I think the most important thing it NOT to beat yourself up about it. Lots of times we eat because we're thirsty. Try keeping a flavored water nearby and sipping on that when you feel the urge to grab a jelly donut.
Yesterday at work someone brought in my favorite local donuts and they looked fabulous. It took some will but I turned away and took a sip of my freshly made Hawaiian punch Water (sugar free).
I also find if I keep some nuts with me at all times it helps curb the hunger. Take 3-4 nuts (your choice) and chew them till they're much and for some reason that helps me with those tempting moments.

Feeling ROTTEN this AM, people mention dreaded 3 week stall, NO ONE. mentioned a 14 day Flip-it-All! I feel as nasty rotten today as I should have right after surgery. The thought of EGD and balloon dilatation was mentioned yesterday, instead of marching bravely into Stage 3 I feel like I am. Being an abysmal failure at Stage 2. liquids I concede may be draining ok, seems like cream of rice and thicker hanging up in "Precious Pouch". Doesn't give a sensation of emptying. Some poachers even say they can listen to their body letting loose with a swoosh into their jeje small intestine, amI still too swollen to feel THAT? Good news - lost 6.5 pounds in a week Bad news- I had to feel pretty crappy to do it. WTFN? Nurse Practioner was making EGD noises yesterday, is that the NEXT step on this journey? Don't want my old plumbing, back, just want this NEW ONE to WORK!

I now plan to have a snack each day, which is either a Jello cup and/or a Dole fruit cup. The Jello is 5-10 calories and the fruit cups (Peaches or pineapple in fruit juice) are about 50. Jerky is also pretty good, you can get 50 cal Jacks Links snack packs from Walmart.

I received some great advice from the psychologist during my band eval years ago (now a sleever) -
Being a "B" student is what you should strive for in eating after WLS. If you think you have to be perfect, the pressure may be too much. But if you aim for a "B", good most of the time, but certainly not all of the time, you may be happier in the long run.
My goal is to build a healthy lifestyle at a healthy weight. Which does include some Snacks, birthday cake and wine.

I usually stick to the healthier Snacks, but I have had some "no-nos". Today I had a jellly donut and I beat myself up about for the most part of the day. Last week I had a scoop of ice cream. I'm just trying not get back into the habit of eating these things when I know how slippery that slope is. One problem that I have is lack of time to plan. (something I'm working on). I do believe that is a great tool to avoid choosing not so healthy options.

Ive actually made tons of bariatric friendly recipes. Including cauliflower pizza. I even made it for my family and they loved it also!

Thank you for your comment. This makes absolute perfect sense and some of us need to hear this. I am 1 month post-op having lost 20 lbs since my surgery. My friend who had the same procedure on the same day as me has lost more weight than I have and it kinda bummed me out. Im thinking I'm doing something wrong. Not realizing that our bodies are all different so we won't lose weight uniformly.

FREEZE THIS THE BARIATIC POLICE. NOW STEP AWAY FROM THE scale. (JK)
do consider giving the scale a break and move to a weekly weigh-in vs the daily mental torture you do now.
Not every victory in this journey comes from the scale and even when not losing weight other good things happen. There is a whole thread on NSV - that's non scale victories - give it a read and see how many apply now and what you have to look forward to.

First, stop with the daily stress. If your scale doesn't have body fat or other metrics as well, going off 1 and only 1 metric is going to be madding and not at all the full picture!!

How's the exercising going? How's your Water intake?

The math is simple, if calories burned is higher than calories eaten, you **WILL** lose weight.

You will stall. Your body will need time to pause and re-calibrate itself. Just make sure you are getting your required amounts of Protein and water and that you are burning more than you are consuming. Just stick with it and the scale WILL move again.

I've had a few stalls already in the 2 months since my revision. I made sure to pay attention to my body fat percentage as well. So even if I gained a pound or 2, if my body fat decreased... I knew I was still doing things the right way.

Stick with it and DO NOT GET FRUSTRATED!!! You are not alone!
    Good Luck!

People have a lot of weird misconceptions about how fast they'll lose weight and how much weight they'll lose after weight loss surgery.
Would be nice if the seminars did a better job of presenting this information factually up front. Mine did, but it seems like a lot of folks feel mislead when they're a few months out.
Statistically, most people will lose on one side or the other of about 60% of their excess weight in 18 months. This is the average result. Most people will maintain a 55% of excess weight weight loss three years after surgery...which beats the hell out of the results of conventional dieting.
Some people will hit goal and lose 100% of their excess weight....which is awesome! Some people will never reach a 50% loss of excess weight and end up feeling defeated.
Obviously, if you work hard, follow your diet, follow a good exercise program and have good support...your odds of reaching goal go up. The biggest part is compliance, for sure.
But there's also a biological component. Diabetics have a tougher time. Metabolic syndrome folks have a tougher time. Older folks have a tougher time. PCOD folks have a tougher time. Mental health issues can make things harder. Certain necessary medications can make things harder. People with limited mobility have a tougher time.
Youth helps. Good general health helps. A good support system helps.
No two people have the same experience with this wild ride.
