lol my surgeon just yanked them all off and was like "they're really hanging onto you!" by the end of a few showers, most weren't even covering the incisions and were just hanging there. which is when i filled in the spots with calendula. my incision lines are super thin and i don't think they will be visible at all in a few months, honestly. i'm super happy with my surgeon and i'm excited for this october's next phase.

I was told to moisturize to prevent scabbing and aid in the prevention of scar formation. I didn't have any scabs at all. The Steristrips came off quickly on my abdomen, but a little slower on my arms. As they got wet and peeled I yoinked them off.

Yes, I had steri-strips. They stayed on for about 2 weeks and slowly I pulled them off as they were peeling off. So, like as the strips came off, I was to fill in the gaps with moisturizing agents.

Just had my 7 week followup. One more week of compression garments and then he said I can burn them. LOL.
I have my final followup in June. During which time I am consulting for breast implants, a butt lift, and inner thigh skin excision for October. HOLLLLAAA.
Also cleared for ab exercises! Let the buffness commence.

For those that had a TT.... this is weird but have you stuck your finger all the way into your belly button? LOL. I put calendula cream in there still and decided to see how deep he made mine and it is pretty deep! It also felt really weird. O_O

I had a brachioplasty on the 19th. I don't know what your compression garments look like but I just ordered this and I love it so much better. My bariatric office didn't care because I exceeded their weight loss expectations by a lotttt; they said I would only get to 165 at best. The plastic surgeon also had no opinion. He said I can do it whenever I feel I am ready. My weight has been between 129 and 133 for 6-ish weeks now and my dietitian said if I lose more weight, I need to gain it back so if I go lower post-plastics, it won't really impact the plastics because I'm supposed to gain it back. If that made sense. I am one year post-op today.
If I wanted insurance to pay for my Tummy Tuck, I would have to be 18 months post-op. I don't think they'd approve it anyway since I don't have rashes or anything so I'm just paying myself now.
I'm so ready for this. I had a breast reduction in 2017 and I am SO GLAD I did because my boobs would be SO DROOPY after all this weight loss (they were a 48H and taken down to a 46D.... and are now a 36B). So even if I lose (or gain) a little more weight... I doubt it will have any real impact on my skin.

I have my arm lift in less than 3 weeks. I'm going to come up with some badass story about my scars. Scars don't bother me at all (better than saggy skin and stretch marks, imo), but I'm still going to tell people I escaped prison through barbed wire.

mousecat88 got a reaction from amithistrose in Scar Tape or Cream?
Yeah, my surgeon told me to massage the sites I have currently when I shower. I use calendula ointment once a day and scar cream once a day, as well. I am not really pressed about the appearance of these scars... but I do want to minimize the ones that will be on my arms since they will be fairly visible. The ones I have currently are covered by my bra.

So, I am using some scar cream on the scars from the bra-band skin excision I had done several weeks ago. It really doesn't seem to be doing anything, but I am continuing with it anyways.
BUT, 1oz was 30$. I am having a TT and arm lift in 3 weeks and 1oz will NOT last very long and I don't want to spend God knows how much on cream! I hear the tape is a good option, so I may go with that. I have been reading that you can use the tapes for 3 days, take it off, wash it, and reuse it. Is this true??? Seems gross. How does it continue to stick and how does the silicone remain effective?
    Any links to good tape?
    I gots questions. lol.

Mind you, you can't tell when I am in a bra. The only time you can tell when I am clothed is if you see my cleavage... there may be an extra wrinkle there. My friend is like... don't even worry about them because you don't walk around on your knuckles like an orangutan so they don't dangle and anyone who sees you naked should appreciate you. Maybe her advice is best.

I know a few people with implants and they were all told they basically have a 15 year max shelf-life at best (saline and silicone alike). My ex saw me yesterday and outright said my "boobs look terrible like deflated sunny side up eggs" so now I am, of course, even more self-conscious. They truly don't have any volume; just skin... which is why I think if he took off the excess skin which causes INSANE AMOUNTS OF WRINKLING, I would just be completely flat. It would be kinda' awesome to be totally bra free whenever I wanted, but also would be nice to fill out some cute shirts again. I'm really torn on this. Maybe the best thing to do is just hold off and gift myself in a few years as a 40th bday present if I still want them. I can roll up my boobs like a fruit roll-up. That's what they are like. LOL.
My guy does not do fat transfers. They are apparently illegal in a lot of places now because they are dangerous. I don't have anywhere to take fat from anyways. lol.

I ate a shortbread cookie, Ferrero Rocher, and a cordial cherry last week at our xmas work potluck. I puked, sweat, and sat on the bathroom floor for an hour. That's the only cheat I've had. And I suffered for it. lol. Oh, and I did have boneless wings about 2 months ago and those made me sick... too much breading on them.

I was told to keep my incisions moist... at first with Neosporin or Calendula or Aquaphor until 2 weeks post-op... now I use Calendula or Vitamin E oil. I also put Cetaphil lotion on on occasion.

this is the extent of my scarring on my arms. looks lighter actually, but I'm in a dark office right now. lol. that line underneath is just from the seam of my compression garment.

I know my friend said with saline there is the chance for rippling, as well. I'll do a consult on it... I'm not sure my comfort level is quite there yet.
And yes, my ex is banned from the boobies for sure. lmao.

I do not at all understand the shelf life on implants. I mean, what are the reasons for explanation? So, it could be capsular contraction, rupture or implant illness. Capsular contraction rates are diminishing as the cause is now thought to be known (bacteria from skin surface inside the pocket) and surgeons are mitigating that risk (insertion site, new technology etc) Rupture if a big freaking deal, especially with silicone, so it's not like that will happen to most women (or else who would get implants). And implant illness is controversial in and of itself, and not common on a % basis. I feel like it's a CYA thing, so people aren't upset if they do have to explant.
But most importantly I hope you ex has forever lost the privileged to ever see your boobs again.

I avoided eating any carbs for so long but finally started eating whole grain bread about 5 weeks ago. I was scared to start eating carbs because they were my "vice" and I didn't want to get "re-addicted" to them. But now all I friggin' eat is bread! Yesterday I had two slices of bread with Peanut Butter and cream cheese, and two slices of bread with butter, and some lentil Pasta. That's it. I eat a lot of bread every day in lieu of veggies or meat or anything else. It started with me making those toad in the hole things (eggs in a basket), but now I just toast bread and put some kind of spread on it. My mind cravvvess bread. I am not gaining any weight, but I am also eating basically nothing else besides bread or whole wheat crackers so it's not exactly nutritionally balanced. This is exactly what I thought would happen!
I think I need to finish out the loaves of bread I have and put it back on my "NEVER AGAIN" foods list since I just can't seem to control myself. I am like a pigeon. Do you guys have any foods you know you can tolerate but are just not eating ever again for the same reason?

Coloring your hair would probably be 3rd or 4th week. The incisions/scar tissue gets tight and you have to keep stretching it and massaging it out. Holding your arms above your head that long would probably be uncomfortable. I do a few overhead tricep extensions and lat pulls at the gym and it does feel tight and I am 7ish weeks post-op. But that's a full extension and not bent, which your arms would be while coloring, I presume.
