  1. I have not posted in a while but wanted to "check in" and review info on fills. I read your post and wanted to reply. I did not have a fill until four weeks post op. I guess every doctor does things differently. My surgery date was 03/03/08. I have a 10cc band and just had a fill 11/20 to 6cc. It was a slow process as far as the fills go for me. Some people feel good restriction right after their first fill others take more fills to get the right amount in their band. Best of luck to you!
  2. i am 5' and was 185 before surgery. you will not be laughed at. my insurance-bcbs covered the surgery. you will have to go thru a sleep study and have other tests done before any decision is made. i found out that i had sleep apnea which i did not know. your md can put in the letter to your ins that the surgery is needed due to medical problems and list everything that you are experiencing. i also tried for years to take off the weight and could not do it on my own. it was the best thing that i ever did for myself. best of luck to you! deborah
  3. val, i was banded on 03/03/08. i was wondering how much weight you have lost? i have not lost any weight in a while and just a bit nervous. deborah
  4. I have a desk job but do get up to "run" around the office a lot. I took off 2 weeks which was just right. I have twins that are 7 so after working all day, I had to "meet all of their needs". Good luck! Deb
  5. Hi Shelly, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I am 8 weeks out and just love my band! Immed after my surgery, I had regrets due to post-op pain and problems with the morphine(sp?) but now am so thankful that my insurance approved the surgery and everything went so well. It is such a great tool. Good luck! Deb
  6. Hi Sherilynn, I am new to the group and think you look great! You have a smile on your face so you must be happy with your progress at some level. I have only had one fill since my surgery was just 8 weeks ago. So I don't have much to go on. If you have doubts, maybe get a second opinion from another doc. How much have you lost? Deb
  7. hi my name is deb and i am new to the group. i was banded 03/03/08 in rochester ny. i have lost 25 lbs since 02/27/08. i had my first fill on 04/17/08 and was pleasantly surprised at how painless and quick it was. i discovered this group while trying to find info online on how often you can have a fill. any info would be greatly appreciated.:wink2:
