  1. That's a very subjective question every body will have different experiences me personally I had very little urge to eat for months and my shakes kept me happy for months...
  2. I'll update myself. Started HW 322lbs surgery day Oct 28 : 257lbs. Current weight 166lbs Maintaining between 166-170lbs. Feeling great.
  3. I completely understand and I'll be keeping an eye on my weight and I know not to get complacent and that over time I'll have to adjust my intake to see what works for me long term.. It's all trial and error and will need to figure it out as the months and years go forward
  4. Oh I slept for like 24hrs straight was in pain but good drugs via the IV..
  5. I can only speak for myself but the bypass has totally changed the way my body metabolizes food.. even after 6 months post op I still have days I'm not hungry so I don't even need to eat much to get full...
  6. Hope all goes well guys had my RNY BYPASS over 6 months ago best decision ever
  7. You may be required to restart the whole 6 monthly weight in
  8. Protein drink usually give energy boost or sometimes I'll add a teaspoon of coffee if I need caffeine boost. Not sure what pre workout includes?
  9. Go back to the beginning start looking at everything you are eating start making better choices
  10. If you've hit a stall or plateau you need to look closely at your calories and your carbs and protein.
  11. That's true some don't even have a goal just monthly check in of weight...
  12. How much are you hoping to lose
  13. Generally people get lazy or think that just because they lost a decent amount of weight they can start to indulge but no you cannot healthy eating and living is a life long process. Just like on 600lb life they go oh I've lost 100lbs time to pig out and I'm like no darling you've still got 300lbs to go if you start to get complacent and think I'll have one treat it can easily turn into multiple treats and you can go right Off track. You have to have very strong will power. Other reasons is living with people who continue to eat junk and keeping junk in the house is not a good idea. There are so many bad influences in the media but you can just drive past the takeaway and go to the grocery store, I'm still amazed the amount of people on my 600lb life who have never cooked a meal and eat take out everyday like how can you even afford to do that...?? I got rid of every little bit of bad food out of my house and never bought it again so it was not there and I've always been one to cook at home so I just studied healthy options plus I found a protein shake that tastes really good and I lived off shakes for months with the BYPASS I didn't even feel like eating for a long time. I've now lost 156lbs and feeling great. After I hit maintenance I admit I've had a few treats but I still keep an eye on my weight and everything. This is a life long process you cannot think oh I've lost weight now I'll start to pig out...
  14. I've been very lucky with bypass haven't had to adjust any of my doses of medication but I am glad to be rid of alot of meds I no longer need.
  15. Try an electrolyte drink like Gatorade zero or hydralyte
  16. It is very important to do your research and learn about healthy food options before surgery it is bad to get surgery without preparation. I went for the bypass as my first surgery and for 8 months I lost 154lbs which is an average of 19lbs a month I was strict from day 1 but I had no craving or even desire to eat for months, I rarely get hungry and I feel amazing like a new person.
  17. Find yourself a good protein shake that will be your best bet
  18. 8.5 months out from pre-op & 6.5 months out from surgery not 1 complication at all just have to avoid sugar it will make you feel unwell...
  19. Yep small little poops now
  20. I take vitamins because I got the bypass the doctor will tell you what you need to take. I was able to lose 156lbs in 8.5 months and I wasn't doing anything that drastic just following a good clean diet with NO cheating.. Low calories. Low carb. High protein.
  21. I have to tell you mate I've lost and gained 100lbs before surgery I've lost 50lbs and gained it back before surgery only after the bypass have I lost over 150lbs and maintaining it now for a few weeks feeling great; yes the first few months you may feel not hungry and you may not be able to eat much but now I'm over 6 months out from surgery I can eat most things mate. Just have to take small bites. So it's not a problem forever just for a short term you can't eat alot.
  22. I don't have a wife but I can talk to mental health. I've successfully lost 150lbs+ and finally for the first time I like what I see in the mirror so yes it has changed my mental health and slowly gaining confidence.
