Forgive my daughter's disgusting room and mirror - I don't have a mirror in my own room (you know how that goes). But I guess I'll be wearing a Medium to Pride this summer when I'm home in Ireland!
I bought this in Old Navy on Black Friday last year knowing I would have the surgery in Feb - I wanted to hedge my bets and get a Large, but my daughter made me get a Medium. I hoped more than believed it would ever fit - but here we are! I could even need a Small by the time Pride rolls around in August - but maybe not with how slowly I lose, LOL.
(I'm not LGBTQ myself, but I am an Ally and my daughters and I take part in pride every year when we are home because equal rights mean so much!) 🏳️‍🌈

Boldilocks reacted to catwoman7 in I have a "would you rather' question
I can maintain my weight if I keep my calorie intake at or below 1700/day. If I go north of that too many times in a week, my weight starts heading up.
I don't pay much attention to my macros, although I probably should. I do have to average 100+ grams of Protein a day because we learned fairly soon after surgery that I malabsorb it (I might have before surgery, too - but we don't know because they never did a baseline on protein). If I get less than that, my prealbumin level tanks.
as far as carbs, I'm almost always in the 100-150 range (which is way more than I was eating in weight loss mode). But then, I'm not particularly carb sensitive - I know a lot of us ARE, so if that were the case with me, I'd still be watching my carb intake.
I don't pay any attention to fats at all. As long as whatever I eat throughout the day fits into my calorie range, I'm good!

Boldilocks got a reaction from Carrot64 in I have a "would you rather' question
This is me exactly! Yes, I will feel my restriction - but I know I could overeat, and it's not a hard stop for me like it is for some.
I was able to drink 8oz of Water immediately after surgery, and it's continued in that vein ever since. I weigh and measure my food - I'm used to taking in relatively few calories due to PCOS dieting (was on 1300 cals or less a day for years before surgery) - and don't go over 4 oz, though I know I physically could. I don't feel restriction with that. Towards the end of the meal, I'll feel a little tight - but I think it's because I eat too fast, and I don't chew everything to an absolute pulp, and I take bites that are too big. In spite of all that, I have never dumped, never thrown up, never had the foamies, never had to spit food out, never felt nauseous or had to lie down.

I am losing very, very slowly - and there are definitely days where I would like that security that comes with a lot of restriction.
Then again, I feel like this is perhaps setting me up better for maintenance, as I police myself and don't rely on my restriction to do it? If I ever get to maintenance, that is...

Is that the correct surgery date on your profile? Because if so, you are only 3.5 months out, not 4.5. I know because I had my surgery the day after you, LOL! And how much have I lost? 30lbs - half as much as you! It sucks to compare yourself to others, and that way madness lies - but if you are going to insist on doing it, compare yourself to me. You are absolutely flying!! You are doing wonderfully well!

Ended up having a bottle of wine over the course of 3-4 hrs. Felt completely normal. I used to have a very high tolerance (I am from Ireland after all), so I don't know if that makes a difference - but I'm relieved that I can drink when I feel like it, and not get wasted very quickly. Calories will be factored into MFP, don't worry!

Yes, less ounces for sure! My brother and I would drink beer (ales, not carbonated lagers) when we go out, and I don;t think I'll be able to manage that! (Also, UK/Irish pints are 20oz, where they are 16oz here!)

I'm 4.5 months out and am going to have my first drink tonight while watching the Eurovision Song Contest (most Americans don't have a clue what that is, but it's a big deal for us back home, LOL). I'm going to be in Ireland in 8 weeks (I go home for the summer every year) and my brother and I like to go out for a drink, so I'm looking to see what my reaction is to alcohol now and what my tolerance is.
I have a friend who had the sleeve 2 years ago. She gets buzzed very quickly, and then sobers up equally quickly (like in 15 mins). It's pretty funny to watch.
    I'll report back tomorrow, LOL.

Boldilocks reacted to KT1981 in I AM OVERWEIGHT!
As of this morning I am no longer obese, just overweight. I have 29 pounds to my goal weight, and only 14 pounds to the doctor's goal weight. My 7 month anniversary was yesterday.
Just as important- MY 6 MONTH STALL BROKE. I stayed the course and did what I was supposed to do, even when I got zero results for over 2 weeks. But my body did what IT was supposed to do and got its crap together and the losses seem to have picked up again.
I'm amazed at the success of this tool and proud of myself for my VERY hard work, in spite of my imperfections. I genuinely can't believe I'm in this position. I even signed up for a fitness evaluation at work, and based on those results, someone in our wellness department is designing a workout plan specifically for me to work on the muscle groups I have concerns with.
    I am happy.
