  1. Everyone - thank you for helping me feel normal. For some reason I didn’t see any of your responses and I also suck at this forum platform (probably because I’m so tired!!). Anyway I am still choosing my bed over everything but will to try to do a little more today with the energy I have. Back to work on Monday.
  2. I get easily winded after a shower. Takes hours for me to pull it together. I have to use my inhaler.
  3. @AshAsh1 thank you for making me feel like I am not a defect. I appreciate your attentive response. I hit the soft food stage Thursday and feel so much better!! I have to figure out how to make balanced 2/3 oz meals, but I am so much more alert and active. I’m three weeks out and would love another week but I need to go back to work (benefits reasons - which is why I wanted earlier in the year). Also, I don’t want to be home alone anymore (single gal). I enjoy it but I’ll enjoy it too much. I think I can work part of the day or week at home if I feel too exhausted.
  4. What’s the nutritional value of this? Any idea where to find it? Looks DELICIOUS for 2-3 months out.
  5. I drink Bi-Pro water and they have no artificial sweeteners. They can be a little filmy on the tongue so drink them cold. I’m tired of artificial sugars and have vowed to never have them again after I’m tolerating solid foods. I will use no sugar, raw sugar, honey, stevia, monk fruit (don’t have a sweet tooth) but I will kick sucralose and aspartame out of my diet for good as soon as I can. As far as Bi-Pro, Costco and Amazon carry them. They double as water and protein so a relief if you are feeling hangry.
  6. Sometimes, we don’t see how people in our lives can be until we after we begin improving ourselves. It’s when we change something about ourselves that they valued or something about is that they needed - even if it’s bad for us or puts us in a worse light.
  7. Hi friends, I’m two weeks post-op for VSG and have been VERY tired the whole time. I have needed midday marathon naps, and it’s been consistently every day. Interested in hearing from anyone else who may have felt this way. I’m a sing person, live alone, and have a pretty quiet life and not driving yet. I have been walking my dog on short walks. Thanks in advance!
  8. Thanks everyone for helping me build my expectations about my journey. You sharingnis greatly appreciated.
  9. I am totally stuck in this place right now.
  10. I was there and could get it together. I would barely walk. Day three for me was so much better. I was able to walk and move around although swallowing was challenging. For the first two days I had extreme nausea so couldn’t take oral pills well, but when it clicked, it clicked. Tips: - try colder water (iced), room temp made me nauseous (still do); - try sleeping on your left side. Doing this helped me move gas - have hot tea; changed how I felt immediately I felt terrible and was in surprisingly worse shape than anyone expected in the hospital, but today is 10 days out and I feel pretty good. Good luck friend. @me if you need to chat.
  11. Dang. Thx for the education. Apologies if I came across as insensitive.
  12. @sleevemebaby7781 10 days isn’t too far out. Anytime you start will help. You could also try the liver cleansing tonic that’s been around for decades to help you out. Just know that you are doing this so your liver doesn’t get punctured. And before they risk puncturing you - they’ll just close you up. And I don’t know the costs for that.
  13. I’m 10 days out: my doc said my liver was so “tiny” and I actually loved the creativity I had in my preop diet. I did have big salads that I would eat, put aside and finish later. That was my portion control. I chose very flavorful protein rich fulls and played around with seasonings that were mostly approved: light adobo is a good one. I avoided carby veggies and fruits and enjoyed eggs and even bunless burgers with mayo and mustard 1 oz light cheese. I never really felt hungry. And I started each morning w/premier. Actually I look forward to going back to that diet. It was filling, tasty, and I lost 10 lbs of fat, not H2O. I should also add that I cut back carbs (bread, noodles, rice) in July and more so one month out from surgery.
  14. Congrats! I had mine a week before you and also had a horrible ordeal but it will get better. I promise promise. I’m 10 days out today and I am really feeling better. I kept in the front of my mind: “this too shall pass” and “I didn’t come this far to fall apart.” YOU WILL BE VICTOOOOORIOUS!
  15. Thank you for sharing. I am trying to get my hydration right. I understand people needing to share the difficult. Just wondered if that was a definite or if there were others with more success, like you. And actually, I’d never heard some of these really bad experiences until after my procedure (last week) so I was getting frightened, emailing my docs daily, and planning for the worst. I know I may have negative experiences too in the future that I’ll want to share for support - but was wondering if it turns out bad for everyone eventually. Thanks for sharing your experiences. Yes to the rules- at 10 days out I am trying to find the best ways to hydrate. QQ: Do you still eat really really small meals?
