  1. I don't know about that... I'd think 15+ years of overweightness should equal the damage of pregnancy, no? I've got some major stretch marks, which are looking lovely-er and lovely-er everyday (read: wrinkly-er and wrinkly-er). Maybe the gym will help... maybe the skin will catch up... who knows. It was just a crazy thing to see.... I woke up this morning saying "I'm wearing squishy pants." LOL I really don't think I'm gonna be someone who's going to be running to the plastic surgery the second (or 30lbs before) I make my goal. I'll wait as long as I can, and hope it springs back into place. I'm thinking of buying some kind of 'scar treatment', to do an experiment. I want to put it on half of my big scar, and photo-document the results. I honestly am not worried about my scars at all. Like I said, my stomach is enough of a mess, a few more marks just add a little bit of interest! Also, I am in great pain today. Who would have thought that those freakin' lunges actually did something! All this time I saw people doing them, and thought "ha! what a waste of time!". But, I think they're what killed me. I didn't believe I'd actually worked my abs at all last night, but I believe it now. And obliques?! I guess I do have them, cause they're killing me! I'm on a 3-day program now, and I think tomorrow, (day 2) is arms and back. Ugggg... I really hope my arms don't feel tomorrow like my legs feel today. complain, complain!!!
  2. green... I think I talked to you somewhere before. I remember someone who worked for Bombardier... are you on obesityhelp or the canadianlapbanders yahoo group?
  3. Awww... cute! My only halloween treats were today, and I had a mini Mr Big, and half a packet of Glossette raisins. Pretty good, I think, for someone who easily coulda polished off a bag of each.
  4. Good job, everyone who made their goals, and who didn't. Who cares, right? As long as it's going down, it's all good. I'll let you know what my total is tomorrow.. but I don't think it's gonna be pretty, unless something miraculous happens in the last couple days. If it doesn't, I blame the gym!
  5. Congrats on your loss so far, green! Keep it up
  6. Ketchup chips? I knew I'd heard this story before! Mine's boring. But.... I've used the same one for 10 years, practically, because I didn't know what to call myself, and never bothered to think of anything better! I though... "hmm... argon is inert. Like me!" Nah... I'll say it was just a random thing I picked, and stuck with.
  7. green, what's a wife in law? :help: Ugg... Cloe, I'm sorry your daughter is giving you a hard time. I was gonna post, and say "Mom? Is that you!?! LET IT GO, it was 8 years ago!!!" LOL Because that sounds like me. And look how good I turned out! heh But really, yeah... my first 'real' boyfriend was 19 when I turned 16. He wasn't the bad one. My mom loooooved him, and thought he was such a dreamboat. Didn't last too long... I messed it up. Maybe because my mom liked him so much? I dunno. But the next 'real' one, I was 18, he was 22 or something. I ended up moving in with him (oh yeah, he moved in with me, cause he got kicked out of his apartment). He was a loser. Never finished school, didn't have a job, or a car, or any hopes or dreams. His one big accomplishment was that he'd gone to some auctioneering school (about a week long!), and uhhh... that got him no where. But man, could he talk fast! I was pretty freshly out of (high)school, and not sure what I wanted to do with my life. He, as you can gather, didn't want to do anything with his life. I got him to get a job, and it ended up being as a bartender (mistake #1). We both re-enrolled in school, him to get his grade 12, and me to upgrade my grade 12 classes and just get better marks. I wanted to be a pilot, then it turned into wanting to be a MRT (radiology tech). His exciting bartending career took over his life... he started not coming home at night after he was done work, and instead going out to continue the partying with the bar people. Anyways, apparently me bitching about him bringing his friends over to smoke pot at our house was enough, and one night he came home from work, grabbed a garbage bag, threw all his sh!t in it, and left. He never came back to school again... but I saw him around town, off and on. Last I heard, he was working at a grocery warehouse driving a forklift or something. (oh yeah, and drunkenly told my friend I was the best thing that ever happened to him! HA!) I finished my upgrading, the best student in the school, got some awards for academic achievement, and decided animation was my calling. Blah blah.. and here I am now. This is the guy I want to go home at Christmas, and thank for walking out on me. (and show him what he's now missin'!) My story's a little different, cause I was a little older and 'on my own' when I pulled that crap. But as I told you before, I was a Jerky kid (I believe I said 'bad ass'). I think talking to the boyfriend, providing he's able to have some kind of intelligent conversation, and tell him the hopes you have for your daughter, and ask him what he thinks of her thinking about not going to university. He'll probably agree with you that it'd be good for her, and hopefully get on her ass about going. Then when she's there, she'll meet some educated boys, and kick his ass to the curb! If not, let her move out (if she persists, pack her stuff and have it ready to go for her, if she likes threatening you with moving out so much). She'll break up with him eventually, and realize that she needs to do something with her life, and she will. I think living on her own and fending for herself (assuming he doesn't have a well paying job, so she's taken care of) will be hard enough, and she'll come whimpering back! Let's hope so! Anyways, good luck... and let us know how it goes, ok? Mandi
  8. Ok, then... but 6.5lbs is still awesome!
  9. Oh my goodness.... I WAS about to go to bed, (in much pain from being tortured at the gym with my new 'routine', and thinking of tonights fabulous episode of "Heroes"), went to the bathroom, then proceded to look at my stomach... then push it all in, and see what could be. THEN... I actually grabbed my stomach, pulled it up, and it all came! Very easily!!! OY! Could this be my first sign that I will indeed have some mega hanging skin!? I could always grab my stomach and move it around, but THIS... this was like pulling up a squishy pair of pants!!! Ugg... off to bed to dream of lower body lifts, I guess. (p.s I hope you don't mind my stupid blurbs here and there.... but this is my thread afterall, and if I can't say stupid things here, where can I? I suppose its kind of like a journal/blog... I like to be able to look back and see when things happened)
  10. Welcome Khrissy! And yes, good luck to the November Bandsters!
  11. It's not over yet, guys! I'll weigh in on Wed, and that'll be the end of the month for me.
  12. Wow, Wheezy... I don't have any good ideas, or even know what I'd do in your shoes, so I'll sit back with my popcorn and watch this unfold. Good luck with that maniac!
