  1. Wow johnathan , that sounds great ! I will try it because I am failing miserably in the purée stage . Chicken salad didn’t work. Crab salad tasted gross . Turkey Chili didn’t work . I am living off my protein drinks and plain yogurt right now . Am going to try a scrambled egg tomorrow . I can get down a wedge of laughing cow light cheese so that helps in a pinch
  2. I have told myself I no longer eat sweets, full stop . At least until I hit goal
  3. I am nearly 3 weeks out and still drinking plenty of protein shakes 2-2.5 a day to make sure I get in 70g of protein in. They give me half my liquid and I use powerade zero and other drinks to get in another 30+oz.. protein from food is tougher to get in .. no real hunger and it’s wonderful to not have to focus on feeding time ..
  4. I am almost 3 weeks out and also feel pretty good, but starting to try and eat “soft” foods and mixed chicken is a whole different ball it wax! Am reverting back to liquids and super soft foods ...
  5. I only had a week driving restriction - I cleaned closets and did some organizing I needed to do for a while . I did a lot of walking and planning for menus , etc . I got very bored and went back to work for a few hours a day - started spinning again 2 eeeks after surgery cuz I was walking 5 miles a day before . I feel great and have started doing some lite weights . I feel very good and back to normal
  6. Steve just started 10 lb weights today and it felt fine , plus started doing planks again . Feeling completely normal . Am getting back in the horses again this weekend, enough is enough !?
  7. It definitely seems to be 2 steps forward and one step back . Doc says only weigh once a week but guess I like torturing myself ! Seems like I lose a pound or pound and a half, do nothing different and then it comes back on and then it drops again. . So weird , but general trend is downward which is better than the alternative Down 23 and 47 more to go in 2019!
  8. I buy the pure protein pre made drinks at at Trader Joe’s . 35g of protein protein for only 160 calories and almost no carbs and 1 g of sugar . I do one drink in the am mixed with my decaf hazelnut coffee and it just like a latte ! I heat up drink for 50 seconds , then add fresh brewed coffee . I do the second drink in the afternoon or after workout . I also bought the pure protein powder mix in chocolate and blend a scoop with unsweetened chocolate almond milk(almond breeze ). Add half of a frozen banana (slice up then freeze in baggies) and a little bit of that peanut butter protein powder- delicious ! Like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake ! That takes care of 70 G protein, plus I also have some Isopure tropical punch powder that I sometimes use for another 20g of a light fruity drink. Makes a huge difference getting all this protein
  9. Wow Steve u r doing great ! I can easily drink water as well and am doing purée and soft but still being careful . I can get a small container of plain yogurt down at one sitting but it takes a while . I have heard the sleeve doesn’t really kick with a lot of restriction till solid food so I wouldn’t worry , that said I would keep calories below 800 and Ike u r doing , carbs below 50. I am headed to my 3 rd spin class this week and feel great as well ! Just dont want to end up with a hernia, so waiting on weights . My spinning broke my 3 day stall , but I agree , I think as long as we track the carbs and sugar , try to stay in Kerosis we can lose 1 lbs day or so. I have lost 15 since my 12/20 surgery and. 22 since the start of my preop diet . Feeling strong I agree , best thing I ever did !
  10. I am sitting down when I spin mostly and not to strenuous , they have said a stationary bike is ok so I fee like it’s the same . Doc said I am cleared for everything after 4 weeks .. 10 days to go .. but I worked out a fair bit before surgery ..
  11. I love pure protein . It’s only 160 calories a scoop and a whopping 35 g of protein . I buy the drinks at Trader Joe’s and do 2 a day to ensure I get my protein because I just can’t eat that much yet . A little lower abdominal pain yes , sometimes if I eat something that doesn’t agree with me or I overdo
  12. Mine did too , I am being bad but I am going stir crazy and need the endorphins. I am doing it mostly seated , not too much jogging and standing . Back was a bit sore last night , but was better with a heating pad . did an hour spin today , was motivated cuz I lost 1.5lbs today ?
  13. I am 57, turning 58 in April . Was sleeved 12/20 and I’ve lost 20lbs since starting the preop diet . It was quick at first but has slowed a bit to a crawl, and Numerous stalls but as long as heading in the right direction I will just wait it out !?
  14. Wow, I was sleeved 12/20 and had full energy within 5 says , I am drinking almost 70g of protein though and probably eating another 10g. Try upping ur protein . I’ve been walking 5 miles a day and did my first spin class today !
  15. I also got a book by bariatric doctor matthew Weiner called a pound of cure . He suggests eating a pound of vegetables a day . Both of these doctors such green smoothies for nutrition and weight loss
  16. I am only 2 weeks out but I was told 600-800 calories a day until I reach goal , 60-80g of protein and under 50g of carbs . Sugar should be Kept to a minimum i have a friend who did the sleeve and she said she really had to change up her eating and do a lot of weight training to get to goal. Cardio makes u hungry . If u check out dr vuong’s videos on u tube he is quite anti exercise for weight loss , says walking is best .
  17. That will be nice come summer!
  18. I have always been hot, thank u menopause , now I am freezing ! Is this a temporary or permanent thing ?
  19. I am just on lansaprozole
  20. I am just transitioning to purée this week , will try eggs as well . Have been mostly still doing liquids , with a little cottage cheese mixed into greek yogurt. Am going to try tuna with yogurt today and. Also did the ricotta bake recipe and that went down ok , but need to eat super slow . I think we can do refried beans with shredded cheese so may try that and will try the turkey chili recipe . Bariastic app has great recipes !
  21. I was sleeved the 20 th and have been doing research on purées and soft food for my start of this phase as well . The attached has some good ideas
  22. I had surgery the 20th, haven’t tried an egg as yet. Ur cottage cheese and plain yogurt works . I really like unsweetened chocolate almond milk with protein powder , 1/2 a frozen banana and some peanut butter powder .. delicious
  23. Omg Diane in philly , u rock !?. I’ve heard that weight lifting is better for weight loss than tons of cardio - is that ur experience ? I’ve been an avid spinner for some time and ride horses competitively so am already in good shape. But some video I watched said if u exercise too much you get hungrier ?
