  1. I'm a little over 4 weeks post gastric sleeve. My stomach ALWAYS feels like it is growling/gnawing/gurgling or something. I've been on omeprazole daily since surgery. Is this common? Anyone else have this?

    WATER

So here I am 2.5 wks post-op, on pureed foods, and trying to get in enough liquids and protein but it's not easy. Before surgery I loved water, always kept a huge mug of ice water with me and chugged it all day long. NOW I don't like the taste of it! I thought maybe the filter on my water faucet wasn't working properly so I started drinking bottled water that someone bought...nope...still does NOT taste good to me How does that happen?!

    Intimacy

I waited until my one week post op appt with my surgeon. My husband was with me and of course he had to ask! We were told as long as I'm feeling up to it then go ahead...just be gentle! The last thing you want is to get your insides bounced all over the place 😄
  4. You are not alone! I had surgery Jan 9th and went through the same thing! It will pass. The first 2 weeks were rough just being on liquids and feeling so bloated, like I was 10 months pregnant, the gas pains , "growling" (gurgling) stomach, the second guessing my decision and fear of failure...yep...pretty common! Keep coming to this forum and read others testimonies so you know you are not alone!

    Pills stuck

Thanks everyone for your replies! The pill is actually a caplet...Zoloft...I'm not sure if it can be crushed but I will check on that! Trying it with pudding is another great idea ☺️

    Pills stuck

OMG am I the only one who has had the misfortune of getting pills stuck in their throat? I've never had a problem taking pills before. Tonight is the third time I've gotten one stuck in my throat and I don't know why. Im taking it with plenty of water. It's hard not to panic when you feel it and start getting a burning sensation. I walk around, sip water, sip warm liquid (all things my surgeon's office told me to do) and it doesn't help. I then ate a few small pieces of bread with peanut butter on it (again, recommended by surgeon's office). Tonight I tried making myself throw up and when I stuck my finger down my throat I actually felt the pill but it wasn't where I could scoop it out. Instead, I gagged and threw up liquid but no pill! Anyone else?

    Pills stuck

YES! I actually felt it when I stuck my finger down my throat to induce vomiting 😫 but it wasn't in a position where I could sweep it out.

    Just Sleeved

Hello everyone! I finally had my surgery on January 9th! Everything went very well, no complications...no nausea, no real pain other than the expected gas discomfort. Spent one night in the hospital and home the next day. Within a couple days time I started feeling anxious about what I just did to my body 😞 and could not stop thinking about food! I got to thinking that I'm never going to be able to eat my favorite meals again which caused me to get all worked up. I then started fearing that I'm going to be a failure at this 😢 I did 3 days of clear liquids post op and I am now on full liquids for 10 to 14 days. Please tell me these feelings are normal 😩

    Need Positive Encouragement

I'm not crazy about the protein shakes myself, they all seem to leave an aftertaste however I came across a "recipe" on Pinterest for a Butterfinger protein shake that is delicious! I use one vanilla Premier Protein shake, one tbsp. sugar free butterscotch pudding mix, and one tbsp. PB fit peanut butter powder...mix together real good and allow to chill so the pudding sets up a bit...DELICIOUS!!!

    HUNGRY!

I'm eating 4 oz of pureed foods right now and I DON'T feel full on that! I was freaking out about it until I read other's comments regarding not feeling restriction until you get to solid foods. As far as water...I used to love it before surgery, drank lots of it everyday, but now I don't like the taste! How does that happen?!

    Diarrhea

Unpleasant topic I know but...I'm 1-1/2 wks post vsg and have intermittent episodes of diarrhea 😫. Im still on liquids. I'm attributing it to the fact that Im not taking in solids AND all the artificial sweeteners in the sugar free jello, pudding, popsickles. Anyone else have this issue????

    Just Sleeved

Thank you for your reply!...makes a lot of sense. I think I'm having these feelings due to being on liquids only...miserable...I so want something a little more solid in my belly 😁

    Received A Bill Finally

I work in medical billing and deal with insurance companies ALL DAY LONG! First off, if you didn't get this agreement with the doctor's office in writing, then you are S.O.L. in that regard. Secondly, it can take a year or longer for medical offices to finally get payment from insurance companies. It is an extremely frustrating process. Insurance companies will repeatedly come up with one reason after another to not pay and drag it out EVEN WHEN THE PROCEDURE IS PRECERTIFIED BY THEM! That being said, you should've been following up with your insurance company all along and looking over your EOBs to see what was getting paid etc. I definitely recommend starting there.

    Constantly Tired @ 2 Weeks

I haven't had surgery yet...hopefully this January...but one of my coworkers had it done a few months ago and she said she was exhausted the first three weeks! It was all she could do to muster the energy to take a shower but then it passed