  13. That IS weird! You, my dear, are an anomaly! (yes, I got to use that word, finally!)
  14. ewww... I'm glad I never had a real fresh oyster then!
  15. interesting... I don't know where Digby is, but if I'm ever there, I'll make sure to try their scallops! Hey Wheezy... do you think you'd be able to do raw oysters anymore?
  16. Yes... I imagine all hell would have broken loose if I'd been allowed cheese AND sweatpants! Not that we weren't allowed cheese, we just never had/bought blocks of it. ?
  17. Ooooh nooooo! Don't do that! I can't be held responsible if it's horrible!! OK?! Haha, no, no royalties, unfortunetly! Some of my friends from Saskatoon are working (or were, I think that show's done now) on Delilah and Julius (in Halifax)! My avatar, actually my boyfriend did that for me. I don't think I'm a great draw-er, and definitely not compared to him! Thanks for the good vibes! I'll keep ya all updated! Now I have to go... Dan's making me make a birthday and christmas list. Ugg... I'm so bad at that. I really don't want anything. All I have on my list is comfy socks, and perfume. Can you guys think of any thing? Even list things YOU want, and maybe that will give me some ideas of things I might want!
  18. Dawn, what happens to you if you eat too fast, don't chew well enough, or something gets 'stuck'? Or has that just not ever happened? I'm sure we'd all say that we don't eat too fast, chew stuff to death and it still happens sometimes.
  19. What's a Supertramp?! LOL, just kidding, I know who you're talking about! He was a guest on Canadian Idol also, wasn't he? Glad you had a good time
  20. Cloe! You're so ambitious!! Well.. my Xmas goal was to be in ONEderland by then. I really should stick with that. My next milestone would be 100lbs, and that would be 23-ish pounds from now, and that's way too much for me to try to make by Christmas! I'm no Cloe! For now, I'm saying 199 is my Christmas Wish!
  21. Oh my... are you sure they're still alive?!
  22. I've never had oysters, as in the ones you have to swallow whole... and I guess I never will, now! (no swallowing anything that big whole!) I've always liked smoked oysters, the ones you buy in the cans. My mom and my treat, all the time, was crackers, a squeeze of squeeze cheeze, a little slice of ham, a yum yum pickle slice, and an oyster on top! Mmmmmm... so good. But, I did have mussels this summer in PEI. They were ok... cheap at least!
  23. Hey Nancy, congrats on your date! Dr. Cobourn, right? I'm sure there are some other Nov/Dec newbies around here in the Canadian area. Maybe lurkers? There's plenty of other people who are fairly new anyways (banded in the last couple months), and more will come along too... so no worries.
  24. Oh dear... what were you going to say when you saw I was only 25?! :omg: haha, really... I make it sound alot more glamourous than it is. I never get to MEET any of the cool people!
  25. Hmm... the show that I worked on last, you could watch, if you APTN (the Aboriginal People's Television Network), is what it airs on. It's called "Wapos Bay". It's on Monday morning (I just discovered it was actually on, so now I'm setting my DVR to record it so I can see my name in the credits!) It's about a little native community in waaaay northern Saskatchewan. There's some cool people doing the voices for some of the characters... Gordon Tootoosis, and Lorne Cardinal (the cop from Corner Gas). What I did... pretty much was listen to the audio, and plan out the mouth shapes that the animators would be using, and the timing they'd need, to make the lip syncs work. If they look like they're actually saying what they should be, that's alllll me! If not... blame the animators for not following my 'dope sheets'! LOL Ummm... another thing... if you ever see this movie [ame=http://www.amazon.ca/A-Fairy-Tale-Christmas/dp/B000HRMCZW/sr=8-3/qid=1162056809/ref=sr_1_3/701-4041457-0577120?ie=UTF8&s=dvd]A Fairy Tale Christmas[/ame]... stay away! Nah... it's not terrible, but not great. It's available on Oct 31, so I know what everyone I know is getting for Xmas! LOL Just to see my name in the credits, again. I don't care if they watch it Hmm... I also did some animation for a show called Stroker and Hoop, which is on the Cartoon Network. Specifically the episode called "The Wrath of Khan'ja". The one I'm working on right now... is still in the really really early stages. I don't think it's known which network is going to buy it. But we're starting a new show, that's apparently going to be A&E's first animated series. Oh yeah, and something, I'm not sure what, for "Just for Laughs". I think I'm going to the optometrist on Wed. So hopefully not too long before I can wear my snazzy new glasses. (and not just like a dork, around the house, with plastic lenses that say "Galleria" across them!) Still no word from the potential side-job. Eeeee..... cross your fingers for me, guys!!
