How Has Gastric Bypass Surgery Effected Your Marriage?
I'm glad in away I'm single so my life won't revolve around anyone but myself so that when I have the surgery all I need to worry about is myself. I need 110% focus to do this for myself and my future and then look for a partner once I'm fit and healthier

Insurance approved my Gastric Bypass Surgery!
That's Bull it is life changing surgery and if you're BMI is high enough it's actually urgent surgery in Australia all the surgery are covered all it takes is a surgeon to approve you first and then wait a minimum 12 months if you're new to private insurance

At my goal weight a week away from 7 months post-op
You're my inspiration. I really hope the RNY does the same for me to really restrict the amount of food and help me to eat very little and the fact the vitamins will make up for the lack of food is great. I really wish that I could live off not much at all. I think some people eat too soon and don't allow time for their little pouch to settle, I will be doing liquid and purees for as long as I can and smaller meals as not to stretch the stomach. I heard from other people you also need high dose B12? ALSO I'm currently a big water drinker always have been it will be hard to drink in small mouthfuls compared to my current amount. I believe exercise is important but take it easy in the first few months. But in the end is very important to eat protein rich foods not bad food ever again... I'm 320 my goal is 180.

Please help me
Best things to do is do a clean out grab everything bad out of your house and put in the bin if you can't donate it. Go to supermarket and go shopping only buying what the doctor ordered. Don't give in to anybody or any bad influences. You need to be strict with yourself. This is your life. Your future. Nobody else can fix you but you. Don't give up, but if I'm honest that one day diet was not a helpful thing I'm unsure why your doctor allowed that because the whole idea of the preop diet is to show you can make the right changes otherwise the surgery will not work for you.

ANY ADELAIDE PPL looking for buddy
I'm still debating on which dr to choose but I think it's between Ashford surgeon and Dr DONOFRIO. I haven't heard much about any others except I think Bessel but he was asking a big price for tons of other stuff I can live without. would love to know if anyone here from Adelaide going to have surgery this year or been through it recently so I can ask questions I'm very curious. I've noticed most people here are American so I'm just looking for Aussies to chat with. but about myself I'm 34 male single 183cm 142kgs or 317lbs and I'm still waiting for the 12 month cut off before I can have the surgery so just doing as much research as I can. My goal weight is 185LBS thanks for listening. I'm very close to organising my first consultations!! Getting so much inspiration from everybody doing so well with the RNY BYPASS!!

Can I afford the post-op diet?
I agree with everyone I've been keeping my eye on specials on multivitamins and protein powder I've also noticed TUNA is great and cheap to buy and alot of protein very good for you as little as 80c for a small 90gm serving which would probably be one meal and under 100calories per tin. Find things that are really high protein and cheap to buy in bulk once you find a certain product you will definitely start to notice the savings every week. If you can go to local markets find cheap fruit and vegetables also. Go to Costco or ALDI and buy in bulk to save $$$

Long term questions
So 15 months to goal weight. Where did you start at mate? And I agree it's best to stay away from too much carbs

No weight loss 11 days after bypass
Is she following the diet to the letter? No sneaking food when nobody is around? Maybe join a gym or walking group to help activity. If it continues go see the doctor
