    My lawn...help!

    I might suggest that you check and see if the ground is dry under the dead grass. I have seen this too before. Here in the NW. I get cranefly. I take a bucket of soapy water and pour it on the brown area. I continue to water heavily and if green appears it may of solved your problem. Also if you have had very warm weather it may be that the tank it is creating heat and burning the grass. ( perhaps not down deep enough) Have you ever seen this before? Good Luck. DeAnn

    Christmas Lovers Thread

    MyChevyGirl - J 271 / C 267 / G 225 -4 DH and I decided that we will take our kids ( 2 sons and a daughter in law) to Vegas for there gifts for Christmas. It will be fun to go on a family Vacation. I am really looking forward to it! so now the plan is to figure out how to creatively put together there gifts. I then only have to get for my parents and two nieces and then one gift for the gift exchange! so I guess I'm almost done.

    Gone For Good Club- August 2006

    Mychevygirl - H 380/ J 351.5/ C 267/ CBMI 45.8 (-112.9 lbs total, -3 this week) Great week. BMI went down to 45.8 Yeah!! My three lb loss was help by my nieces ! while out boating & camping this weekend they kept untieing the float island and floating off and calling for me to come get them. So off I would swim a 1/2 mile to get them. The last time they did it I ask why they were doing it. They said Auntie you said you didn't get to go to the Gym to work out and would have to swim a lot so they said they were helping me!!!!We figure I swam at least 3 miles over the last weekend. Gota love those :angel:!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby gone to Reno for Hot August Nights.. me hot August nights in my boat! never before would I of gone by myself or taken the boat or motor home!     prayer requests for LBT'ers

    Thank you for prayers and thoughts. My dad should be coming home today. It was due to our heat, and kidney failure. He retained so much fluids and it put pressure on the heart lower his BP. Thats what we are told at least! This past year for my parents has been very hard. With many trips to the ICU unit. Each time we place him in GODS hands! His time is not done! God has a special plan for him. AMEN!

    prayer requests for LBT'ers

    Please keep my Parents in your prayers. Some of you may have read in the past about my father. He is back in the hospital. we are not sure what is going on now. His BP is running very low! 42/38 when he was taken in, it is on the rise today 90/45. My mother is suffering from arthritis and in a lot of pain. It gets really bad with stress. My father is a quadriplegic and has been for the past 42 years. He has lived longer than all his Dr ever expected him to. He is a very powerful man. He Loves life and his family. I thank GOD daily to have him in my life. My mom is a Amazing women! at 24 years old she had 4 children under 6 and a husband paralyzed for life. She opened her own childcare center and has had more than 4000 children attend our center. Now retired and sold the center.( thats why I don't have a job right now!) They have done many young family counseling for families stuck with spinal cord injuries. Just a little info on two amazing people!

    I would love to start shopping for my family now! But I have a big problem! they are all getting to old. Oh how I miss having young children in the family. My Sons are 27 & 21 my daughter in law is 26. ( she will always get a Barbie from me!) and no grandchildren yet! ( boo hoo). I just need some ideas for them. I was thinking of a family trip to Reno in January. Just paying the room for them and maybe airfare. I just think it would be fun. any other ideas?

    Gosh if you lived in Gig Harbor then you most likely know where our beach property is... just out side of Key Center. Right by Penrose state park... I took the boat into Gig Harbor this weekend. You should see the Narrows bridge. They are building a new bridge right next to it.

    Gosh it's been some time since I've posted anything other than my Wednesday weigh in. I have been having a great time experiencing new and old things. I'll start with last weekend. As car lovers we had a three day Good Guys Northwest National event. I saw many people who had not seen me since last year. They were surprised! I even wore shorts and tank tops to this event. This past weekend Thurs, Friday and Sat. I took our Motor home and boat by myself to the family beach property. My two sisters met me and we had a girls three day camping and boating weekend. Gosh! drove the MH over two bridges ( I closed my eyes on the small bridge but made it fine! lol)and launched and loaded the boat. I feel so confident in my self. Yesterday I spent the day with some friends at their lake property, while DH & DS were at the Pacific Northwest National Drag racing event for the past three days. Never before would I go anywhere with out Rick (DH) I needed him to always be there for me. I love doing all this stuff and never did because of my weight. Now I"m doing things I love. Watch out next year I"m skiing!!!! and I can't wait!

    I am checking in today for September Challenge: -1.8 current weight 276 Looking for 255 by 9/13. I seem to be very tight this AM not sure why the difference today. Gosh I tired! youngest son turned 21 yesterday! Had 25 people at the local bar had a great time!

    C 276.6(-103.5 lbs total, -1 this week) I had my second fill last Wednesday. Earlier this week I was down to 273 what the heck is going on.. At least I'm down.. Maybe the increase in work outs I don't know! but I'm down! Hope the same for everyone!

    Exercise Today

    My question is,what do you all have to eat before working out?My trainer wants me to eat carbs! I try to eat 1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal. But it is very hard to get down early in the AM. I am also suffering from Charlie horses at night! so the suggestion was to eat bananas. Will I don't think I can have more than a half of a small one. You think that will be enough. My doctors program is NOTHING WHITE to eat. Hope I can get some ideas.. Heading out for 7 AM work out. I love going to the gym.. Never in my life would I have said that before!!!. Catch you all later!!!!

    Day 5: no sleep

    Amy, one thing I found that helped me the most was heat and liquid Tylenol. But just remember try hard not to be wonder women when you begin to feel better! I did and got a two week set back. Good luck with your band.. I truly believe it is the best thing I did in my life for myself... ( OK maybe 2nd... hubby could take first place! ) Welcome to band life! the band journey begins!

    a bad day

    Well I just need to share a bit! I was having a real struggle yesterday. It was the first day that it has happened since March 4th when I made the choice to go forward with my surgery! ( which was May 4th ) I had a really hard time staying on the right foods! for instants I ate 1/4 of a toasted cheese sandwich! yep bread! I know better than that. But before I realized what I did it was down! and then I make the little ones popcorn for there snack... and here I was popping it into my mouth! I could not believe it! then I started the head games of will you blew it! you can go ahead and continue. Last night my family went out to dinner to celebrate my parents 49 th wedding Anniversary! ( if you read past post you knew what we have through the past year, And know why it was so important!) Any way when I walked in ( late because my close were to big!!!!:omg: ) and I had to find something smaller to wear! :clap2: my family all gave me such compliments that I was embarrassed. Any way back to the bad day... I ordered a shrimp cocktail ummmmmm! and that was all I was going to eat.. well my niece who sat next to me ordered a chocolate chip mint mud pie!!! yep three small bites later with everyone watching... Did I let them down? I was so upset! the support they have giving me has been wonderful! I went for a long walk with my dear hubby along the water front and I told him how I was feeling, I was letting my self down plus him and my family... he said take each day as it comes!... don't look back! step forward! take yesterday and find out what you learned from it. I soul searched and found that I am still dealing with old habits that are hard to break. I need to take owner ship of what I did and start a new! I DID!!!! today I got up at 5 AM cleaned the house, did all the laundry, weeded the gardens, watered the lawns, and went to the gym I worked out for two hrs. one on my own! one with the trainer. I feel so much better today! I guess yesterday was just a learning day! Sorry if I went on and on..... just needed to share! I posted this on gone for good thread but really needed it in my journal! Friday was a much better day! I am doing and feeling so much better about my self... We even went to dinner with Becky & Doug (friends) at a bar and I wore shorts!!!
