I went to solids at 4 weeks as well. I was dying for real food after 5 weeks pre op liquid only diet, and 3 weeks of full solids and soft foods. I slow cooked some beef stew all day. It was absolutely divine.

Great! Mine is December 22nd. I had my dietitian appointment today and it went well. I was a little scared and optimistic but now I'm getting excited after learning more this site has been helpful.

I just had my Psych Evaluation, what a joke. The email said to prepare a quiet area for 1 hour. The teleconference was not more than 5 minutes. The therapist said they need the other 55 minutes to write up your report. All she did was ask me questions. I guess it's just a formality.

I was sleeved 12/22. My doctor said "if you can smash it with a fork, you can eat it", which gives me many more choices. I'm still drinking my Protein Shakes and having a meal each day which is about 1/2 cup of food. I don't understand how so many doctor's have difference bariatric directions. I'm sticking to the plan, not eating much and having very slow weight loss, compared to everyone else. Then I think to myself, I've never lost 17 lbs. in less than a month before which brings me to a happy dance.

Hey all! Just joined today. I had my Gastric Sleeve done on 12/22. I hit my highest weight in July 2021 and lost a fair amount of weight through low-carb eating and not eating junk. In 16 days, have lost 24 pounds from my pre-surgery weight and am down a total of 50 pounds from that high point. I am feeling amazing and have had no issues with the full liquid / pureed food. I am now on soft food. Feeling great, no issues so far.

    Hello all.
Had VSG done 12/20/21. (Date was pushed up 1 day from original planned date)
I’m 4’11 and was 186 day of surgery. I followed through on most of my preop liquid diet. Clear Liquids, Protein Shakes, and non starch veggies only.
Gas pains were the absolute worst. Tried to walk and they were gone in a week. Was feeling better and all of a sudden I got sharp Migraine nausea retching and vomiting.

My daughter ended up getting sick too throwing up bile. Was told she had COVID although I was negative and we hadn’t gone out but to 1 othodontist visit.
I went to ED twice for IV and pain meds. It’s been terrible getting a hold of my bariatric team still no word.

Better today, but still nauseated and now having earache.

I have regrets. I thought I was mentally prepared and this is so uncomfortable.

Im allowed to eat purée today and I’ve done ok with just strawberries and ice chips.

When I had my first Bariatric doctor visit and decided to do this, I told myself I was not going to say anything about it to my friends. Not close friends but groups of people we hang out with at times. Well, I've been telling a lot of people and I kick myself every time. I just can't shut up about it. Most people look at me like I have 2 heads and go on about how it's extreme and scary and oh "you better be aware that it will change your life a lot". I want to snap back and say, don't you think I know that and don't you think I've done a lot of research on this before I going in to it? Most don't have any clue about it. My fat friends look and feel guilty when I start talking about it, like I'm going to try and talk them in to it.
I guess, I'm just excited and I want to talk about it. Then I get disappointed when I get weird, uneducated, ignorant responses. That's why I love to get on this site. It brings me back to why I'm doing it and how great my life will be and that I'm not alone.

I'm 3 days post op. I feel nauseated most of the time and lots of gurgling in my stomach. I hope this gets better soon.

I'm about 18 months out now, and I remember feeling the same way the first couple weeks after surgery. I kept asking why I did this to myself. I struggled to get the Protein Shakes down because I found them so disgusting and I felt weak all the time. After about a month the weakness got better. With trial and error I found Protein products I could tolerate. It's definitely overwhelming at first. Now at 18 months out and 190 pounds down I have to say it DEFINITELY gets better and I know it was the best decision I ever made. Hang in there!

Instead of chicken broth I did a chicken Bouillon square in hot Water. Tastes soooo much better. Lifesaver

Post op day 5 and today was a better day so far than all the days before! I am on clears still but can hold 3 ounces at a time sipping sipping. I hit my 64 ounce goal easily today and I can’t tell you how much better I feel adding salt free low fat chicken broth in today. I feel weak easily and just walking zaps my energy. Hope everyone is doing great!

My surgery is tomorrow afternoon. Please send good karma my way. The surgeon said it was going to be more challenging because of previous colon surgeries. I’m super excited and nervous at the same time. I hope to get off some of my meds, get rid of some pulmonary, blood pressure and back problems. I have struggled my whole life with my weight.
I have really gotten a lot of good advise from this site. Thanks to everyone who is on here. At least I’m not alone in this adventure. 😀😀♥️♥️

I'm actually having a hard time. Not with the pain but with nausea and headaches. I'm thinking, what did I do to myself. I'm sure it will all be good later. Thanks for asking. How are you doing?

I'm 9 months out. It WILL get better! I get dizzy when either I'm dehydrated or I eat/drink too much too fast. I'm guessing yours is because you're dehydrated and healing. Just keep sipping as much as you can. Warm liquids went down better for me early on. You might want to try broth or tea. If you feel that you can't stand it, call your doc and let them know how you're doing.

    Good luck!

I'm right there with you. I had RNY on Dec 1 and I truly was ill-prepared for the pain. At 25 days out, I'm still having a fair bit of pain and look as if I were pelted with golf balls at high velocity. I'm grateful to be on purees at this point, because at least it's more satisfying than liquids. But I'm beginning to wonder when this whole experience begins to become more pleasant.

Post op day 4 VS and I feel so much better today. I am able to get off the Anti-nausea medication so far today - knock on wood - and I’m tolerating Water and Gatorade zero very well. I am going to combine 1/2 Water with 1/2 Protein Water today. I’m supposed to be up to 64 ounces yesterday I got just under 20 but I think today I may actually hit that goal. I still have a ton of gas my tummy is always talking grumbling and squeaking I’ve named it bubbles because it has taken on a personality of its own lol. I have no interest in food none in fact Christmas dinner made me dry heave just the smell. I’m not having any cravings but Water and Gatorade although when my husband popped open a Coke and pored it over ice I’m not gonna lie I wanted a drink so bad and it smelled so good. Funny thing is I gave up soda around 2 years ago so I was shocked by that one. Not sure what I weigh yet so I’ll post it when I weigh in today. I was never on pain meds - just Tylenol- I haven’t had anything since post op day 2. I live with ice packs seems to help. Also I know my stomachs had enough because I now sneeze when it’s full which is not fun l. Hope everyone here had a Merry Christmas and is feeling better!
