  1. Exactly^ I see the SLEEVE as half an operation! Bypass goes further to help with long term maintenance!
  2. There's a few different versions of a bypass available from loop to Ds to mini bypass but the most common and best one seems to be RNY BYPASS... You'll find many ppl being converted from sleeve to bypass anyway bypass may be more invasive but it's overall the best for better weight loss and long term loss and also very good for those with diabetes type 2... I've opted for bypass because it's more restrictive and it does change your metabolism for the better. The sleeve was originally designed as half an operation which could later be finished off with a DS but since then RNY BYPASS has taken over as the gold standard with years of success behind it! Google is your friend do your research!
  3. You'll find dozens of posts on revision to bypass on this site!
  4. Yes tuna or Salmon cans.. I've been stocking up whenever I see a good deal probably got about 50 cans so far as I'll be living off it eventually! Also stocking up on bulk protein powder: doesn't bother me I've got the proper protein shaker cups so there's no lumps just pure liquid protein!
  5. Exactly what my Dr said BYPASS is best for diabetes2 sufferers!
  6. Many being revisioned to BYPASS due to this!
  7. Depends on your own personal situation but the bypass is the more aggressive and better for long term weight loss. There numerous pages to read but one thing I must say is SLEEVE can cause reflux or GERD where bypass will fix it and many patient's end up having to be converted from SLEEVE to bypass anyway. I'm choosing bypass because it will help me as it's more restrictive and reduces absorption of calories but there's alot of scientific information out there! So Goodluck!
  8. Most people know BMI isn't the best scale even my doctor said that!

After watching a medical documentary about the benefits I've started taking them as I do not eat enough fish at the moment. Paid $15 for 200 capsules @ 1500mg each *Eco friendly * Mercury tested * polysorbate 80 free * EPA 270mg & DHA 180mg Thanks guys
  13. I think your hubby is underweight or very very fit... I'm 6'0 and my dr said my goal could be 185..
  14. So jealous I've got 5 months to go to my surgery date!
  15. This is exactly why I chose RNY ! So many ppl end up revised to RNY anyways
  16. Talk to the head nurse supervisor ask for a different nurse ASAP
  17. I find it funny that is ok for young girls to put filler all over their faces and implants in their butts and all that for no medical advances yet it's taboo to get help and have WLS?
  18. You can actually continue to lose up to 18 months everybody loses differently.
  19. Get rid of the bread your body will reject it after surgery
  20. Baby will need iron! But definitely discuss with your obgyn and explain your surgery
  21. I feel weighing every day is obsessive. You do realise your weight changes throughout the day and it can take a few days for your body to feel the effects of the past days. Your weight can fluctuate every day and throughout the day just due to water weight or if you're bloated one day or you eat something different that day. Once a week, first thing in the morning the same time every week so it's most accurate. Then there's people that carry weight in different parts of the body and that's when you should look at the inches rather than lbs. Just keep your mind focused on hitting your liquid go and protein goals don't stress too much
  22. I would look at BMI for one but then realised it's a very vague scale. I did find guys my height and built and see what weights they were so that helped. Even though I've been OBESE most of my life I did get down to 200lbs about 7 years ago and for me being 185cm and big boned family that WEIGHT was good but I feel I could have lost more so this time I'm starting now at 315 I feel this time my perfect weight would be ultimately 180-190 my doctor surgeon he basically said he would be happy just to get me to lose 100 to get to 215 or better so I feel personally just set goals as you go along each time you get that goal see where you body is because it's not just about a number is also about your waist line and your frame and your overall feeling and of course how you look in the mirror and that you feel confidence! Then there's medical to be healthy risk free of course! My surgeon really just wants me to lose weight there's no major number but every pound that comes off I'll be healthier with lower BSL BP etc As I said above set small goals and then beat them. my first goal is to be under 300; then under 250; then under 200 Goodluck
  23. Very important to get a good sleep to help body digest
  24. No logic.. living with obesity will shorten your life every single day!! Complications are few and far between but even so they aren't fatal lol
