  1. I do not chug but i have found myself trying to take 3 drinks in a row from a bottle of water. Two back to back i can get away with.. Always.. without fail when i attempt the 3rd one, its an automatic reaction to stop mid drink stick my tongue on the bottle to keep water from entering my mouth and then i sit and wait with liquid in my mouth for a min before i swallow. It is the funniest thing.. Good thing it hasnt happened in public LOL.
  2. I have not. Good Luck and feel better!

Did you take pictures? I was up at 630am but barely running around. LOL I am just now drinking my coffee before i go out into the madness for the day.
  4. Let me start this thread by first apologizing if it is too straight forward. I know we all need support including myself and we are all here for support, to get to know one another, and to be there to pick one another up when we fall. Gastric Surgery is a life changing surgery! It will change the rest of your life for the rest of your life. It is a physical change to your inner workings of your body.. and ONLY your body. It does not change how we deal with food. It does not change how we choose to eat. A choice is a choice that solely rests on our shoulders. Our stomach was changed on the inside to restrict the amount of food we can consume at one time. That is it!! The rest is up to us. Please do your research before having the surgery. I have seen so many posts on here where people think because the stomach was altered the weight is going to magically drop off over night. Magic is found at Disney Only :). The hard work, exercise, controlled eating, limiting carbs avoiding junk food. Making the right choices when it comes to fueling our bodies is solely our responsibility! Let me add here.. i am far from perfect! I have struggled time and time again, hence why i am a part of these boards! Read the boards before surgery from newbies! And what they have experienced immediately following surgery. Every experience is different but you will know what you can expect, and if it does not happen to you.. Guess what? You are one of the Lucky ones!!! Count your blessings! Each and every one of them! Each day is a new day and a chance to put in a little extra effort to meet your end goals. Speaking of Goals! Have some! NSV ones, Scale Ones, Measurement Ones... We all have something we look forward to on this journey. Make lemonade out of lemons! Have fun with your new tool. Take advantage of it and baby it at the same time. Follow your doctors orders! We are not all doctors here! This is a major procedure. There are reasons the doctor puts us on the food plan that he does. It is not to punish us. It is to make sure we don't put a whole in the new stomach that is still stapled and healing. Seek out a therapist if you are struggling with emotional eating. The folks on the boards can give tips, but you really need to get to the root of that, and that may require a doctor visit. Yes Accountability is a great factor to have on the boards, and it is great to vent, but if you are truly struggling with emotional eating, then you truly need to seek a provider in your area to help you get through it. There is so much information, tips, and advice on the boards! Take advantage of it. Take time to read them! Be a part of the community and respond to others that may be having a down day.. It is expected! But please please before you take the plunge on this life changing surgery know what to expect. Know what might happen and be prepared for it along the way. Rant over! If you made it this far.. Thanks for reading. I just wish some folks would read up on something they are investing in and all the pros and complication possibilities so they know exactly how things may play out. With all my love and a Merry Christmas to all.. Jazzy
  5. you can do this. Take it one day at a time and keep moving in the right direction. I would suggest you see a therapist to help you with emotional eating so that you do not fall down the same path. Good Luck on your Journey.
  6. You look Amazing!!!
  7. Good Luck! Start tracking your intake. Dont just assume the gain is from the meds. You still have to intake more than you expell to gain. The meds arent going to automatically add the extra weight. It may cause you to eat more to cause the gain, or retain water.. but evaluate what is actually causing the gain and address that. Maybe you need to drink more water to rid your body of more toxins ... Good Luck!
  8. I hope you are feeling better.. I am only 6 weeks out and still learning how to take meds so they dont come back up.
  9. Make it with cauliflower...you can make.the bread ..just like pizza crust then make.grilled.cheese SW 306.6 CW 259.0 GW 135
  10. Everything i put in my.mouth today did not agree with me. I did not bring anything back up but.my stomach has had a queasy feeling since last night and everything today taste metalic even my water...i tried to finish the day with a SF popsicle. Still weird aftertaste when done and queasy tummy... Any ideas? SW 306.6 CW 266.8 GW 135
  11. Tu..on it twice a day..my surgeon precribes it for first 3 months..its a light nausea not enough to get sick..maybe its the weird taste in my mouth..metallic
  12. i am at 6 weeks..but i think its.my stomach..almost everything I put in.my.mouth today is making me nauseous from water to beans..i threw my oatmeal in the garbage this morning after 3 small bites. Even n9w drinking my protein shake its making me queasy
  13. you have done a great job. 90 pounds is really good. Unfortunately this isnt Disney.. The magic stops there.. we have to do all the work! Dont be so hard on yourself.
  14. Awesome Job! Above and Beyond... you absolutely went above and beyond with information you did not have to provide.. I totally appreciate you even though it doesn't pertain to me lol.
  15. That is Awesome! Welcome to the Losers Bench. I was in the hospital for 2 nights but that is the protocol for my Surgeon. He does the leak test during surgery and then the day after. Once the leak test is done you can start liquids.. If all goes well on day one after surgery in the hospital and you are up and moving around, going to the bathroom, etc. Then on day two post op you can go home.
  16. Good Luck on your Journey. I was self pay as i did not have insurance that covered it. I did all my research, researched the Dr. to see his stats, successes, and such. Did a lot of YouTube watching, and READING a lot of the message boards will also give you a lot of insight on how people are doing. The one thing i can say, is if you are ready, you will know it, you will not second guess your decision and you will be prepared for whatever may come.. Do your research now while waiting that way you will have all the extra knowledge they may not tell you during the consult.
  17. Question? What am I missing? Tonight i went back to dance class (ballroom) for the first time since surgery. I made sure to get all water and protein in.. I even took my dinner with me and ate it at the studio about half hour before class. I had fun, a good time, but i did get tired a bit.. but more importantly while on the way to the car, while talking to another student.. I was starting to feel nauseous. Any ideas suggestions?
  18. Thank you for the motivational reads this morning!

you are doing fine. This is a tool and not magic. We still have to do all the work. 30 pounds in 40 days is amazing! Just keep at it and you will see the weight come off.
  20. Have you tried pinterest? I would also check Hungry Girl. She is really good at remaking some really good recipes into a healthy version.
  21. For this reason alone I bought a new Calendar Journal for 2019. I am only 5 weeks post op, but i know tracking is my downfall. I am not always on my phone to be using the app to log food. I work all day, and have ballroom dance classes right after work and get home late. I need to be more stringent on tracking now.. or i am going to be that girl in support groups not understanding why i am not losing, but yet not having a clue as to how much i am eating.
  22. I would recommend calling your doctor. I know mine showed up the night before (Nov 7th) and did not show up again until yesterday (Dec !7th) I am hoping for a normal go of it, but we shall see.
  23. Good Luck on your journey!
