  1. I hate to latch on to Bob's post. Please forgive me Bob. Did anyone have to use the prescription pain medicine or did they just take Tylenol? I really don't do well with prescription pain medicine it makes me very sick so I would like to avoid it if I could.
  2. Oh that's a great idea. I may have to get a pill crusher too.
  3. I’m doing self-pay ESG so I knew it was going to be expensive. I had to change my mind set to talk myself into the surgery. At first I thought there is no freaking way I’m spending that much money. Then I thought but I pay more for my car and in the long run this is for my health so why wouldn’t I make an investment in me. Now I just go through mini heart attacks when everything gets expensive for this surgery. ?
  4. No you should brag. If my medicines were $40 I would brag and choregraph a victory dance. My doctor warned me it would be expensive so I was prepared. My biggest fear now is when I take the Emend it will slip out of my hand and fall into the AC vent. That would be just my luck.
  5. Yes the horribly expensive Emend. I found a GoodRX coupon which bring the price down to $120 for 2 pills.
  6. WooHoo tomorrow is the start of your journey. I'm so happy for you.
  7. I'm the opposite. Family emigrated from SK to the states. I'm trying convince my family to go back but they're stubborn Canadians
  8. Congratulations!!! Just one more day to a new you. Try to take care of yourself today and don't stress too much. You are about to embark on a beautiful journey. I'm so excited for you.
  9. Yes, I’m getting VSG too. What is your date? My surgery is on the 24th. I just got my prescriptions and one of them is $200 a pill!!!! Thank the Lord for GoodRX
  10. Sending you well wishes and healing vibes friends. You are a true warrior.
  11. I’m so glad you are doing well KRush. It’s encouraging that you’re not in too much pain. I’m 2 weeks out and my biggest concern now is not having coffee. Yikes!
  12. Congratulations GamePlan. I have one day of liquid diet too. Are you getting ESG too?
  13. Good luck to you too. Hopefully today will be the last day of misery for you and each new day it gets a bit easier on you.
  14. Good Luck! Fingers crossed for you.
  15. Lord I hope this is the case with my surgeon because I can't survive without coffee. My family will ban me from functions. My priest will kick me out of Mass. There is just no way I can be a tolerable human without coffee.
  16. Same to you 2shea. October is right around the corner. It's just a handful of weeks for a brand new life for us all.
  17. I'm the one having it done in Cary, NC. My doctor's name is Dr. McGowan. They have a website newyou.com. If you have any other questions. Please let me know.
  18. Hello Yara. I am having my ESG on Aug 24th. Although I don't have a shared experience with you I just want to let you know that everything I have read says the 3-4 week stall is real and can be a real mind bender. Please don't beat yourself up for a few minor slip ups. We're all human and your journey has just begun. A stall is called a stall because it's temporary. You got this.
  19. I just bought some Premier Protein Shakes at Sam's that were really affordable. It's a Walmart company so they probably have it there too. I also found clear fruit flavored protein drinks there. I've heard they are not the greatest but I got some for post surgery so I could get in my protein.
  20. Thank you and congratulations to you. I'm starting to get super excited like it's my birthday. I survived the disgusting barium so I have a day of clear liquids the day before my surgery and I'm good to go.....Ok gotta admit I just made myself nervous again typing all of that out
  21. I'm so very sorry that you are going through all of this. I will pray for you to heal and the journey to get easier. I have no practical advice because I have not had my surgery yet. I just wanted to let you know that someone is listening and rooting for you.
  22. Congratulations Carlo. I have not heard of your surgeon but I know you'll do great. My surgery is Aug 24th and I'm pretty nervous too. Keep me updated.
