okay. So what I have done is the following:
I take a premier vanilla shake with a half of a banana along with a half a cup of quick minute oatmeal. I add nutmeg and vanilla extract, cinnamon. I put it all in a blender and I blend for a good 6 minutes.
If I want to have it then I will but I prefer mine to be a little bit warm so I usually put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. It is delicious! It's also a great way in getting in your protein and also getting some energy. I have been doing this for the past 2 days and I have to say that it made me regular and I have some energy now.

    Hi Everyone,

Had my sleeve one week ago and I cannot thank everyone enough for all the sharing they have done. These posts have gotten me through some really tough days and I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone!
I went through the regret stage, but knew that it wasn't uncommon and that helped tremendously! I have been forcing myself to hydrate and move around and today I even went back to the gym to walk on the treadmill for a while! I feel amazing, advanced my diet and just knowing that you are all here to support me (and everyone else) has been life changing! I know this is a marathon and not a sprint but having all of you in my corner means the world to me!
Thank you all so much and keep posting! It all matters!!!
    Hugs,
    Judy

Well, almost exactly 6 months post op (VSG 6/1) I weigh less than 200 pounds for the first time since...since I don’t know! College probably?
Feel great, no longer stressed about getting my Protein. At the gym 2 or 3 days a week, actually enjoy working out! Down 86 pounds, 10 inches in my waist (size 46 to 36), no longer snore, and have so much more confidence. My wife and kids are proud of me, for the hard work I’ve done and continue to do, and for taking care of myself. I’m off all meds, only taking Vitamins (instead of 2 blood pressure meds). My work is scheduling new professional photos for me because I don’t look like the person in my old pics anymore.
I always figured I’d be obese forever because I lacked willpower’s. I kinda figured this would fail too, despite my best efforts. But VSG does work - at least, it sure has for me!
