  1. As long as I was able to walk on my own and be able to drink 4 oz of fluid per hour for 6 hours straight the surgeon said he would discharge me. You get no rest in the hospital, I just wanted to sleep in my own bed.
  2. You can add me on Instagram @vsg10.11.2018. Just had my surgery on Thursday and released the next day - Friday.
  3. If they comment on your weight loss and ask how you did simply say you are eating healthier, more protein, less carbs, no junk food and drinking lots of water (which is or will be true!). No need tell them about your "secret tool".
  4. Actually it was 8 oz per hour - 4 oz protein shake and 4 oz of water. I got confused with the hospital as they measured it by ml. So drank 4 of the medicine dosage cups.
  5. Sleeves on 10/11/18 and released the next afternoon. I just had to show I could drink 4 oz of liquid and hour for six hrs straight before I could be released. Feeling ok, belly feels like I was stabbed 5 times lol. They have me liquid oxycodone which helps. Difficult to get into our out of bed but hopefully each day will get better.
  6. It will only last a couple of days. Stay strong!
  7. Good luck@CrankyMagpie
  8. You have a whole family of virtual supporters right here! Post away with your doubts, fears, anxiety and you will see it's all normal.
  9. Pick your forum and hit the little icon.
  10. I got my approval today too and the date is set for October 11th. Super happy and excited!
  11. Congrats! I can't believe you had to do an 18 month medically supervised diet!! And an appeal to get it.
  12. Same date as me . It's coming quickly and I'm getting nervous.
  13. Mine is scheduled for October 11th. Love to be your cohort! I can use all the support I can get.
  14. I'd love it my doctor's office called and asked if I wanted to move my date up!! The waiting is the worst!
  15. I have to do a 2 week liver shrinking diet for pre-op. Thankful I'm not doing liquid only diet.
  16. Mine is also tentatively scheduled for October 11th pending insurance approval. Message me if you are looking for a buddy.
  17. Can someone explain to me how to connect with other members on here who are having their surgery in October? I'd like to be able to message people privately to talk about our progress or issues we might be having.
  18. I've just been scheduled for October 11th.
  19. Is this in addition to the required nutritional visits with the dietitian?
  20. Start with the 3 hour class. Don't be nervous as everyone else attending is just like you. Takes notes and ask questions if you like. They will literally walk you through all the next steps and there are lots of steps before they'll do the surgery. You can do this!
  21. I don't have a date yet but the surgeon has said late October or November. I'm trying to continue eating healthy and walking every day. I have one more nutritional visit and my final appt with pulmonologist after using the cpap for two months. I'm also researching where to purchase my supplements. I plan on taking two weeks off after surgery.
