Hugs to you @kjuno. Those first two days are the worst, but it gets a little easier. I am sorry you are having a rough day and I am sorry that those around you aren't being as supportive as you need. That's not helpful. I only told a handful full of people, literally, no more than 5. I didn't want the foolishness. Let's both continue to take it one day at a time and pretty soon we will look back with thankfulness. Take it moment by moment.

I’m only on the second day of my liquid diet and it’s rough. I can only have the shakes, one Soup and 2 cups of raw veggies. My 2 yr old son is a picky eater so I’m making him 3 different meals hoping he’ll eat one and having my family tell me this is dumb and I shouldn’t do it. I’ve come so far 😒 I’m usually really good at being my own cheerleader but today is really rough.

I had my surgery in April and I think I have finally figured this feeling out. Whenever I eat too quickly and don't shew enough I tend to get this feeling and get foamy. I found if I slow down and set my fork down between bites I do better. We need to retain ourselves to slow down. Your meal should take at least 20 - 30 minutes to eat, instead of the 5 minutes my family tends to take. Think of your stomach as a pipe. If you pour too much of anything into a pipe, it gets backed up. If you pour contents ion slowly or a little at a time, it goes down more easily. Chew, chew, chew and rest between your next bite.

Still a struggle healing, but the results are remarkable. 7 months yesterday; gastric bypass in Tijuana, Mexico. Started out size 24 at 279 lbs, now wear a size 12 weighting 181 lbs.

I remember being pre-op and my favorite thing to do was look at progress photos and dream
I am 6 months, 10 days post op and I am down 128 pounds total. This isnt a very great pic since I have been sick, but i still took it because anything is better than my before!!

Call and see if you can get your diet adjusted. On mine, I was allowed all the celery I wanted, which sucked and was helpful at the same time.

just keep reminding yourself - this is the hardest bit, hunger-wise! You don’t have the tool yet to help you change your eating - but we expected to be able to do the behavior change! I remember thinking ‘how come they think I can do this? If I could, I wouldn’t BE fat!!”.
Two more days. Count them. Two. I focused on “make hunger my friend” - when I felt hungry, I reminded my self that for this short time, that was my success signal.
You can do this - it is SO worth it, for two more days or wrangling that awful feeling...

What restrictions were you given for your pre-op? For example mine was 2 weeks of full liquids.

Is anyone else’s surgery date December 11th?

I just got approved last week! My classes end Dec 10th and my surgery is December 11 :)

i have had multiple surgeries and have had to fight with hospitals to get things removed from surgical list.
i fought a darn band-aid! They charged me $1.28 for 1 band aid...there wasn’t a band aid on my body. They also charged me $5,000 for the anesthesiologist fee because he was out of network. I told them they had weeks to get me a doctor that was in network and they proceeded to tell me the doc that was suppose to be working with me had an emergency and couldn’t come. Well...that isn’t my fault! And they took off the charges. Hospitals can afford to dismiss charges; they over charge everyday.

You should ask for an itemized list so you can see the cost breakdown.
