  1. Yeah, I forget about the whole major surgery part because it feels like a distant memory in my mind already. It's weird to think that my body could still be feeling the effects from the surgery itself. On a "good day", I can make it up to 700 calories but I probably stay closer to 550 on most days. Food no longer has any appeal to me. I'm pushing to stay on track with protein though. I normally get summertime depression so this whole having depression in the winter is a major bummer. I feel like I had maybe 3 good mental health weeks in September and that was it. Thank you for your thoughts!
  2. Tomorrow (Dec. 2nd) I will be two months post op and I'm still dealing with exhaustion. I get about 9 hours of sleep every night but still struggle to stay alert during the day. I just feel like I have no energy. Any advice, words of encouragement, stories that will give me hope? Also dealing with some post op depression which I'm sure isnt helping
  3. Awesome job! You look a lot younger also!
  4. Only 2 months out but have not had any regret. I did tons of research beforehand though so I knew what I was getting myself into. I think it's unlikely you'll find people on these forums that regret the surgery (some have initial regret but get over it), I don't believe they stick around the forums long.
  5. I've been using the couch25k app but get winded if I'm jogging for an extended period of time. I can walk 3 miles no problem, it's the jogging and running that gets me. I wondering if I'll be able to jog a 5k by spring. Although this is all on a treadmill and I know that running on pavement is more difficult.
  6. I always thought it stood for original poster but I dont think that is the way that proud Grammy is using it
  7. I know how you feel! At my highest I was 250 (back in 2013), I worked my ass off and got down to 140 in 2015, yo-yoed up and down but by Aug 2018 I was back up to 238. I got surgery in October and now I'm down to 197. Losing weight is the easy part, maintaining is the struggle. I have hope for myself and for you too that with the help of our surgeries, we will be able to keep it off this time. It's all a learning process. And although sometimes I'm disappointed with myself about regaining after I had initially lost, I truly believe that I needed to experience it all in order to become the person I have. Sappy but true, the first time I lost weight I lost it because I hated myself and wanted to be different, this time I'm losing it because i love myself and want to be better.
  8. Do you mind if I ask how far out you are from surgery? I'm hoping to do my first 5k in the spring but I'm wondering if thats too lofty of a goal.
  9. Awesome job!
  10. I was able to swap out some protein shakes for the quest protein bars. The quest bars have protein and most have lots of fiber also.
  11. I've been mixing the unflavored protein with the fairlife milk and a little bit of sugar free chocolate syrup. Not as thick as the premade shakes they sell

Been following your story from afar. Very interesting turn of events. I hope you are both okay!
  13. I obviously can't speak for everyone but I'm pretty much thirsty all the time now. I used to drink 100 oz easily before surgery, now I struggle to get my required 64 oz. My mouth/head craves ice cold water but my stomach says nope. It always cramps when I drink cold water. The lukewarm water and hot beverages go down easier but my mouth is not satisfied with that. Who wants to drink lukewarm water after a work out? I'm almost 2 months out and am still experiencing this.
  14. I have it on my android. Its definitely in the Google play store. Try just searching "bariatric app".
  15. A friend of mine recommended it for getting rid of unwanted facial hair and counteracting the negative effects of PCOS. I was wondering if anyone here takes it after surgery? I'm afraid that it might interact with the other vitamins I am taking or that it may speed up hair loss (head hair). Just curious if anyone has had any experience with it. Thanks in advance!
  16. Thanksgiving went well for me. I ate two bites of turkey, two bites of mashed potatoes, two bites of stuffing and then I was done. Later on I had a bite of pie for dessert. This is the least I have eaten on Thanksgiving. I didnt feel bad though. I'm starting to get the hang of it. At this point I feel like I may be far enough out that I don't feel like I'm missing out on food anymore.
  17. Hi! I posted this is the gal's room but didn't get many responses so I'm hoping it gets more attention here! So, I'm afraid that my hair is thinning (probably all in my mind) and want to take Biotin to try to counteract that. However, I'm afraid that taking biotin will cause my facial hair and other unwanted body hair to grow more also. Had anyone experienced this or have knowledge about it? Thank you in advance!
  18. Yes, I figured it out now with your help! Thank you!
  19. My plan is to visit my family for a few days (Wed-Sat) and I'm getting pretty anxious over the food situation!
  20. These look good! I'll have to look around to see if I can find any place that sells them near me.
  21. Hi! I would like to leave a review on this website for my surgeon. However, when I go to his page I do not see any option to leave a review? Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thank you!
  22. Thank you guys for all the ideas!
