I eat the light baby bell, light laughing cow, 2% cheddar, and all of the light sargento slices. I am a cheese addict. I'm just thankful I didn't end up not being able to eat cheese after surgery. I eat cheese daily but as others have said its small quantities at a time and I haven't been having any issues. I'm almost a month out and I've lost 26 lbs since pre-op.

I eat a Light Babybel nearly every day and 2% cottage cheese a couple times per week and do very well with both.

I do plenty of cheese, mostly full fat bc it's lower carb without the additives. I do do the light laughing cow and light cream cheese, the rest full fat in moderation.
I love the Sargento ultra thin sliced sharp cheddar! It's so flavorful you just need a tiny bit. I put a half a slice in a slice of turkey with some cilantro or green onion, squirt some mustard on it---I love mustard and have like five different kinds I cycle through---and roll it up!
Also love Bleu cheese, goat cheese, Roquefort, Gorgonzola--all those big flavor ones you can use small amounts of and add for a BIG flavor!

I'm almost two years out almost a year at goal, but I've been doing cheese since about three weeks out!

Yes, very normal. I just tried to survive and get used to my be limited ability to eat. It seems shocking to survive and still have energy on so little food. I didn't have energy for awhile after surgery. I was on clear liquids two weeks post surgery and it was a struggle to get anything down. Seven years later I can drink tons of liquid at a time and feel fine. That took a months. I still never really get hungry, but do get full and uncomfortable very quickly. At this point I can eat like an egg and a sausage, anymore and I feel uncomfortable. I think I have a lot more restriction than most however. Hang in there it gets better, just take care of yourself and rest. Cheers. It's not easy at first but it gets way better and you'll love your new life.

Why buy something you can make yourself. Homemade Soups are far tastier than any you can buy and they are so easy to make.
All you need is stock, veggies , herbs and spices and a blender of some kind.

    Broccolli

I’m scheduled for the 12th of November. I’m really excited to sit in an airplane and be comfortable. Tie my shoes without propping up is next in my list, and last but not least be able to get off the floor without rolling. Ugh!

MMM ... I just threw out 19 bags of clothing between 4XL and 9XL.
    Very pleasing feeling.
This comes on top of the 22 pairs of dress trousers and casual slacks I sent to charity earlier on in 2018.
I also parted with some very over-sized tailored shirts from 2009-2016 purchases.

Yes I had to stop All of the local Walmarts had super low clearance like 1.00 for a pair of jean shorts on summer stuff so I racked up and photographed it all how I look in it now and ill do before and afters on my instagram page.

I bought one shirt prior to surgery that I now fit in (just posted about it in NSV). I bought a second shirt while traveling a European women’s 12 (stunning white silk) that I have hanging up where I can seen it daily. I might not be able to fit into it until after I deal with my bat wings (the slowest lace I’m loosing).

Before I considered surgery, I was a bona fide shopaholic. I would see things and buy them without trying them on...thinking, yes, I can wear it. So my closet had lots of clothes in various sizes. Well, fast forward to three weeks post op. I look in my closet and start trying on all these clothes that I couldn't wear when I bought them and guess what...THEY FIT! I went from a 1X to a large and I'm beginning to think I could wear a medium. These non scale victories are awesome! The one thing I need to invest in is a good leather belt. I've worn out my old one and there's no more room for another hole

I do rent the runway unlimited, so instead of buying lots of things I will be able to rent new things in smaller sizes :) there are other companies that are similar. I have really liked it! Has helped me through my yo-yo dieting!!! However, that’s gonna be all over August 13th (gastric sleeve surgery date!)

My husband bought me a Green Bay Packer polo shirt in Large. My surgery isn’t until July 30th so I don’t think I’ll be able to wear it this year for Football season, but I’ll definitely be ready next year!

I bought a dress. It hangs were I can see it for motivation. When I feel like skipping a workout or having a cheat day, it’s there to remind me what I’m working towards.

I bought a size 10 lingerie set before I was even finished with my pre-op requirements, lol. It’s the only purchase I’ve made though. I hope to fit it eventually, even if my body tricks me and decides to go smaller than a 10, at least I’ll get to wear it for a few weeks 😂😂

I bought a medium dress because it was on sale for $6 , at that time I was still in a 2x but I figured I would fit it eventually. I now comfortably fit it.

I had a rough recovery. RNY sposed to take 90 mins to 2 hrs ended up taking 5 hrs cuz of scar tissue (lapband to sleeve revision in 2013, then rny revision 6 weeks ago). I counted the minutes until my next pain med was due. I was in the hospital for 4 days, as I wasn't drinking enuf and they had to restart my iv. I cried when the dr told me they were keeping me another day. I just wanted to be at home in my own bed.

It's now been 6 weeks and I think it's like having a baby - u forget what the pain is like! I'm 100% (by the week after my surgery I was 100%) and not regretting it at all. The day after I had it, I had diarrhea and a iv pump to haul around, and my bathroom was flooding so I had to walk down the hall to the employee bathroom (later, they moved me to another room, thank God - I regretted it. I woulda rather had reflux. Hubby kept reminding me I couldn't live with reflux anymore.

Having said that, most people take Tylenol afterwards and run a marathon by day 5. U won't know till afterwards. I hope for u a smooth recovery and less pain Good luck!

FreetheSkinnyGirlinMe reacted to xoxococojay in Why liquids only?
Because you will drop excess weight the fastest that way. But Protein Shakes will still give you nutrients so you’ll still be healthy. Not every dr requires it, but most do. It’s hard pre-op but much easier post op.

FreetheSkinnyGirlinMe reacted to CrankyMagpie in Why liquids only?
It's not even the carbs, though. I read a study, a while back (I can dig it up if anyone cares), that looked at liver sizes of people after low-carb very low calorie diets, versus standard very low calorie diets, and they were the same.
That said, once you make the transition into ketosis, you have a lot less hunger to deal with. So I see the "no carbs" thing as a kindness, rather than a medical necessity.
