I’m not sure if you are a man or woman or how old you are. Could it be a hot flash? (That’s what it sounds like to me!)

I don’t know what obesity level 2 is but my highest weight was 365 and my surgery weight was 327. For me - the risks of NOT having surgery were worse than having the surgery (gastric sleeve).
I had no problem with the anesthesia and my only problem after surgery has been really bad heartburn, but even that is getting better every day (surgery was 10/10). Best of luck to you!!

I love hot things also and I’ve never had a problem! Now 5 days post-op I have such heartburn that I couldn’t imagine having ANYTHING spicy right now!! But every day it’s getting better so I’m hoping to add some spice soon!! Good luck!!

Oh man, the struggle is real.
I used the Smooth Move tea. It's best to take it the night before, pray to your deity of choice and try again in the morning.
I will never ever again laugh at anyone who complains about Constipation. I really had no clue how bad it could be.
Pushing is bad for you so I would sit there and "crown" for a long time, then I would make the mistake of pinching and that log beast would quickly retract back in like an unlocked tape measure!
After two days of the same, I actually started rocking and bouncing on the toilet until I finally gave birth and nearly wept in relief and triumph.
When I finally emerged from the bathroom, my dad was wearing headphones...

Yes!! It felt like my chest was been squeezed from the inside out. I had to get a prescription from my surgeon for acid reduction. Worked like a charm.

Band to sleeve revision, 10/10. Just returned from a one-mile walk. Gained 8 pounds of Fluid during hospital stay. Finally back to pre-surgery weight. Had major Constipation for the first 3 days, but normal now. Feeling as well as could be expected. Slight nausea, little pain, well managed.

Partners, can’t live with them can’t kill them. So, just love them and love ourselves first. I heard that somewhere!

By the clear light of day, I can tell you with certainty: those posts will still make me angry, even when I'm feeling better. They made me angry when I was eating real food. They'll make me angry when I'm eating real food again. I might find it easier to brush them off, then? But these aren't new emotions. My being willing to say "feminist rage" on this forum is the only new thing, this week.
@GreenTealael is right: it's better to be alone than to be with some of the partners I've read about on here. If my partner were half as awful to me, about all of this, as some of the stories I've read, I'd be single again. (I love him. I'm committed to him. But I expect him to treat me as an equal partner and someone worthy of respect. Happily, he does, which is no doubt a large part of why I love him.)

CyndieRI reacted to Creekimp13 in 1 Week post op and already hungry?
The myth that surgery eliminates hunger is still rampant.
Back in the day, when options for anti-nausea meds were more limited....everyone was nauseated and no one was hungry. It was true...but not because the surgery created a lack of hunger. It was true because before anti-nausea meds and well balanced Protein Drinks, and a better understanding of how to beat dehydration.... people had a much rougher time.
This hasn't been true for a long, long time and people still propagate this myth. These days lots of people make it through surgery without even a hint of nausea. (I did)
Of course you're hungry....you're literally starving your body, under a time of physical stress...and it's noticing.
One week post-op, I could have eaten my own foot...I was freaking starving.
The good news is that you'll feel better soon. Once you start to add more substantial food back into your diet and get your calories up...you'll find that you're satisfied and feel pretty normal eating a lot less.
But yeah...sorry about the hunger thing...you were lied to.
Not to say overall hunger doesn't improve somewhat, I believe it does. But it sure doesn't eliminate hunger when you're eating starvation level calories.

Its not ad bad as last post.
If you followed operation procedures, you probably stopped drinking for a while. While you have an IV drip with Water, you are probbaly just very thirsty. The need for water can sometimes be disguised as hunger. I felt extremely dehydrated after the surgery, because one can still not drink to the next day.
Hunger, is actually a part of being human, and a sign that your body is doing what is supposed to do. I understand now that one of the contributing factor to my obesity was that, I hated hunger, I detested it. So I would eat whenever I was hungry. But being hungry is just a sign that your nody is using stored nutrients and energy. You are supposed to be hungry between meals.
You will get hungry, but you will soon learn that you will fill up very fast. The most importan this is to follow you diet instructions afterwards. Your body is going to need Protein, and its the most important part of your meals.

    The one big S....STARVATION:)
You've been on a starvation diet...you're going to continue to be on one for a while...and starvation causes HUNGER. Actual real bonafide honest to God hunger. Concentration camp hunger. Dying of starvation hunger. Donner pass hunger. Sally Struthers Children in Africa hunger.
Not only have you deprived your body of the calories it lives off of everyday for basic metabolism for a couple of weeks on your presurgical diet.....you have now added the massive caloric demand of needing to do lots of repairs (healing).
Some people don't experience hunger after surgery. Hormones? Nausea? Luck?
    Many others experience extreme hunger.
I could have chewed my leg off.
And it's tough...because it's extremely important that you follow your instructions to the letter right now. Just have to take it a day at a time. You'll make it.
After I started eating around 1000 calories a day, I felt a LOT better. I eat about 1200 calories a day now...have no hunger. It gets better.
    Hang in there!

Ugh I’m so sorry! That’s the last thing you need. Try to put it out of your head and know you’re doing this for you and you only! Besides, if this was easy we all would’ve done it years ago!

Spent some time with my aunt and sister today and they were SO judgmental. Kept saying having this surgery is cheating and that I’ve only lost Water weight (30 lbs of water weight??) and that they only respect people who lose weight the “hard” way. I got so mad I almost walked out. Like this isn’t hard??? Ugh. Rant over.

I am officially an October sleever no more. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea during my sleep study, so now I have to wear the CPAP for 30 days and receive a clearance for my pulmonary doctor before I am cleared. My follow up with him is the end of October; therefore, I will more than likely end up in November baring nothing happens with my EGD tomorrow. I am really low key disgusted, but it is what it is. I can't even take my class while i log my 30 days using the CPAP... I really wish I could, and at least it would be out of the way, but...I can't. It has been my pleasure being amongst you Octobers Best of luck to you all!

I would like to update everyone on my pre op liquid diet because I posted a couple days ago freaking out. First I am going to say if I can do this you can all do it!! I think we are all similar in som way to our issues with food but trust me I thought I was going to die. I cried and cried and cried the day before and the day I started. It hasn’t been easy but it is getting easier!!!! First day I think I was in shock! I went through the motions not realizing what the hell I was doing. Days two and three I struggling baddddddd. My body was clearly detoxing from all of the crap and I was feeling it. Day 4 I was super emotional and didn’t feel great but not as horrible as day 2 and 3 but was still upset because I didn’t think t was going to get better. Yesterday was day 5 and today day 6 and at this point it would be ridiculous for me to “cheat”. I can’t believe I’ve come this far. I can’t stay on a “diet” for two days but I can do full liquids for 6 days???? My doctor requires full liquids and nothing with chunks at all, not even Soup so he is pretty strict. I’ve lost 8 pound and my surgery is in one week. I also have a husband and three kids that i grocery shop for And cook for. It has been a challenge but is getting easier every day. You can all do it trust me!!!!!

@br3n I work in at an office job as well. Doctors told me at least 2 weeks, possibly longer, so I'm trying to make a plan for 4. Maybe I'll be stir crazy by 5 days! On the other had, having 4 weeks off doesn't sound like a bad thing either :-)
In terms of preparation I'm walking 1/2 hour almost ever day. There are still some bad habits to eliminate, but I've got a time frame for those, too.
I got my first bad reaction to the surgery from my father-in-law. Trying to let is slide but the judgementalism is hard.
