  1. I love reading your posts, you are such an inspiration to me. And you look AMAZING. ❤️
  2. I walk at least 45 minutes (or more) every day and twice a week I work out with a trainer weight lifting and cross training. I really should do more, my weight loss would probably speed up.
  3. Hi, July Sleevers! I've been away from the forums for a while. I'm down to 183 and it has been sooooooo sloooooow. My surgeon has me at 1200 calories a day and 90 grams of protein, which I struggle to make because I still can't ingest a lot of meat at one sitting. My surgeon wants me to shoot for losing 7 to 8 pounds a month, but at this far out from the surgery I just don't see how? I mean, I barely lost much more than that in the months right after surgery. I want to get to 160 but I'm not sweatin' it too much, as I feel GREAT and I'm wearing straight sizes again (almost into a 12!). So, to sum up, I'm not breaking any weight or speed records, but I'm mostly making good decisions and that's a 1000% change in how I was before surgery. Hope you're all doing great!
  4. I hit 195 a couple of weeks ago but I'm struggling to get in my protein and water. I need a good kick in the butt.
  5. My three month appointment is today so I get to see what my bloodwork says. I had a cold for a couple of weeks and missed some vitamins. Down almost 50 pounds and feeling great though!
  6. Thanks for the inclusion of recipes! I'm always on the hunt for new foods to try.
  7. My weight loss slowed down dramatically around the 6 week mark, too. I think some people are just slower losers than others, for a variety of reasons. I have noticed a trend of more weight lost in the weeks I am really on top of my water and protein game. Just stay the course and don't let the scale define you!
  8. You are adorable and amazing! Great work!
  9. That sounds AMAZING.
  10. Don't beat yourself up -- we all fall off the wagon from time to time. The most important thing is that you don't let it turn into "oh well I screwed up, might as well eat this whole cake." (I say this from experience!) I have found that the best thing that keeps me on track is documenting everything I put in my mouth. If I eat it, it has to go into MyFitness Pal and I don't want to record that I'm eating junk -- even though I'm the only person that sees it. It keeps it more real and reminds me of what I'm supposed to be eating. That said, can you mix up your diet a bit now that you're on purees? I ate a lot of pureed chicken, egg, and tuna salad during that stage. I would be sick to death of beans and protein shakes, too!
  11. I also had heartburn for the first time in my life after VSG. I take Protonix, which is great, but I ran out and had a couple of days without pills before I could get my scrip filled. I took Tums for a couple of days and it did the job. Now I'm two months out and haven't had heartburn since, knock on wood!
  12. I'm eating leftover baked beans and pulled pork for breakfast this morning. Highly recommend.
  13. I still love soup for breakfast. It's such a pleasant way to start the day.
  14. I ate a lot of chicken salad for breakfast during the pureed stage as I'm not really into sweet first thing in the morning. I also ate meat and cheese roll-ups, but I'd toast them in the skillet so it was warm and the cheese got gooey. Don't limit yourself to traditional breakfast foods!
  15. I LOVE Whisps. I don't think I've tried Just the Cheese, I'll be on the lookout for it. Thanks!
  16. I'm addicted to Moon Cheese (dehydrated cheese) right now. My grocery store had more flavors but Costco has 10 oz. bags of the cheddar. Sooooo good.
  17. I walk an hour a day (outdoors, with some hills) and work out with a trainer twice a week doing weights and strength training. There's a kickboxing gym near me that I'm looking into, as well.
  18. I have nothing of value to add, just wanted to say how jealous I am and HAVE FUN!
  19. Oh jeez, that would annoy me to no end!
  20. You sound like someone I'd love to be friends with.
  21. I'm 44 years old and still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I have been a writer all my life but it doesn't feel like "enough" any more. I am the mom to five cats (yes, five!) because I have a heart of mush. My husband is my partner in crime. I have one tattoo but want sleeves. My favorite color is turquoise. I hallucinate upon waking. I love sharks, dinosaurs, and cephalopods. I am incredibly introverted but love new places and experiences.
  22. Same for me. Even waiters feel the need to comment on how little I'm eating. :/
  23. I've kept my surgery very private. Nothing on social media at all. I debated not telling my parents, but ended up doing so since they would figure out something was up next time they saw me eat when I visited. Only my closest friends and family members know. It's not that I'm keeping it a secret necessarily, I just don't like sharing details about my health with people. I do admire the more extroverted among us who are sharing their journeys though, and I enjoy reading about people's experiences.
  24. Same here! I've always been this way though. Whenever I travel I need to know where all the bathrooms are immediately!
