  1. For sure! I start my liquid diet in a few days, I'm already on a pretty strict regimen leading up to that. There isn't anything out there I really want at present time. It's always like that, you start eating better and your cravings change. Definitely looking forward to the post op period!
  2. It's very difficult! My office is right next to the break room, and we're having our office thanksgiving lunch today. So. Much. Food in there.
  3. Thank you. Just received word that it was approved so now the final detail. 29 days and counting. Yay! Very exciting!
  4. Good luck! Hope approval is swift!
  5. Amazing progress, you look terrific. Good luck!
  6. Njgurl, those are hallmark symptoms of heart attack in females. Not to alarm you, but if that continues, I’d go see your doctor sooner rather than later.
  7. As someone that is undergoing VSG soon, there was some great advice in here. Thank you!
  8. Every program is different. Mine makes you come to 3 informational classes while you're doing all of your other legwork. (Psych evals, upper GIs etc) By my Pre-Op day we're expected to be very well informed.
  9. Mine is 10 days full liquid. It's going to be a long 2 weeks!
  10. I'm an ICU nurse, and have taken many a ring off. I use an elastic band (from a airborne mask) and use that method to get them off. http://www.assh.org/handcare/Conditions-and-Injuries/Hand-Safety/Removing-a-Ring It's going to hurt, but it's really the only way to get rings off if your hands are swollen short of cutting them off.
  11. I've seen these mentioned before. Is this bulk powder, or grab and go premixed?
  12. Cookies and cream was VERY strong to me. I ended up giving it away!
  13. Think less about comebacks, and more about his comments. Is he afraid of having you do the surgery? Is he anxious you're going to lose a lot of weight and leave him? Is he worried that you won't be able to do the same things together? But honestly, if he has always been unsupportive as it seems, just keep yourself focused on the prize. Either he will get in line eventually, or he won't. This is about YOU, and YOUR decision. GOOD LUCK, you will do well!
  14. I know, right? I start my 10 day preop diet on Turkey day!
  15. Just take it one day at a time. Don't worry about goals yet. When you're ready to set a goal, you will. Good luck with the surgery, I'll be pulling for you. I'm having mine on the 4th of December!
  16. December 4th!! I can’t wait!!!
  17. I just scheduled my surgery for December 4th. Looking forward to a new lease on life with you all!
  18. Thank you all for the comments and words of advice! I met with my surgeon today and we scheduled my surgery for December 4th, the day before my 40th birthday!
  19. My mother had Gastric Bypass with duodenal switch 26 years ago, she turns 70 this year. I promise you, she wouldn't have made it this long if she did not have the surgery. Them saying that people dont live long after bariatric surgery is patently false.
  20. Thats so true. I'm forever trying to get people on their feet and moving.
  21. I'm not super pleased about being cathed and intubated by people I work with. But... I have a great deal of confidence in their ability.
  22. Such amazing responses from you all! So glad I made the decision to post this topic. You have all helped to alleviate some of the apprehension I was feeling.
  23. Thank you all for the kind advice and encouragement! I've been researching getting sleeved for a few years. This is the farthest I've gotten in the process after I decided I need to do this for my health so I'm around for my wife and kids. Once I made the decision to go through with it, things have progressed fairly fast. Part of me is just ready to be done with the surgery, and on the other side of recovery!
  24. Yeah, thats good advice! Wish I could take advantage of it, lol. Good luck on your surgery next week!
