Ok Where are my twins at??? Tomorrow is the big day... I feel a puddle of nerves but on the plus side I ended up losing 5 lbs total last week! Woo hoo! We got this good luck everyone!!

Anyone else stall out on loosing weight on the liquid diet? I am on day 9 today and haven't lost much of anything for the last 3 days. I lost 11 lbs really fast when I started liquids, but then haven't really lost anything for a few days. Just wondering if that is normal.
Either way I am excited I made it this far, liquid diet was the scariest part for me, and I am down to my last 2 days with surgery scheduled for Monday 11/5. Getting so close!

Hi!

I've been lurking on the forums for quite some time now. I thought I would introduce myself. I am a 39 year old male, and will be having my first appointment with my surgeon next week. I've jumped all the hoops, had the classes, psych evals, etc. Sadly my insurance specifically excludes WLS, so I am paying out of pocket. I've decided that it will be worth it though!
After my appointment with my surgeon next week, I'll start a two week liquid diet, and then have surgery. Being a nurse, I've been in the OR, I've seen how violent surgery can be up close, even when using davinci machines for laproscopic surgery. I'm having a hard time not freaking out about all the potential issues that could crop up. I've read just about every research paper I could find on gastric sleeve, so I know the risks are fairly low, but man, it's so hard being on the other side!
Any other healthcare folks out there find that knowing as much as we do makes this process more difficult? I mean, I have taken care of patients my surgeon has operated on. So I fully know what to expect post op, I think I'm just excited, and scared all rolled into one.

About 20 lbs.

I'm 8 days including 2 day pre op 6 days post op 13lbs so far

Hello, I am new to this even though I’ve been reading topics since I decided I wanted to have this surgery lol Im having my sleeve done on 11/20 and thought this was the perfect time to join. I’m excited yet extremely scared about having this surgery. However I’m excited to share my experience with others that are going through the same thing! 😊

Well I dont have to do a 2 week preop diet.. but I am most likely going to do a week.

I have all the same desires. Desperately waiting for a surgery date. The insurance company is taking all 15 days they are allotted to come to a decision. Omg. The waiting is a pain. I’m hoping to get one of the last few spots they have in December. So fingers crossed. Good luck to you.

I am still pre OP but thinking of ways to get Protein in on early phases. Premier Protein popsicles. 3 of these is just about one 11oz drink.yummy chocolate

Hi everyone, scheduled for the 30th Nov provided my consultation goes to plan on the 19th. Having it done in the UK living in Ireland. Going through cycles of nervous/excited/apprehensive about the procedure. Mostly worried about the complications and ability to stick to the diet afterwards. Im a doctor myself and I'm also worried about going back to work afterwards as i've a demanding job and i'm on my feet 24/7 How are people preparing for life at work after surgery? Any tips you've uncovered re tubberware, lunch boxes etc... Im not planning on telling anyone about my procedure unless I have to as I don't like the idea of people judging me. That said im really looking forward to being able to smile at myself in the mirror again, not have to worry about seats being too narrow or clothes not fitting.
