    Skin removal surgery

Tummy Tuck, Breast Lift and Arm Lift for me in Dec 2019. Yep, I have scars, and yep, I was hurting. Still one of the best things I've done, though 😎

    What is your why?

Mine is similar...I wanted to be able to put sunscreen on my feet without contorting myself.

    awwwwww...you look so purty!!! 😍
  4. Was planning on grilling some jerk pork for dinner tonite, but didn't realize it takes as many hours as it does! I've never done it on the grill before, only oven or instant pot which is way quicker. Sooooo am going to let the meat marinate another night and start grilling it tomorrow morning. Tonite was going to be the first time I broke out Mr.'s valentines day present he got me a few weeks ago: a super-cool food thermometer with a wireless transmitter. I think it was a subtle dig at my tendency to over cook stuff lol. (I haven't used it until now cuz I was intimidated by it, honestly) Anyhooo, since the jerk pork is moving to tomorrow's menu, and I had already psyched myself up to try out this toy, I decided to make some chicharron from the skin of the pork I was going to throw out anyway, using the thermometer to monitor the temp of the oil. O.M.G. I am in love with this thing. Only perfectly cooked food coming out of my kitchen from now on. Plus I like wearing the transmitter around my neck....lolololzzzz. Check out this perfectly crispy, crunchy goodness-ness (unless of course deep fried pork skin is not your thing, in which case, look away.) I ate 10 pieces (44g): 241 calories
  5. Beef and Sweet Potato Empanadas. I ate 1 (the one in my hand!): 197 calories. I can never seem to get the dough thin and uniform enough for patty/dumpling -type applications, so I busted out my pasta roller/maker...works wonders! Am thinking I could probably use this to roll fondant too 🤔 Hmmmmm..
  6. Ahhhh, the purée stage. Don't worry...it won't last long ❤️

So funny, when we were a the liquor store, I saw that bottle of vodka and thought how cool it was and that we we should get one in every colour. Had no idea it was a Bill Murray one.

I knew it! I. KNEW. IT. You and i will get along marvellously IRL. 😂😇😎 When you go through your stash, you can add them to our empties collection: LOLOLOL You can see a few empties of bottles of that wine I posted earlier... (This is the accumulation since about mid-January...and no, I did not do this all by myself)

I am by no means a wine connoisseur. I have no idea what they mean when they say full/medium-bodied with hints of oak, lavender, pine, chocolate, berry or whatever. I mean, what the heck is a floral note??? I only know sweet/not sweet or metallic/not metallic (if that's even a thing), LOL. With that said, I prefer NOT sweet and NOT metallic. I also prefer red hands down over white or rose, AND I like my red wine COLD (yes, I realize this is sacrilege for most, but whatevs, I like what I like dammit). I don't mind trying out new wines, so will give those a try if I can find them (thanks for tip!)...though the boys in the house don't mind when I don't like a particular wine cuz it just means more for them, LOL. Here is the one that is a household favourite that we buy by the caseload. And it doesn't hurt that its super inexpensive compared to similarly rated reds. And since I was taking a pic inside my fridge, I'm including some fridge-contents porn for those who like to peek into other people's fridges, LOL.
  12. I was never told to lay off the coffee pre-op (but I did anyway, sort of...i put decaf instant coffee crystals in my protein shakes...i figured since I was eating so little during those 2 weeks, I should try to to retain as much water as I could. But this was self-imposed, no one told me to). I WAS asked to lay off it for a month post-op though. But then they served it to me in the hospital so....🤷🏽‍♀️

    Pre op Diet changes

I ate "normally" right up to the night before I started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I felt a little hungry the first couple days, but then it was all good from there.
  14. Yep. My daily salad: 300 calories. But more beautiful (to me) than the salad is the absolutely gorgeous day it is today. Funny how after months of sub zero temps that a day not quite even in the double digits is a reason to rejoice. Ate about half before I got too cold and went back inside 🙄
  15. Me too! Add a couple spoonfuls of tobiko (flying fish roe) and it'll be as close to a California roll (sans rice) as you can get! YUM.
  16. LOL, who says you need to stop? So long as it doesn't send you on an anxiety spiral, weigh away! 😂

