Farewell tour....
I would like to start off that I did walk 45 minutes and swim for an hour today. But, I did a little farewell tour to some foods this weekend. Last night it was Bojangles and today it was frozen pizza. I am done with the both of them. The Bojangles hurt my stomach this morning and the pizza wasn't really all that good as it has been in the past. I will walk tomorrow for 45 to an hour. I don't want to gain back any weight back that I have lost. I have a girls beach weekend coming up in July 24-26. We are staying the weekend and I am so looking forward to my last beach trip as the big girl. I will bring lunch meat, fruit and low carb wraps to keep my eating in check. The hardest thing will be keeping my drinking to a minimum. I will have to sip my wine very slowy. With that being said - I don't want to be banded before the beach. I hop the week after I get back will work. I have a feeling these next couple weeks of waiting for insurance will be killer:eek:

Explain to me how....
Thanks Ruby. Your reply helped me a lot. I really want the Band and I am ready for the new lifestyle. Every now and then I seem to doubt myself and think I can do this by myself by limiting the calories and portions. But then, I have no will power and I need something to aid my. Good Luck with your weight loss!

Explain to me how....
I am not yet banded but I am trying my best to eat a healthy diet as I begin my NEW life with the band soon. I have looked at some post at what people eat at different stages and I understand the reason for the clear liquid, full liquid and then mushies. My question is when in the "I can eat real food stage" - how much do you eat and are you really not hungry between meals once you get good restriction. Do you stay in a calorie range to lose weight? How do you know you are in starvation mode or do you ever go into that mode since there is a lot of padding on our bodies:wink2:. Thanks

Has anyone used Dr Enochs? How was your experience?

Scared of not losing
Thanks so much Gwen!! You have I now have a better attitude about getting the band and making it work for me. I do want a slow weight loss. Fast weight loss for me would be way too much change all at once and it would be hard to maintainif I have not developed good eating habits.

Isopure?
What about the powder version of Isopure?

Calorie Intake pre band and post band
My physc recommended me to start tracking my calories. I was surprised. I am 5"3' and weigh 276 and have been consume 900 - 1400 calories and excersing my buns off 4 days a week with no weight loss. Therefore I am willing to get the band to see if that will no what no diet has done. I wonder how many calories people were consuming before the surgery and after the surgery.

Did you have to pay for it?
I have had to pay for my nutritionist and physc vists because they are out of network. Did any of you have to pay for the Bloodwork, EKG, and Upper GI testing? If so, how much should I expect to cost?

Scared of not losing
I am very close to getting the Lap Band. I am in the middle of all the pre op testing. I am having doubts that I will lose with the Band. I am scared to tell people in fear of them asking me everyday have I lost weight and how much. Has anybody not lost weight with the lap band? I know the band is a tool and not a magic wand. I do realize that I will change my diet.

Curves Workout
Is anybody a member of Curves? How long did you have to wait to to go back after being banded? Are there any machines in which you can't do right away. Thanks for the input.

How often do you weigh yourself??
I never weighed myself until my scale landed in my cart at Wal-Mart and it calls my name every single morning and night. I think if I could bring it to work and no one notice I would. I never weighed myself until I brought the dang thing into my house and now I can't get off it. I have not been banded but I know it is best to weigh only once a week. I will try....maybe next year...since I will be already losing weight.

Looking for a Buddy in NC
Hey gang! I live in a small town outside of Raleigh. I am a mother of 3 year old daughter and a 6 year old dog. I have a great husband who supports my journey. I am just getting all the testing and evualtions done in June. I am nervous and excited about surgery. My starting weight is 280 and I am 5'3. I wear a size 22/24 and would love to shop in the misses department - size 12 sounds nice. My surgeon (Dr Enoch) said I will lose 100 pounds and I am really excited about that. I would love to chat, email, private messege with anyone that is any stage of being a bandster.:w00t:

BMI boderline BCBC of NC
Hi Cryst11 - I surprised myself and lost 4 pounds before my weigh in with Dr. Enochs and my BMI was an even 49. Just under the limit for BCBS. So I might all the other requirements (5 year weight history, over 18, no endocrine disorders etc). Angelica, the insurance person, at Dr. Enochs office said she need by bloodwork, pyhsc and nutrion visits to be completed before she submits for insurance approval. She said it would take about 1-2 weeks to hear back and then 1-2 weeks from then to schedule surgery. My biggest dilemma is that me and some friends are going to the beach on July26 and I want to have one last party before being banded. I am praying hard for insurance approval and a surgery date after July 26.

Phychologists in Raleigh NC
Hey Mellisa I assume you got the handbook from Dr. Enoch's office. I was not thrilled with the choices at all. But, when I finally did get a call back from the office in Wake Forest, her name was Lisa from Innovative Theraphy and she has had the lap band herself. She gave me the number of the scheduler (why that number is not in the book to begin with was a mystery to me). I have a June 4th with her associate Wendy and her sister has had the lap band. Lisa told me over the phone that she would bump my appt up if i have all my other appts and the physc is the last one. But my last appt is the bloodwork at Rex on June 17. Let me know if you want the scheduler's number to the Wake Forest office. The other office was in the process of moving and I could not get seen until the end of June.

I have a heart murmur Does this matter?
My doctor noticed a heart murmur last yeart and not any years before. I had a sonogram a year ago and they never really said much. I just worried about all the appts I am having before the surgery. I have not told anybody at work what is going.

I have a heart murmur Does this matter?
Does everyone that has a heart murmur have to do a stress test?
