  3. Caffeine is prohibited. However, the nutriionist told me that if I did drink caffeine then I would need to replace it with double the water. For example: if I have a 4 oz coffee for breakfast then I need to drink 8 oz water to replace it. caffeine is a diuretic and it makes you urinate, therofre, I think they just want to keep u hydarted. As for the sodas? I am on my 5 th week post-op and I haven't had any so I can't answer that question. Hope this helps

    hi i'm new

Hey, I was in about a week depression after surgery. I think it was because I was ending a love affir with a lifelong lover. You see FOOD has always been there for me: when I was sad, mad, happy, etc. Now, after the surgery you can't eat like you did before. And when I have these feelings I can't turn to my old bud(food) for comfort. I have heard that alot of people go through this. Something like post-partum depression. I'm glad mine only lasted a week. It will gat better. Just keep watching the scale and you will start feeling better Tracey P.
  5. Yeah I agree, the diets all vary. My doc has me on a 600 cals daily, 64gm protein daily, 15 carbs a meal, and 64oz water daily. I think that is pretty strict, however I am following it and it is working. I am averaging three pounds a week and have not even been filled yet!

    Hi..I'm Bobbie

Hello Bobbie, I know the hospital I went to for surgery had insurance people who worked with you on getting your insurance approved. In fact, I didn't have to deal with them at all. My financial rep that was assigned to me handled it all. Then she e-mailed me one day and said, "youre approved, now make an appointment with the surgeon." It was easy as that. They did require a psych eval but that only took a few hours at one appointment. We are not required to see take nutriional classe. They have a nutritionist on staff at the surgeons office and you stop in to see her at your scheduled follow-up visits. An exercise pysiologist as well is on staff to help you with activities that will assist with the band(tool) I had the band a month ago today and have lost 20 lbs. It is an awesome tool and I see it changing my life! don't give up, keep getting documantaion from your PCP about your health problems and submit to the insurnace co. I will keep u in my prayers.