    From the album: ms.sss OOTDs

In attempt to address the growing cabin fever in our household (and because it was such a sunny cloudless day yesterday), we decided to take a family road trip to the....Liquor Store. LOLOLOOLzzzz. But not just any liquor store, but the downtown, lakeshore-facing flagship liquor store for all of Ontario*, natch. This should have been a pic of both me and the Kid, but Mr. was embarrassed to be seen with us and left the area quickly before we could coerce him to take our pic (he really should be used to our shenanigans by now). So yeah, that's me and Snoop Dogg, lololzzzz. Who'd of thunk he had a line of wines, haha. (That cardboard cut out was just screaming to be taken a pic with!) * <!--- BEGIN Breakout FYI ---> In Ontario, all liquor sales and distribution is controlled by the Provincial government. Outside of small batch breweries/wineries/distilleries, you can only buy liquor/beer from government owned and controlled retail liquor stores. On the bright side though, since the government controls it, the stores were deemed an essential service, and have stayed open throughout pandemic....AND they now have same-day delivery. The only thing though is that they introduced Monday closures province wide, which means that Sunday are really BUSY, lol. <!--- END Breakout FYI --->

@Arabesque: can't even tell that the bodysuit is a different material. I like it. I would like to borrow the outfit when you are done please. As for the shoes, I reeeeeeeally like the ones on the right. Maybe just bring a piece of plywood to stand on?...Even if you did sink/faceplant, you'll look fab doing it 😂. And no, no Snoop Dogg wine for me....I am always wary of products marketed by slapping some celebrity or other on its label. @Kris77: have you ever considered Henna? I developed an allergy to conventional hair dye (its the PPD in it), and have been henna-ing for a few years now. Pros: all natural assists to improve follicle health gives the hair the appearance of more body (cuz the active ingredient actually binds to the hair making it moleculary thicker) hair feels softer is not as noticeable when it grows out (vs. seeing the obvious line of greys growing on darker hair), very inexpensive vs. the cost of real dyes and/or salon costs Cons: time consuming: I usually have it on my hair for like 4-6 hours on application day. you'll smell like a pot head for a couple days it stains skin if you don't wipe it off right away (I often have orange-ish palms for a couple days if I don't wear gloves) it only comes in red, lol. (the lighter your hair, the redder it will be) In the before pics below, I hadn't henna-ed my hair in over 8 or 9 months so its pretty grey, lol

    Facial wrinkles

LOL so true. I haven't seen my face thin in about 10-15 years...so yeah, I def look older than that. lololzz.
  20. LOL, failed to answer your original question. I was supposed to wait 8 weeks (but I did arms too, so that may be a factor...)
  21. Ok, finally got around to taking a current pic of my arm scars, which are by far the worst of my plastics scars. NOTE: I am probably an example of the worser-case scenarios in terms of wound healing, most people will fare much, much, better than I do. So don't get freaked out! You can see in the before pic (taken 11 months AFTER PS!) that my scar is pretty red/purple and very RAiSED. After the first round of steroid shots, there was a visible difference about 1-2 weeks after. It flattened out quite a bit, and got less red. The skin around the scar also started to pucker a bit (which was something my doc told me may happen). I got a second round of shots about 2 months later, and now, two months after that, my scar is completely flat, even lighter, and the pucker/dimpling is gone. I am deciding if I want to go for a 3rd round or just wait it out. The injections HURT, man. Hurt, like tears in my eyes hurt. Anyhoo, here are the pics: P.S. FYI ...I have read/been told that steroid shots are more effective on hypertrophic scars (which I have) than keloids. So discuss with your doc if this is a route you want to go down....

    Lots of questions

Yeah drug testing is not something I hear/read about prior to WLS. I have read a handful of times of people saying that they were tested for "smoking"...but i dunno what exactly they check for. Regarding the inhalation of smoke (nicotine or otherwise), the main reason it is not recommended before surgery/anaesthesia is because it may lower heart rate, lower blood pressure, affect breathing or cause heightened airway sensitivity. All not good things to have while under. With that said, the effects of smoke inhalation is most present in your system up to 24 hours after smoking. So the sooner you stop, the better. Of course, it is your choice to partake or not, we are all adults here. Good Luck! P.S. I wasn't tested for smoking nor drugs.
  23. yummmmmmmm...i love all things deconstructed
  24. From personal experience: LISTEN TO UR DOC. I tried exercising too early, too many times, and paid a price (kept reopening incisions).
