    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

DAY #7: Exercise: Tried some different exercises today. Wrists are aching from doing the burpees. Jumped rope, not pretty at all!😀😀. No junk food, but why is eveything so tempting? What makes me truly happy? Seeing a sunrise and sunset. Absolutely beautiful. Was starting to stress because weight has stayed the same. However, I haven't had a stall yet. So I'm going to hang in there.

    NSV's

I live on a steep hill. Presurgery I always had to stop 2-3 times to catch my breath when walking up the hill. Now I can walk up the hill without stopping. I feel like Rocky!!

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

DAY 5: Looked like an uncoordinated chicken, flapping around doing my jumping jacks!🐥. Doing okay with no junk food. 3 words that my friends would describe me: Funny, kind and optimistic.

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

Day 4: Held my plank for 10 seconds!🤗. No junk food, glad superbowl is over with!! # 4 self love, forgive yourself for: Trying ever diet known to man, failing that diet, hating myself for failing then trying another diet. Comparing myself to others who tried the diets and lost weight. I was really hard on myself . A lot of negative talk. No more. I wouldn't be where I am now. If I hadn't gone through those lessons .

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I love this GreenTealael! This is exactly how I felt looking at those muffins. Day 2 I did a burpee and I liked it! No junk food today. My favorite characteristic about myself is my stomach. I've always had a flat stomach even at 232 lbs. Now if the rest of me could catch up with the stomach! LOL

    ❤ FEBRUARY 2019 CHALLENGE ❤

I definitely want to do the "no junk food challenge" and the " spell your name" workout. Work and personal life are starting to stress me out. I need to get refocused.
  10. My goal is to be healthy and achieve a weight that I can maintain for life. When I was in my teens and twenties, I was considered overweight for my height. I was 120 lbs, my doctor wasn't concerned because I was very athletic. Ran track, weight lifting etc. I had a lot of muscle. Gone now!! As I get closer to goal, I'll discuss this with my MD.

    Weight regain, 5 years out

Thank you for your post. I read the different posts to keep me accountable. I've noticed I'm starting to slip a little bit. Your post helped me see things may be going well now, however I still have to stay on top of things.

What an inspiration you are. Thanks for sharing.
  13. My clinical team suggested I have 3 small meals and 3 snacks. I continue to struggle to get the protein in. I try to snack on high protein foods such as the chicken jerky or a protein bar. I can't tolerate any of the protein drinks anymore. Eventually I would like to get down to 1-2 snacks a day.

    One week post-op

I also see food as an addiction like alcohol. I'm 3 months post op and starting to struggle with cravings for certain foods. I was driving by a chicken fast food restaurant and the smell of it had me pulling in the drive through. I wasn't hungry, it was like a memory of something I used to do and without thinking did it. I talked myself out of it. It was just amazing that the urge was so strong.

    "You're too skinny!"

Yesterday at work in the break room, a coworker who I haven't seen in awhile said the same thing to me. Then she asked me if I had cancer! Really, how insensitive is that. If I did have cancer, why would you ask that in a room full of people? I was speechless for a minute, then I told her no I didn't have cancer, but thanks for her concern.
  16. Hi Brittmarr1, I've noticed that that the weight loss is slowing down also. I'm still losing but not as fast and as much as in the beginning. I'm not going to stress about it, because I'm in this for life. I don't want to repeat the same mistakes I've made in the past. I would compare myself to other people and wonder why I wasn't losing as much weight as them etc. I'm going to be kind to myself and my body. If it takes me longer to get to the end of the rainbow, so be it.

    Awkward at Work

It always amazes me how insensitive some people can be. I had a similar situation with coworkers which I posted about. Some of the questions at work have died down now. However I do see my coworkers watching what I eat! Even at my heaviest weight I participated in 5K walks and so forth. I've told my coworkers that the exercise and eating healthy is starting to come together now.

    Craving Pepsi

Pepsi is my weakness! I gave it up cold turkey! It will be one year in March since I had one. Just seeing the can makes me drool!!
  20. For a while at the beginning of my weight loss journey . I was weighing myself everyday , 2-3 times a day. I was out of control! I've since gotten myself together and weigh myself once a week. I don't want the scale to be the only indicator of my weight loss. I've always exercised, so I see a huge difference in my clothing sizes. My body shape has changed for the better with the combination of weight loss and exercise.
  21. Hi, I had the gastric sleeve. I have absolutely no regrets!!!. I agree with Dubbs, I should have done it sooner! I did my research about the procedure, to make sure I choose the right one. There were some tough times in the beginning , however the way I feel now. Everything was worth it!

    T-2 days till surgery!

Hi BrookeP21, I told my surgeon I was having second thoughts on the day of surgery! Luckily I came to my senses . This is a life changing event, so of course you're going to be nervous. To me the WLS was worth it. Everything I went through to get to this point was worth it. Good luck to you.

    Trust (potentially) Broken

Hello, I had a similar situation at the job with co-workers, which I posted about. I received some helpful responses. Only my immediate family knows about my WLS, as I feel this is a personal issue. Unfortunately there is always going to be someome who thinks you took the "easy" way out. I did what I had to do for myself . I'm sure you're doing what you need to do for yourself also.

    HAPPY !

I woke up this morning, so happy that I had the WLS. It may have taken me three years to make the decision to have the surgery. However, it's the best thing that I've done for myself in years. This time last year, I woke up disillusioned and resigned to the fact that I would always be overweight. I'm also happy that I found these boards. Just reading that there are people out there who have some of the same issues that I have, makes this journey easier. I can't stop smiling. I'm just happy this morning!

How did you learn about surgery

My sister had the surgery after a health scare. After talking with her and with her encouragement. I decided to have the sleeve after doing a lot of research on it. I try to be aware of everything I put in my mouth. Also I tell myself I never want to go backwards only forward.
