Surgery in 12 days...Do I buy things beforehand?
Hmmm. I usually just drink water from the sink. Do I really need to go out and buy bottled water?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Lock down the guys/gals rooms by gender!!
Not trying to "win" anything. Just pointing out that this is a wls forum where we should be discussing wls not bashing a group of people. I came here to read about wls not transphobic bs. This type of content should be removed. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I feel like this thread should be shut down because it has basically become a place where transphobic people feel the need to spread their hate. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Surgery in 12 days...Do I buy things beforehand?
Hi all, My surgery is is 12 days and I have been slowly getting myself ready for post-op life. I have bought a food processor, water bottles, and a heating pad. As the day gets closer I'd like to buy some protein, soups, etc. Anything else you guys suggest? I will not not be cleared to drive until 8 days after my surgery and will only have someone with me for 4 of those days, so I feel like I need stock up on things now. Thank you!

I'm glad to hear your surgery went well and you're healing smoothly!

All I want to eat is cheese!
Based off what you're craving it sounds like your body is telling you you need more protein!

Compression clothing?
This exactly the video I thought about when I saw this question! I love obesetobeast. Really inspiring story.

No pre op fast?
I'm sitting here dying laughing about the "I feel like my heart is gonna fall straight out through my butt" comment! But seriously, I feel the same exact way! It's all going to be okay for both of us though! My surgeon also does not do a preop liver shrinking diet. I think it's all up to the surgeon's discretion. I wish you a smooth and speedy recovery with your surgery!

Afraid that I'm going to let fear of pain prevent me from going through with surgery
I believe that hearing peoples horror stories helps me. It helps me know what's the worst to expect. Obviously, I like hearing all the good stories also. I like to know what to expect even if that may be a broad range

Post op pain - be honest
A lot of people mention being in the most pain when they initially wake up. Is that from the gas? I'm nervous about waking up in pain and going into a panic.

Afraid that I'm going to let fear of pain prevent me from going through with surgery
Have not experienced childbirth but I do have tattoos and even had my nipples pierced when I was younger so I do know how to tolerate that sort of "pain" but I'm assuming that the pain that comes with this surgery is totally different?

Afraid that I'm going to let fear of pain prevent me from going through with surgery
I always appreciate all the responses! Reading them tends to calm my nerves. In really hoping I have a minimally painful surgery like some of you have mentioned.

Exactly what the title says... I've researched this surgery up and down. I know it is the right choice for me. I am not concerned about the strict diet afterwards (I have lost over 100 pounds in the past through diet and exercise). I'm just having this really irrational fear of the recovery pain. I just want to know what to expect but of course everyone has a different experience. Especially with a lot of people posting "I have really high pain tolerance but..." lol. I don't even know what kind of pain tolerance I have. Sorry for this whiney fear-induced post.
