  1. My surgery is tomorrow. I am feel calm. it is very weird and I don't understand it. I am hoping to keep this feeling up until they wheel me in. I have packed my bags with books, Ipod, comfortable bra and my dreaded glasses. 8:15 AM can't get her soon enough.
  2. I have just come back from the movies and I went all by myself. I was quickly reminded why I don’t attend movies anymore. It was $9.25 for just me! Once the movie got started there were some little twerps behind me. Don’t get me wrong – I love kids. I have one of my own. These kids proceeded to start talking. Since I have had NOTHING to eat today my nerves were on edge. I had to ask them twice during the movie to be quiet. I felt like an old biddy – I wanted to enjoy the movie. Then on the way home I almost ran over a cat or a dog. I couldn’t tell since it was dark and I was going 60mph. I was startled and shocked – I am a animal lover and the thought of my running over a pet would have sent me into a anxiety attack (on top of not eating for 24 hours). I arrived home and opened my tailgate of my SUV to get out my work computer and there and behold I had run over a frog. Not good. My lucky husband came out and quickly got rid of it. I felt bad but I could not see a frog in my driveway. Oh well enough about that. I don’t feel incredibly nervous or excited about my surgery tomorrow. I think I am a little numb right now. I am sure it will become incredibly real when arrive at the hospital. Did I mention that they moved up my surgery to 8:15 AM. Which is great for me – get it over with. My husband and I have to drop my daughter off at the neighbors so that they can take her to school in the morning. On a lighter note I have lost almost 20 pounds befoere surgery. I am pretty proud of myself. Bye the way - I AM STARVING:mad2: Ready or not here I come…..

  4. I went to the beach this past weekend tried my best not to do a carb overload since I have been good. I did a buffalo chicken salad with dressing on the side one night and a grilled chicken wrap the next night. I was dying for a piece of cheesecake but I resisted. Don't know what I am having tomorrow night since that is my last "chewing" meal for a while.
  5. Now that is a "Hell No" for the chitterlings. Sorry gals - I just can't.
  6. I was born in NYC then raised in North Cackalacky. I have been known to eat grits (like when I was 3) but won't touch them now. Ya'll can have them!
  7. I can join the crowd. I am also an emotional eater. It has been hard to fight the urges, but they do go away. I either walk, go upstairs (my kitchen is downstairs), or just do something else. I also got rid of all my "good" foods at home and replaced them with healthy options. I can't so that much damage on sugar free Jello or SF popsicles. I am also a lady in theraphy and I have no shame - best thing I ever did with myself. Well, other then getting banded:smile2:
  8. Vegasgirl - I have 2 heart murmers and I had to do a stress test. It was not a big deal but it did take all morning long. I wish you good luck!
  9. I am having surgery in about a week. It is good to hear of a sucess story and encourgement just before surgery. I am getting nervous and excited all at the same time. Good Luck to all of us!!
  10. Here it goes....I went out to eat with my college girlfriends to an Italian place and normally I would order something with Pasta and drink a couple glassed of wine. Since dinner was at 6:30 and I get off at 4:00 - I still went to work out first. Then I ordered seared Salmon and salad and only 1 glass of wine that I didn't finish. I was really proud of myself for making better choices then I have in the past. Tonight I have going to by bosses' house for pizza and salad. I am going to try to load up on salad and maybe 1 piece of pizza. My next challenge will be this weekend - I am going to the beach and we will be having a good time - if you know what I mean. I am bringing cold cuts and I will try to find some low carb wraps. Hopefully for dinners I will do some sort of baked or broiled fish entree. I am trying not to lose the willpower right before the surgery:unsure:
  11. For what it is worth....I always weigh less after a long hard walk in the morning. I can only think it is the buckets of sweat that pour off of me.
  12. Hey Folks, Here it is the end of another weekend in July and August is just around the corner. I eat really good this weekend at a friend's house - steak on the grill. Spent today at the pool working on my tan and trying to stay cool becasue it HOT outside:shades_smile: Lana - Were you born in Hawaii? How cool. I am a NY'er by birth but I have spent most of my adult years in the south.
  13. It might be roseaca. I have that and I have the bumpy kind - the other is brokem caperlliaries under the skin. My bumps are mainly near my jaw line and some on the cheeks. It comes out in teams of stress and I could literally scratch my face off. I have a special soap and metrogel that I use. Metrogel will calm the inflammation and redness. the sulfer soap reduces the bacteria on my face (yikes) Good Luck in determing what this is. Good Luck on your weight loss!
  14. I am going to have to live with the non-beating star. I have tried and tried to upload it from photobucket and lana's site. Update - I got it. That took forever. I have no idea what I am doing.
  15. aw man....I saved as a gif. I took it from my desktop becasue I could not get the weblink correct. Ihave the photobucket account. I see the 4 types to use. What one do I use? Where excatly do I put it? Do I put the whole line or do I need to edit it? Sorry - I need so much help with this.
  16. I got it. it only took 10 mintues instead of an hour this time. it is amazing that I get work done trying to get this my signature right.
  17. I amso happy for you Nina. I am sure a great stress has been lfted. I am glad you have that part behind you. Waiting for the insurance approval is the most agonizing thing I ever did - except give birth:tongue_smilie:
  18. Nina - Great JOB!!! You are so talented. I like the one with the beating star the most. How de we add that o our signature line. I had the HARDEST time adding the one I hve now. I hope this is easier. I am with you on the hormone thing. I have an IUD and I don't get a period. But I get moody for no reason sometimes and I don't know if it is period hormones or me just getting moody.
  19. No harm done Nina. We are all in the same boat her and share a special bond. Soon we will be all sharing stories of the best broths and protein shakes in town.
  20. Moonandstraz - I would love to see some of your work as an alternative to the glittery style. I agree - most men are not into glitter:wink2:. I just have the glitter thing going beacue I was determined to make it work and it took me a freakin' hour. I am not the good with computers despite working on one all day long.
  21. What did I do today....I went to work and resisted the homemade ice cream cake during birthday time. I socialized and smiled and made a quick exit before anyone noticed that I didn't have any cake. I am full of nerves and butterflies as Aug 1st gets closer everyday. I have finshed all the pre-op work and I don't have a pre-op diet except clear liqudis the day before. I have a loving and supportive husband. I have a 3 year old daughter and A 6 year old Black Lab is my walking partner. I am thankful that I have met so many supportive people here.:cool2:
  22. Vegasgirl - I do agree with you totally. We do all need to get along here. MoonandStarz - I have to say that I had a hard time reading your banner and I didn't quite make out the slimers part until you stated in a post. You are creative and you put a lot of hard work in creating your signature. I think the part where you are here first does not give you rights to creating the August name. We all should have a say no matter who was first.
  23. Hi fellow All - Stars. My surgery is 15 days away and I am nervous. Today is the 1st day it actually hit me that I am actually having WLS. My stomach is in knots and feels like butterflies are flying around. The weird thing is - I don't know what part I am actually nervous about:confused2: I guess other then marriage and having a baby this pretty high up there for living changing events for me. Anyone else feeling this way?
  24. It works - I got my banner to work. It only took me 30 minutes:embaressed_smile:
