    My ugly truth about WLS

The eating habits most of us were taught from day 1 were bad. We need to learn better relationship with food and realize food is just fuel to live. Eventually you will be able to eat more variety and better foods when the time is right but just for the first year it is best to get as much nutritious food as possible to get to the health weight and lifestyle; that is the whole reason for the surgery to have a better life. It's one year of sacrifice to gain many more years to your life and your future and as they say anything worth having takes hard work!!! You'll also take time to learn to enjoy healthier alternatives and feel better about food and find satisfaction in life from other activities as well. It is hard to break that Co-dependent relationship with food but it is very important to train yourself to be healthy and happy long term!!
  18. I got the b12 that dissolves on the tongue found them half price stocked up!!!
  19. Omg can't believe it 4 more sleeps and I'll be off to hospital to have the RNY BYPASS surgery. Just hit 260 today so that's 60lbs down with 70-80 left to my end goal I'll be happy to get under 200 but I think 180-190 will be perfect for me Been through a lot over the past 12 months but finally getting to the end and then to start the next chapter!!! just felt like sharing my positivity!! thank you all. MIKEY x
  20. ONLY general medical issues not elective surgery. WLS is still considered elective unfortunately and our public health system requires a ton of tests and waiting up to 3+ years for any kind of WLS and only for the most extreme cases. I've had to get insurance and pay some out of pocket for my surgery but only a few tests to go through. Whereas Europe/UK they have figured it's best to give people surgery and save millions on obesity related illnesses...

    Confused...

I feel it is the best available surgery and best chance of long term success and to help cure my diabetes and other issues. I didn't want to worry about having 2 surgeries if I went to vsg and had any issues or complications.
