  1. Happy Birthday, Spydr! I definitely appreciate you posting your pictures, thanks!
  2. (she's shared them already...see the 'You asked for it..." thread!! )
  3. I just found this post because I was wondering whatever became of you! You know where the Canadian area of this board is, cause that's where I saw you before... come back and ask this question there... there's lots who've been banded by Dr. Mumford!!
  4. 100lbs in 10 months.. I think that's pretty serious too.
  5. Happy St. Patrick's Day too!
  6. Pro: I've lost a bunch of weight. Con: I can't pig out like I used to. From what I've seen, the only people from Alberta on here are self-payers that went out of province. The only Alberta Dr's you're going to hear of are the ones you'll have to wait years to see/get banded by. So with that said, unless you're going to wait, or unless for some reason you'll only listen to Southern Albertans (I lived there for 5 years!) my Dr. (and CLOE's) was great, and I'm sure we'd both recommend. But everyone here, it seems is very happy with their surgeon, so you're gonna have to research and find who YOU feel the most comfortable with. But then again... if you can exercise and diet, why not try a Dr. supervised diet if you need someone to be accountable to? You can't do that because you have no time, or what do you mean 'because of your job'? You can't just get it done and expect that it'll do all the work for you... cause you DO have to work at it. Good luck.
  7. agreed.... especially if the vacation is soon. You don't want it to be miserable! Yeah, where ya goin?
  8. Congrats, Janice!
  9. I agree Bandiva... there's no loss too small! Good job!
  10. Congrats Wheezy, I hope this one does it for ya!!
  11. I have searched the CCRA website and can't find what I"m looking for. I definitely do not want to tell this gal... she IS nice, but has a big mouth, and wouldn't personally benefit from me educating her about it! I'll look a little harder on the website and see if I can find something. Thanks guys. My mom left a voice message for me telling me that my grandma (dad's mom) died this morning. It wasn't really unexpected, she hasn't been 'well' in a long time... been in a nursing home for maybe 11 years, with very bad Alzheimer's and I'm sure not in a good state. We hoped that this would come to 'put her at peace', so I guess it is good... much better for her. I hadn't seen her in a really long time, but my dad did go visit more often. Anyways, yeah, kinda sad... but relieved that she's not suffering anymore.
  12. I think a T1 is your complete income tax 'package'... and it IS complete and done (can't change it), where I have $15,000, beside it it says 'lapband surgery' as well as the costs of some fill trips!
  13. Just remembered something that's causing me some trouble, and maybe someone can suggest something: I emailed a lady/friend/boss at work, who's the accounting whiz there. I told her about some issues I'm having with my completed income tax stuff. Nothing major.. they just gave me my "Notice of Assesment" and changed my return FOR me, using my education amounts, when I hadn't included my education amounts, because I had other good deductions, and without them I would get the same refund. I figured I'd save 'em for next year. So I asked about it, and if they can do that, and why CAN'T I carry it forward. She replied and asked if she could have a look at my T1. This is bad, because does not know about my surgery, and is one of the people who've bugged me about 'what i'm doing". I don't want her to know. But I don't know how to say I don't want her to see my income tax stuff. I couldn't make the excuse and say I don't want her to know how much I make or something, cause... she's the one who pays me, she knows that stuff! What kind of medical expense (or any kind) could someone have that they actually had to pay for, that they wouldn't want to tell people??! She easily forgets about stuff, and it probably would just pass if I didn't mention it, and maybe eventually told her I found out myself. (although I really would like her help, cause the last thing I want to do is call Revenue Canada!) But it might not, and I need some help figuring out what to say! What do you think!?
  14. Thank you gals I'm posting here, not because I want anyone necessarily feel like they need to keep up with me... just because it's like my little diary. I have saved copies of this thread (cause you can, i discovered in the 'thread tools' at the top) just in case I some how lose it!! I forgot to mention that I saw 300 on friday night. It was NUTS, but awesomely cool! Saturday we did a little shopping in Moncton. Went to the mall, passed a GAP, and I said, "I gotta do it." I went in, grabbed some size 14's AND some 12's and hit the dressing room. The 14's looked really good, and the 12's DEFinitely didn't fit! YET! I woulda taken a picture with the camera on my cellphone if it hadn't been dead! Too bad those things are so expensive! I bought a pair at Old Navy instead.
  15. (and I see you bumped that ticker over another notch )
  16. ugg... didn't Bell buy Aliant? I think I'm technically with them too then. Luckily I didn't have to sign a contract. My only other choice was Rogers, and they are fine when you're in or around a 'metro' area, but going out of town with it was always a pain.
  17. Whoah... I shoulda checked back earlier. You said it perfectly, Yoda.
  18. Yeah, you definitely don't seem like you're eating too much! Isn't it weird how just randomly you can eat a waaay bigger portion of something than you were expecting?! I'm sure the drinking isn't helping... but then again, what are you mixing with? If you still wanna drink, what about trying a lesser calorie mix? I know a gal who drinks vodka with crystal light... never tried it, but it's got potential?! How about exercise? Gettin' any? I hate to say it, but if not.. maybe give that a try! (trust me, I'm not a fan either) Have you talked to Dr. Cobourn about what he thinks you should do? Maybe a tinnnnny fill? Uggg... that really sucks for you. Doddie: This isn't to exclude anyone. She made this thread for the few of us who were here long before any of you newer people, and have kind of lost touch, because with so many new threads every day, it's hard to keep track of each other. It obviously hasn't STOPPED you from posting in this thread, and no one told you not to. The moderators wouldn't think anything about it, cause there's nothing wrong with it. Yeah, we could send emails, but then not everyone would be in the loop. Is it any different than a "March 07 Bandsters" or a "Christians Unite" thread? I don't think so.
  19. Wheezy: tell us what you eat in a day... detailed! Sizes and everything. Just a typical day for you.
  20. Are you kidding?
  21. Sunseeker, can you tell me which surgeon told you that?
  22. Well... let's communicate then. Whataya wanna know?!
  23. interesting.... is the Optimum Nutrition "good", Andrew? Everyone's so different though... I might like that sweet one and find the O.N. one too bland. You really just need to try a whole bunch. It's too bad you can't get samples of EVERYthing.
  24. Andrew said it best. Sorry if that's a disappointment. Your options are to pay in BC, Ontario, (Montreal, I think you can pay too). That's just Canada... I assume you want to stay AS close as possible to home. And there's always Mexico. Unless you want to wait and do it in Alberta.
  25. Welcome Newfie! Just so you know, there is a Canadian area to LBT, so come and say hi!
