Whew!!! Time has flown by so fast!!! The 25th of this month makes a full year since WLS. I have had some up and down moments, but never any regrets about having it done. I'm so amazed at the weight I have lost and I am loving the positive way it has improved my health and gave me a new lease on life. Down to a size 4 and some 5's. I'm embracing the physical changes my body has endured through this journey. Best wishes to those who are on this journey...you got this!!! Stay encouraged and never give up on yourself

Happy Born Day

I start each day with a Protein Shake at around 6am. Then I eat small meals (a Protein and some vegetables or a salad) about 4 times a day and have 2 or 3 Snacks (usually cold crunchy vegetables). I drink Water from the time I wake up until I go to sleep. I walk about 2 miles a day and do light cardio. I really pay attention to package labels now and still haven't eaten rice, bread, Pasta or sweets.Excellent

Ask your doctor to put you on dexilant. It's way better than protonix. Also see if they can give you carafate, it helps coat. The ulcer so it can healI am experiencing my second ulcer. Never was nauseous or had vomiting. Just really excruciating pain. The second one hurts below my breastbone about 4 inches. Nothing heals the ulcer, I can’t take Protonix anymore as it was becoming toxic to me. Don’t know why I have recurring ulcers. -

Congratulations[emoji323]!!! You're doing awesome! You'll be in Onederland before you know it [emoji847]Just been doing, got down to 228, when you consider where I once was (365+) that's dogg9ne good. Still marching toward Onederland, I though for a while I'd never get as low as I am now so maybe,i is achievable. Danged of I know which dead relative I resemble this week, that's the blessing of coming from a large family base, you always resemble someone. Hope its one of the M9onshone brewers, oops I mean Small Businessmen, they're more interesting than the polecats, scoundrels and thieves. And yes I have tasted Corn Liquor, one of the reasons I don't drink, it can give you a blinding headache! Looks clear, may even not taste all that bad, uncle ran it through coffee filters, but when it hits bottom, you can repent of sins you hadn't even had time to comitt! Managed not to vomit but sat on that tree stump a while until the world stopped spinning. That's a benefit of living as long as me, you garner a lit of stories and happenings. But still, best thing I ever did for ME is Bariatric Surgery! And the rest of my life will be the best of my life![emoji13][emoji120][emoji256][emoji173] -

If possible stay away from the steroids. I had taken them and found out they were the cause of me developing a stomach ulcerHas anyone with bypass had to take prednisone orally? -
Thank you so much! How have you been?AlteredReality -You are now gorgeous- had a faint idea what you might look like but you surpassed it. All I can say is WOW! -
Thank you so much. Your concern means more than you can imagine to me!!! Sending you hugs of gratitude [emoji847]I am glad you are okay. I was worried but did not want to look like a stalker. Happy to read you are feeling a lot better.Frustr8 reacted to this -
It's been a minute since I updated anything, but here it is! I am now in a size 5...never thought I would be in that size without a 2 in front of it!!! Still trying to cope with the reflection in the mirror, because she's so foreign to me still. I have moments of just being down, because I no longer look the same. I miss some of the physical attributes I used to have. I feel like i'm in middle school again when I look at myself...flat chested once again (never thought that would happen). Contrary to the hype...SQUATS DON'T WORK (I lost that attribute as well)!!! On the good side...i'm much healthier and now have a normal BMI and have much more energy. So all in all, even though I have had some struggles and dealt with some stomach issues throughout this journey...i'm still happy with the decision I made to go through with it.
I want to say thank you, to those of you that have been so supportive and have been following my progression with me️

Thank you. I'm glad to hear you're doing much better nowGetting it out will help!
I am 3 days post op of getting my gallbladder removed. I am 10 months post bypass surgery. I did not feel good when I ate anything for 6 months but my surgeon did not think I had ulcers or anything serious. When I ate I would have pain on my left side below my ribs and I also just did not feel like myself or generally I felt not well. On Super Bowl Sunday I had a severe gallbladder attack. I went to UPMC where I had my bypass and they found severe sepsis blood infection caused by my gallbladder backing up bile in my liver ducts. My liver was also inflamed. So I had 7 days in the hospital and another 14 days of in home IV antibiotics. Then they finally took it out on Feb 28. I can say that I feel more like my old self than I have for a while. The operation went well and I was released home on the same day as the surgery. Good luck but getting the gallbladder removed should improve your health. -
I took it after surgery. Some kind of way still ended up with sludge. The pain you mention, sounds a lot like the pain that I was having, when I found out about my ulcer. It's best to make an appointment with either your surgeon that performed your RNY or to see a gastroenterologist as soon as possible. Don't ignore the painsCurious, for those that replied they had their gallblader out post WLS, do you remember if you took Ursodiol post op?
@scoutcr - I get that same pain under my lower left ribs after eating. Please explain more about how it progressed.GettinSkinnywithit reacted to this -
Thank you so much. It's definitely been a journey. I'm down to 156 lbs. now. Just 11 more pounds to go to my 2nd goal weight. I'm glad to hear you're steadily losing and I am proud of you too![mention=341880]AlteredReality[/mention]. What a beautiful user pic. You should be a poster patient to inspire those on the fence about the benefits of gastric bypass. I'm still behind you in terms of weight lost, but I am losing. I am so proud of myself.

Thank you. I'm staying hopeful that getting it removed will helpI am sorry to hear that you are still not 100%. Gallbladder issues can be painful. I had my gallbladder removed 7yrs ago and the procedure was very simple. I spent a night in the hospital and never took the pain medicine they prescribed.
good luck and feel better soon.
It's almost my surgerversary!!!
