Alcohol Is The Enemy-HELP!
Alcohol at only two month post op?!? Alcohol isn't the enemy, you're being your own worst enemy. You know what you need to do to fix the problem. Stop drinking alcohol. Alcohol should not be consumed for at least 6 months post op. You're putting yourself at risk for a whole bunch of problems drinking so early on.

Below 40 BMI on day of surgery - does this affect insurance coverage?
It depends on the insurance. Most insurances only go by your bmi from your initial appointment. My surgeon had advised me not to lose any weight until I was approved for surgery to avoid complications.

Protein Shake 911=Premier
I'm a huge fan of the unflavored unjury powder.

Protein Shake 911=Premier
I agree with @OIRachel, 26-29 grams per drink is still a decent amount. Just make sure some of your protein is coming from other sources besides premier.

Happy Hallosleeve Everyone!!! Proud of self.
Also my first Halloween having zero candy. It sucked a lot less than I thought it would. I'm not really craving candy or sweet things. I'm missing savory thing like pizza and hamburgers more.

Will Biotin make my facial hair grow more?
I'm afraid that my hair is thinning (probably all in my mind) and want to take biotin to try to counteract that. However, I'm afraid that taking biotin will cause my facial hair and other unwanted body hair to grow more also. Had anyone experienced this or have knowledge about it? Thank you in advance!

App is down
Just a heads up that my app (android) is currently not working. On all boards, it displays the message "No results".

October 2018 Sleevers
Officially down 20 pound since surgery (10/2)!! I've been feeling good. Still dealing with water intake and exhaustion. Also learning how to overcome some mental obstacles such as putting myself in food oriented situations but not eating. I technically get cleared for all food tomorrow but still not fully comfortable with the pureed stage, so I don't see myself moving along quite yet. I hope all my fellow early October sleevers are doing well!

Forbes: Why high protein diets may be linked to Cancer
Correlation does not equal causation. The most basic of statistics courses teach you that. For people who were between the ages 50-65, high protein diets positively correlated with increased risk of cancer. This doesn't mean that high protein diets are causing cancer. There are so many other factors to take into consideration.

Social outings suck now
Thank you for the suggestions! I wound up bringing pumpkin spice yogurt to the Halloween party I went to last night. Everyone else loved it, I hated it! Lol

Social outings suck now
Same! I don't want to miss out on the fun. I've been just sticking to water but its mentally draining to sip on eater while all my friends drink and eat.

Social outings suck now
I'm only about 3 weeks out so its not wanting to overeat, it's not being able to eat at all while out. I'm technically on soft food stage but still can barely tolerate that. I wouldn't risk ordering something while out.

Social outings suck now
Thank you guys for all the responses. Unfortunately, my situation isnt as easy as just finding something that doesn't involve food and drinking. As mentioned, I'm a bar person and so are my friends. We have a big group, all in our twenties, if there are no drinks my friends are probably not going there lol I could always hang out with my very close friends and do something non-food/drink related but it isnt the same as being out on the town.

Movies
I saw the new Halloween movie last weekend. I enjoyed it. I was only about 2 weeks post op though so I did not have anything to eat or drink there besides water.

Social outings suck now
Sleeved 10/2. Have always been an extrovert who loves going out with friends, going to parties, bars, clubs, etc. but ever since I've been sleeved all these experiences have sucked. Not being able to eat or drink while everyone around me is is not fun at all. How did you guys cope with this?

20 Something’s?

Is one week off work enough?
I took 2 weeks off which was more than enough. After about a week and a half, I was good to go. I even took a 2 hour trip down to see my family during that second week where they were eating McDonalds in front of my face. It was sucky but manageable. Personally I didnt have much of an appetite anyways until about 3 weeks out (now).

SMH
THIS!!!!^^^^^ I agree 100%! I'm tired of seeing people post "use the search bar!". I have tried to use it multiple times and it sucks. It always shows me irrelevant posts, posts from years ago, and is just a mess. I'm not sure if it's only app thing because that is the only place I've used it but from my experience on the app, the search bar is totally useless. I'd be better off manually scrolling through each post to try to find what I want. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Has premier protein changed their recipe?
Yeah, they get gross pretty fast. The smell is what gets to me. Let it sit out for more than a half hour and smell it absolutely disgusting. Like sour milk.

Has premier protein changed their recipe?
That's what I'm hoping! Besides from unjury (which is o expensive), I find premier to be the second best tasting!

Has premier protein changed their recipe?
Yeah, I dont think mine changed consistency. It just tastes different.
