A metallic taste in the mouth could also be a sign that your body is in ketosis. Which isn't all beyond the realm of possibility, seeing as your sugars are drastically reduced and a lot of your culinary options starting out are sugar-free.

As a birthday treat, I have some Decaf coffee from Starbucks. I've added some Atkins shake plus some GENEPRO (I know some people don't like Genepro, but I spent money on it and I WILL finish the bag.) It's SO yummy. I have been struggling with nausea for the past few days, unfortunately.

So I’m 2 days post op and I am in so much pain. The walking helps a little. I get a gurgling sound every time I sip my Water. Keeping hydrated seems to be my problem. Especially when all I want to do is sleep.

Yes, that's normal for post surgery. It can hurt a lot for a minute or two. It usually means you ate too much too fast. I am still learning so it happens a lot. Same happens if you drink to fast. I also get these pains randomly every once in a while. When that happens, it's a stomach spasm. It should calm down after a couple of weeks.

Laner there is several different brands but what I get is Isopure on Amazon and it’s a tasteless Protein Powder you can add to anything really. I was never big on sweets and the shakes make me nauseous.

Day 4 and I'm starting to feel human again. Just need to get some Protein. I have never liked sweet drinks, but it seems like that is all the Protein Drinks I can have. I'm going to add protein to broth and see if that works. Any other ideas?

You can manipulate Protein powder into muffins, pancakes and even waffles. Tons of online tutorials!

I eat Pure Protein Bars. They are 20g of Protein, around 200 calories. In the beginning, I'd eat 1/2, then a couple hours later eat the other half. They're easy to bring to work and keep in a drawer.

I had my sleeve surgery this past Friday 12/14. First 5 days were rough, but I turned a corner this morning and was able to sip an entire bottle of Water in a little over an hour.

Honestly, I don't think you should tell people that you have bulimia. Just because your body is so nauseous after you eat that you vomit, does not mean that you have bulimia. It's more likely severe GERD or something like that. If you aren't doing it on purpose, you can't classify it as bulimia.

My best friend is bulimic and for her, throwing up is a conscience effort. It's not like her body just does it.
I would imagine what you are suffering from is more of a physical problem. Have you been checked for a stricture, hernia, celiac/gluten intolerance, kept a food journal to look for patterns?

Well, the deed is done. 8am surgery this morning so I have had a long day of sleeping and not much else. Finally got up walking and went 5x farther than they wanted as a minimum.

The bloated gas pains really are unpleasant. Now I have added hiccups which really suck. I got some gas-x so I hope a little relief from the pressure will calm down my diaphragm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to thank everyone here to help me understand what I was getting into and being so supportive. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Hello everyone, I stumbled upon this site and I am so thankful I did. I had the sleeve done on December 10th, and I feel as though nothing has happened. I've always been good drinker so drinks are no problem and I can not tell when I am full. I just stop if it feels like it's turning over, but then after a few seconds, it's gone. Is this normal? I don't want to mess up anything, and I'm still on liquids but have a had a few bites of very soft foods.

Everyone has felt they get a say in what I do with and to my body friends coworkers family members especially all the family at my son’s bday party etc. did I tell them all? nope my mom felt the need to call all of our family and let them know. Even though I’m happy I had the surgery, I’m only 4 days out I’m glad I had it but extremely hard without any cheerleaders in my corner. 😢 even though my family has told me how stupid this was and what a waste of money it is I’m greateful they kept my 2 yr for a couple days after surgery so I could heal.
