  1. Chinese food! That’s what I’ve been wanting. Makes me sad
  2. Also I’m 6 weeks post op. I tried everything for nausea, I just couldn’t do it anymore. I wasn’t getting enough anything.
  3. 33andathird I’ve had the same issue, since about three weeks I get nauseous every time I eat or drink. I’ve followed my post op eating plan as best I can. I’ve actually been behind because of it. I was given medicine for nausea and now that’s how I eat. It’s only been for 2 days but it’s so nice being able to eat/drink without the extreme nausea.
  4. JayBSoFla thank you! That makes me feel so much better. I was starting to think that this is the new normal.
  5. I’m 5 weeks post op, I get so nauseous every time I eat or drink anything, does it ever go away?
  6. Anyone far enough along that they are able to eat tomatoes? How long after surgery before you were able to eat them?
  7. Mercmerc it takes me 2 days to finish one whole premier shake.
  8. So I’m almost 4 weeks post op. I’ve been feeling real nauseous for the past week. As a result I can barely eat/drink, even water is making me nauseous. I got some medicine from the doctor to help with the nausea. Someone told me about Life WTR , it has electrolytes in it. Has anyone tried it or had a similar issue?
  9. Skylw6 I’m 3 weeks post op, I’ve been having the same issue. Everything makes me nauseous, especially those protein shakes. I take one sip and feel like I’m going to puke. I’m also supposed to be on puréed but I’ve been having a rough time with it. I take 3 small bites and I can’t eat anymore. I was told I could have scrambled eggs so I thought I’d try that to get some protein but I haven’t even been able to eat half an egg. Glad I’m not the only one, I thought something was wrong because no one else talks about having this issue at 3 weeks.
  10. I’m 3 weeks post op today, the last 2 days I have been extremely nauseous. Anyone else experience this? I don’t know what’s going on and why all of a sudden.
  11. Jill, I had my sleeve on 7/24 I had tightness from day 4-10, it felt like a ball that was blown up to much. I was so happy when it finally went away.
  12. Wow, steak sounds amazing right now. Maybe that’s just because I have had anything but liquids in 3 weeks
  13. Wow! I have three weeks of the purée stage.
  14. J San what was in the tortilla soup? That sounds so good.
  15. So what’s the word on bananas? I don’t see it anywhere on my food lists, but was wondering if a mashed banana would be ok on puréed
  16. It’s great, can’t wait to lose more. I just don’t feel like I look like I’ve lost that much.
  17. You all look so good, it gives me hope for the future. My highest weight was 320. The day I had surgery I was 294. 2 weeks post op and 270.

    Migrating Pain Post Op

Tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post op, up until a few days ago my stomach was hurting quite a bit, that finally went away. Now my lower back on the right side is the only thing hurting.
  19. That’s horrible. I’m hoping I will be able to tolerate eggs, even if it’s only three bites.
  20. I’m on full liquids currently, can’t wait to get to puréed! I’m so excited to have some eggs. Full liquid is so boring...
  21. @GeminiSky my first few days were about the same. I remember thinking how dumb I was for having the surgery because I could be eating steak and potatoes with the family instead of licking an ice pop. That passed though and honestly I don’t really want food. I’m on full liquids and it hurts so bad to swallow anything, I’m ready to go back to clear liquids. I think I’m just still really swollen and sore so I don’t know when it won’t hurt to eat again. I hope it’s soon though. I’ve had people tell me it can take 3 weeks for it to feel better. I feel really fortunate with my incisions because those are healing nicely and not sore anymore, really it’s just all inside now. I had a good day yesterday and thought all was well, then today I could hardly sit up with out my stomach hurting. Sometimes I feel like there’s an air bubble moving around in there and it’ll get close to my chest, that’s when it’s the worst. I hope you don’t have to deal with that. Also I am new to this site, I signed up a few days after my surgery, so I don’t really know how to use it or tag you. Hope you see this.
  22. GeminiSky you had me dying laughing when you said barrel rolling because that’s exactly what I had to do for the first week. I am 8 days post op and laying in bed for the first time pain free. The last couple days my insides have been more sore then my healing incisions. Plus I like sleeping in my side and it’s finally comfortable to do so again! I still have gas pains though, they’re very random and will wake me up sometimes. It’s getting better though! How many days post op are you?
  23. @ttj3mom It is completely normal!!! Everything you said is exactly how I felt pre op. I lost 15lbs on the pre op diet and told myself the same thing about not doing surgery, but deep down I knew that without the surgery I wouldn’t keep at it. It’s nerve wrecking and you have to do what’s best for you, but if the end result is what you want then stick them your guns!
  24. As far as eating goes, that is the easy part (I know it doesn’t seem possible). You really won’t want much and you’ll literally have to force yourself to drink what you need to. I just started stage two today and got to have thinned grits and oatmeal, I literally took 5 bites and was full. Plus through out the day had to get all that water and protein. I was completely satisfied the entire day. What helped for me during the clear liquids stage was popsicles, they have a sugar free tropical kind and anytime I wanted something I went for those. I couldn’t do broth at all, in anyway, I didn’t like it. Jello was ok, not what I would get excited about but those tropical popsicles saved me. You just have to find your thing. Relax, take a deep breath and just think about where you’ll be in a year or even 6 months. Everything will work itself out, and you’ll be fine in surgery. I was shaking the day of surgery because I was so nervous but I just kept reminding myself why I’m doing and how much better my life will be. Stay strong!!!
