What is the best time?- May be TMI
So i have this issue ,..major issue with constipation. I ended up calling my dr yesterday because for over a month i have been going once a week and then its like an act of congress to go.. I am having to use something, sometimes more than one thing to get this crap ( no pun intended) to move along LOL.. Anyways.. my dr yesterday said to take an enema last night( it was still an act of congress) and then to take ducolax every day for a week to stimulate the intestines, then to stop it once my body started to go normally again. My question is: Should i be taking this before bedtime each day or in the morning? Is there a difference, a time better than another! I should just call the Dr. back, but sometimes i feel like the office gets annoyed when i call LOL.

Just letting my non-surgery related frustration out
I agree, you did the right thing. The worst thing on earth is to get conflicting directions from those who are in charge and those who think they are in charge. It happens all too often. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing.

NEWBIE ~ from Reno
I did not, but welcome to the site!

Post your daily complaint/gripe.
Are you on anything else for it? I take doculax and Metamucil.. with the occasional nightcap of Miralax. not on anything for it. Normally when i cant go i have to take something, smooth move doesnt work.. colace doesnt work. Swift Kriss works and suppositories work but i dont want to take it all the time.

3 weeks post op VSG
Be careful. My doctor did not release me for excercise for 6 weeks post op. and that was dancing. He said only walking for the first 6 weeks.

Post your daily complaint/gripe.
My gripe today is not being able to go to the bathroom. I started taking a probiotic yesterday so i hope it kicks in soon. I am over this constipation stuff.. It is driving me crazy!

While in the hospital, I decided not to focus on discomfort but meeting people and asking:
Very good Post! Thank you! Something I really needed today!

2 weeks today and 1st day back to work
Try decaf. I have been drinking it since September and I do not miss it. I even make my iced coffees with decaf.

Ghrelin is back (and mad at me)
Try crocheting or Sudoku. Those things can keep you busy for a while and you can stay warm. Drink some hot decaf with some protein shake in it and you will be satisfied and busy!

Ghrelin is back (and mad at me)
That may be head hunger you are dealing with.. Try doing some activities instead of staying at home so you are not tempted by the kitchen.

Recipes with Macros
Does anybody know of any good cookbooks out there for Bariatric Eating that already have the Nutritional info and Macros listed in the recipe. My biggest downfall is tracking. If it were just food items, it would not be as bad as creating recipes to find info needed to track.

Trim Away
Have you tried tracking what you eat to see where your slips may be? I find there are always hidden calories. I dont even like eating out anymore.

Apple Cider Vinegar Discussion
Good Luck on your journey! I was going to add some advice but from what i have read here, the other posts have it covered!! Great Job to all!! I am the worst at tracking! I track on paper but not to the T.. I eat right, but dont track. I know at the moment it wont get me in trouble but i know for sure it will down the road. Funny part of this all is i HATE creating the recipes of what i cook in order to track what i eat. If it was just logging food in general i would be ok doing it. But its the creating stuff to track that is my issue. I seem to not have time or dont want to be bothered with it UNLESS i am curious which shouldnt be that way. Go Figure.. I do audits and analagies all the time through work as i am an Financial Analyst, but i cant create recipes to analyze LOL

Sleeve post op advised no supplements needed
My surgeon did not start multivitamin until 4 weeks, and calcium and iron was not started until 6 weeks. I trust my team as well and did exactly what they asked of me. It could be due to extreme swelling of the stomach the first month. You can barely get liquids down, never mind a supplement.

Pills stuck
I hope you feel better soon! I would try getting chewables, or crush them and put them in something you can eat and hide the taste.

Self-pay in Maryland?
I am not in Maryland but I did self pay in Florida. I did not have insurance at the time i decided to get this done. I do have insurance now, and they actually cover all my vitamins and b12 100%. Hopefully I wont have any complications that require something else. For me, I decided to get a credit card with 0% interest for 18 months and that was the end of that. I put the whole surgery on the credit card, and now i pay it off weekly, monthly.. My goal is to have it paid off before the year is up.

Horrible pain and discomfort
The food got stuck! It happens to me when i do not chew well enough. I am sticking to softer foods until i can learn to chew to the point of paste.

Best snacks or food to eat to help loose weight
There are a lot of recipes out there that can be made. I did a low carb diet prior to surgery and did fairly well.. i am actually about 18 pounds away from my lowest on my low carb diet.. then i fell off the wagon, hence the surgery. I consider the tool my wagon that makes me stay seated!

Certain Foods
I shop for two other people. We try not to keep "bad foods" in the house to avoid tempations, but it is not always the case. I am lucky that these things dont bother me because i used to never eat them before surgery.

A little scared
You are more than welcome anytime!

Rewards
Get some leggings. Those tend to fit better as your weight changes and you can still wear them after you drop some pounds.

Pregnancy after wls
It was literally the first they made me do on surgery day. Called me back and handed me the cup Maybe the HCG levels were not high enough to detect yet! But that can be scary!
