They aren’t going to do a reversal because you changed your mind 1 day after surgery. You have to have serious medical complications for that I believe. And I seriously doubt people who get reversals are anywhere close to what they were pre surgery.

Take some deep breaths. Allow yourself time to heal. All these things you are worried about (fatigue and low energy) go away after a short while for the vast majority. Gallstones sometimes happens in rapid weight loss including in people who didn’t have wls. I don’t think kidney stones are a super common thing with this surgery.

Yes there are some horror stories on here, but they are very few when compared to the positive experiences. You seem to be hyper focused on the 0.5% of people w bad outcomes. Try to refocus. Read all the stories on here of people who say this was the best decision of their life. Give the surgery a chance. You went this route for a reason. I think you will really be happy when the weights starts to come off. Best of luck!

I didn’t take before pics because I hated the way I looked. My starting weight was 311, currently at 235.. I couldn’t take a serious pic! Lol

I had no issues with the cheese stick. I chewed it up really well before swallowing. I did heat the beans w some shredded cheese. I love Wegman’s! They don’t have them in Texas so I don’t get to go there anymore, but down here H-E-B is pretty awesome.

I’m not craving sweets either, which is odd for me. I do miss soda, but Decaf iced tea makes me very happy.

I was advanced to soft foods earlier this week. Refried Beans are amazing. eggs are an absolute no. That was the very first time I have vomited. tuna didn’t sit too well with my stomach, made me queasy. Will wait a couple weeks before trying that again. Cottage cheese was good for Breakfast. Cheese stick and applesauce for Snacks. Doing great on liquid intake.

I’m going to do full measurements this weekend but so far I’ve lost an inch and a half from around my stomach at belly button level and 3 inches from where my natural waist is.

I have a scale that connects to my phone but I always transfer my weight to my happy scale app. Happy scale takes your starting weight and goal weight and splits the difference into small goals. I met goal 2 today!!! I’m down 28 since starting the pre op diet

Good luck tomorrow! The first day was definitely the hardest. Day 2 was significantly better. I did have to swig some Pickle Juice in the beginning to combat a severe headache at one point. No headaches after day 2. The first few days I would take naps when I got home. sleeping through some of it helped. I do not recommend my Saturday activity of watching Diners, drive ins, and dives. I swear I could smell food cooking in my house (I live alone no cooking going on at all).

Don’t forget to get measurements weight and photos!!!

I watched last night and was so frustrated with the patient. Nothing was her fault. I understand support is important, but ultimately you are responsible for what you shovel in your mouth. And she was abusive, can’t believe he stayed with her as long as he did.

I checked in and was taken back to pre op in a few minutes. I was weighed. I had to put on the super stylish gown and no slip socks and give a urine sample (pregnancy test). I was given a package of chlorhexadine wipes to wipe off my body (infection is BAD). The nurse came in and started putting my info in the system and asking basic questions. She started an iv and took vital signs. She also premedicated me with Tylenol, neurontin (for nerve pain), Celebrex (anti inflammatory), and scopolamine patch (nausea).

I was then taken to the next area to wait my turn. The surgeon came and saw me and got consent. Then the anesthesiologist came and saw me and got my health background.

Finally they were ready and I kissed my mom and they rolled me down the hall. Made a stop at the bathroom (because no catheter was needed). I got back on the bed and the anesthesiologist gave versed (anti anxiety that has amnesia effect) as we rolled down the hall. I don’t remember even making it to the OR.

I’m excited about my grocery store find yesterday. First off, I live alone and left overs tend to get thrown away. Cooking for 1 sucks. I was walking around Kroger yesterday and decided to check out the fresh seafood selection (even though I’m still on liquids). They have the perfect thing for me! They have shrimp skewers with 5 medium shrimp for $1 per skewer. This will be perfect for when I am able to advance my diet to regular foods. In fact 1 skewer will probably get me a couple meals.

I agree w KimTriesRNY, ask for what you want. If you are just laying in bed thinking that someone needs to come walk you then you can push the call button and ask for help. You don’t want ice Water? Then say “no ice, please” when they take your pitcher to refill.

I walked around with my mom but really only needed her to take the squeezey things off my legs. If you have a reason for wanting a nurse to walk with you then just ask them. I would take my water pitcher with me when when I walked to refill it since I would go through the whole thing.

Nurses are there to assist you to do things on your own. (Unless you require more help for safety)

I cannot believe how well I’m doing. I’m 1 week post op. Was never given any opiates and never needed them. I used neurontin and Tylenol for pain on the day of and day after surgery. I’m honestly shocked because things normally don’t go easy for me in anything. I still don’t feel hunger. I do struggle w getting fluids in because I wasn’t a drinker before. I have been getting in the minimum for this stage but need to work harder on this.

I know you must so getting so excited!!! I do recommend having someone stay the whole night w you in the hospital. I know this seems obvious but some people send their family home because they think that they are just going to sleep all night. I was up constantly to pee, even though I was severely dehydrated. Dehydrated as in I’ve been a nurse for 20 years and have only seen urine that dark on dialysis patients. Every time you get up someone has to remove the squeezers on your legs and unplug the iv machine, trust me you cannot do it yourself. I would’ve hated calling the nurse every time I got up.

I’m so excited for everyone! I know some have been having pain issues and I so hope it clears up for them soon.

And I must say, my mood is improved. I’m just happier now. But that could be that I’m not at work 😁

Are there any comfort foods that can be modified to fit your diet? Like air fried chicken and loaded mashed cauliflower? Tacos in lettuce leafs? I’m sorry I know those are lame suggestions that you probably already know.

I went through a lot of stress a couple years ago. I swear I was going to throat punch the next person who told me “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle.” Wish I could say something to help.
